  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I was wondering if there was anyway to become an official member of the club via paid membership and such? I'm pretty much always browsing via tapatalk so might have missed something.
  2. Haha fair play man!!! Congratulations and I wish you all good health
  3. Thanks Pete, I think you're on to something. From what I've been reading am I correct in thinking that a first need a nav cd to load the software etc then put the map DVD in afterwards? I have no idea where to get said cd and nothing useful is coming up on google.
  4. Ok so I just spent the past two hours sitting in my zed sweating my nackers off swapping out the jdm nav screen and DVD drive for what I was told a 2004 UK GT screen and drive. I turned her on and everything was still is jap so I put my new map DVD in the drive that I bought from http://www.satnavi.com/nissan.php (option 2) and it came up as navigation loading please wait, it did this for about 10 minutes and the screen turned on/off and repeated itself.... Any ideas chaps? I'm going to have a look around the Internet and see if I can find an alternative download and maybe chuck a drive cleaning disk in there just in case.
  5. I know this is an old thread but just wondering what you guys did to fix the bad earth as I think I'm having the same problem, (no fans, but I can get them started by hand (I know, I know ) but they are very slow (one is slower then the other) I've taken the top block connectors off and inspected them, no fur or rust etc. I'm about to check the bottom ones once I've jacked it back up and removed the cover underneath. I must admit, electrics are not my strong point but I do have a multimeter handy and some 16 gauge wire. Thanks
  6. Better to walk away mate, the iPhone quality photos didn't exactly give a good impression either.
  7. Woohoo, booked the weekend off work, now to make some friends so I'm not billy loner all weekend
  8. I bought this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271016974010? ... 1439.l2649 and 5l of magifoam from a random website I found on google (~£22 delivered). It's working pretty well, haven't used it on the Zed yet but it cleaned up our 4x4 pretty well that hasn't been washed since about 2 years ago
  9. Hi guys, I've managed to pickup a UK satnav screen and DVD drive and I'm looking for the set of buttons to go along with it in English. I haven't fitted the unit yet and I'm not having much luck ringing around local breakers etc. (Car is 2003 JDM) Can anyone help? If not I suppose I could get my Japanese friend to translate the buttons and I'll get some stickers made instead. Thanks
  10. Wow, 500k miles! Wonder how much engine work she's had over those years, "never had a serious breakdown"
  11. I've been looking at this for a few days now and I'm seriously tempted to go have a look, but if I do I know I won't be able to walk away empty handed.
  12. Reading this thread makes me kind of sad.. I'm with Adrian Flux, 23, driving 6 years (no ncb as I was on traders policies via work for many years) 1 pending no fault claim (someone went up the back of me a few months back), Tamworth area and paying £2568 Cheapest I could find was insurethebox at £1200 but they wouldn't touch a fairlady and screw having big brother watching me.
  13. Looks great, I want to do something similar to replace my Jap screen but not sure on a tablet or dvd/tv/satnav complete units from fleebay. Was it much hassle to fit?
  14. On the drive home from picking mine up I got 32mpg, that's the only proper motorway journey I've done so far and now I've got it home I'm getting 23/28mpg on dual carriageways and A roads. I don't drive her hard as she scares the crap out of me and I the fact I look 12 years old just waiting for those blue lights.
  15. Wow guys, thanks for all the warm welcomes! Those funny looking square things are indeed cameras, it also has a reversing camera but all my nav unit and camera controls are in jap so I want to rip it all out and replace with some nice hd cameras and an extra one facing forward to record anything should it happen (had a few scary moments almost going up the back of people carriers full of passengers with no brake lights deciding to practice emergency stops)
  16. Hello chaps! Picked up my lovely JDM 350z just under a week ago and oh my, what a wonderful car! I have some work to do but that is expected for the price I paid and I love getting my hands dirty, I was rather surprised at just how easy the spark plugs were to change. Oil and filter was also painless (whoever designed that f'ing dipstick needs a slap!) but I'm really not looking forward to changing that gearbox oil. Hopefully I'll be fitting my new Fujitsubo exhaust this week as the JDM one on there at the moment has a hole in the back and sounds like crap. I'm 23, 5'6" and look like a 12 year old joyrider but whatever, I'm in love Looking forward to squeeze in what ever shows are left for the year (only just learnt about ZedFest so I'll hit up the Midlands meet section soon for more) Also, would just like to say thank you for all the great information on this forum, its a goldmine!
