  1. Hello Claire! Well done and your car is beautiful Annie
  2. Hello and glad you are mended
  3. Oh yes rtbuscuit, silly me, I'd not thought of that well I really do drive like a little old lady
  4. I'm really impressed how mature we all seem to be. I wondered if I was going to be derided for being boring but it seems not
  5. I think on balance that I'll probably stick to ignoring them. I expect they will get a girlfriend one day once their acne clears up a bit
  6. Thanks rabbitstew. Just asked OH how he'd worked out the best option and, apparently, he's used a 'Cash for Car' calculator on one of the contract hire companies' websites. Glad I don't have to do it as I'm a total airhead when it comes to figures
  7. I only popped out for a bit of shopping this morning but I managed to encounter a wannabe boy racer in his Mum's Corsa, challenging me to beat him off the lights. I was turning right and he was going straight on so I'm not sure how he thought the race result was to be decided? I just pretended I couldn't hear him revving up his tinny engine and eyeballing me. It made me laugh so not all bad but would it have been wrong to have wound down my window and shouted, "I'll tell your Mum you're mistreating her car" and then driven off sniggering? What is the correct form when one encounters deluded teenagers?
  8. rtbiscuit, glad that I'm not the only one! I rarely seem to want or like the things other people want or like. It doesn't bother me but I sometimes wonder why I am different from the majority of folk? If you're from Suffolk maybe you live in a fairly isolated spot like me here in East Yorks? I've only got one neighbour, the next nearest house is a mile and a half down the road which suits me fine. I am a very friendly person but I only need to interact with others for a short time to feel that I've had enough and am ready to spend time alone again
  9. Goodness me! That front bit looks like a grain dryer
  10. Hmm, alright for some, eh? I don't actually like the heat so am never jealous of those who go to really hot places and I hate crowds too so no city breaks for me either. Goodness, I am fussy aren't I? My parents always used to say that I should become a hermit and live half way up a remote mountain as it would be the only way for me to feel really happy
  11. Pete, I love mine too much obviously. I thought everyone kept their Zed in the sitting room?
  12. Squee and NeilP, you're both just showing off because you can afford nice holidays Jealous, me, not at all ...
  13. rabbitstew, you're probably right on the fuel question. I know OH said it was something to do with the mileage he did so I sort of assumed it was to do with the fuel costs The last car he handed back after 3 years had well over 120k on the clock so I guess the depreciation and wear and tear would make it uneconomic to use your own car in these circumstances, as you say. I think he also likes the fact that he doesn't have to bother about servicing and other hassles with the company car. He works for an automotive data company and that's why I was looking up the tax costs in the first place. I'm self-employed and have only ever had hire cars for odd weeks when I was employed so I don't really know much about the subject but was shocked at the tax he'd have to pay if he used my Zed to go to work in
  14. Don't know the first thing about poker but well done
  15. 1.All my (many) domestic pets 2. Zed 3. My ceramics and paintings Would need pretty big hands to carry that lot, horse weighs half a ton on its own
  16. Going next month. Got my hotel booked and getting excited now I've read ebized's report (v well written) and it sounds great! Will report back my experience after I've been.
  17. Why are u thinking about that, or don't you think I can do that properly either? I bloomin' well can
  18. Wesmin, intrigued by your third task! Where are u looking or are u on dating site maybe? I need more smilies to convey all my emotions on here
  19. Sorry wasso, I know I ask a lot of questions but I'm a psychologist manqué and forum folk are my subjects I guess, as it's easier to get access to a wide cross section of society on here than in 'real life'.
  20. Mm, I'd love a strawberry tart, well I would if I wasn't allergic to strawberries Glad I'm not the only one who loves a bit of multi tasking. I've never been able to watch tv without ironing or walk the dogs without mentally writing my first detective novel or suchlike I think men can definitely multi task. They just pretend they can't to stop their partners asking them to do things!!!!
  21. I realise this post, like most of my previous ones, could lead to a bit of ribaldry but it's a genuine question Personally, I'm on here and also on a horse forum and reading The Observer.
  22. Are you talking to me zugara? If so, I don't know if I'm worthy of driving my Zed or not. I'll let you know what Colin at CAT says after my track day which, incidentally, I can't wait for! I'm not going to tell you what speed I've got it up to on the motorway 'cos its definitely not legal and that's another reason to look forward to being allowed to do 130 on the high speed track at Millbrook
