  1. I thought it was okay. The shampoo works really well, I found it quite sudsy myself. And as above, the tyre shine seems to differ greatly between tyre brands - more so than most others do actually. From previous experience, the Nanolex glass sealant is excellent, as all Nanolex products tend to be. The wheel cleaner was very good - needs to be diluted at least 2:1 to be wheel wax safe though. I was disappointed with the waterless blind test thing, I thought it was just terrible and most QD's would do a better job in it's place. Not tried the rest yet.
  2. Unless you use a water filter. Or alternatively, stock up on this if you're feeling flush; http://www.carpro.uk.com/spotless-water-spot-mineral-remover-500ml/
  3. Yes it is, they have upto 6 months to do you. Not according to the offical source: https://www.gov.uk/speeding-penalties I got flashed 3days ago... so technically if i dont recieve anything within 2weeks of the flash. I can disregard anything that comes through after? That is sweet! Just to pick up on this, it doesn't matter whether you receive a NIP after 14 days, or even not at all, the law states that a NIP must be issued within 14 days. There's no requirement for it to ever actually reach it's destination.
  4. You'll be better off polishing your car rather than your hand.
  5. Ah, you're one of those people then, Graeme?
  6. The Autoglym stuff works well enough, it's just not quite the "best". And I just like being awkward as much as anything.
  7. If your petrol is free, you should put it in the car's petrol tank rather than wiping it all over the paint. Autosmart Tardis is better, h'actually. Fact!
  8. You have to put a lot of heat into the glass to distort it, it's not really that easy to do if you pay attention to what you're doing. If you're using something like cerium oxide to polish out the scuffs it's hard work with a rotary, harder work with a DA and it'll kill you before you make any difference by hand. G4 use;
  9. If you mean abrasion holograms (as detailed above and what I would refer to as holograms) then you'll need to polish them out or fill them with a glaze if you don't fancy polishing. If you mean oil holograms (which I would simply call smearing, personally) it's likely to be from using too much wax - spread it as thin as you can, the old adage "less is more" applies to LSP's in general. Orange Crush itself isn't the issue, but if you're using too much of it could well be. If you're having trouble removing it then you're using too much, but a spritz of QD will help and should assist to remove the smearing you've (possibly) got too.
  10. This was discussed at work today; http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201402131769968/sort/default/usedcars/make/nissan/postcode/hu13ut/radius/1500/model/350_z/page/2/price-to/5500/quicksearch/true/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew?logcode=p Appreciate it's on 100,000 miles but have prices actually dropped that much or is it just that they don't actually know what they're selling?
  11. He's local, but I'm not sure exactly where - I've spotted him in Cottingham and Kingswood not too long ago.
  12. Always... right up until I spot an Astra VXR then I just slink off in a huff knowing that I've lost at life yet again.
  13. I'm sorry but it can. The more aggressive the clay the more likely it is to cause marring, similarly if the clay is too cold as it's less pliable. It is, after all, an abrasive substance by design.
  14. Japan has 100ron, I believe.
  15. I highly recommend the Microfiber Madness IncrediSponge. Great bit of kit. The point would be this Regardless of if you're doing a full detail or a maintenance wash, ideally you want a shampoo that cleans and lubricates well. Some do both a lot better than others do either. Have a read through this and take your pick.
  16. I've used a number of them - some are better than others. The good; Mr Pink Maxi Suds II Bare Bones Speed Wipe Microfibre Wash Stripper Scent The bad; Sticky Wheel Cleaner (was a bit 'meh' rather than outright terrible) Diablo Wheel Cleaner Fabric Guard Orange Degreaser Clay Block & Luber New Car Smell air freshener
  17. I was just about to say the VP snow foam is awful. Personally, I'd swap that with the Bilt Hamber Autofoam. I'd also swap out the NXT shampoo for... well, just about anything else frankly, Dodo Juice BoB is a good shout. I'd swap the clay kit for Bilt Hamber clay too - no need for a separate lube as it works with water, it's a bigger bar and it's it's cheaper. And a little tip for you, the drying towel will dry better when it's slightly damp than it will when it's dry.
  18. That's pretty cool. Entirely pointless, but pretty cool.
  19. So, after a trip up to Atkin followed by a not-so-short jaunt yesterday (well, I had to make sure the new brakes were bedded in properly ), I've covered just over 200 miles since applying WetCoat & HydrO2, the return leg yesterday was done in mostly heavy rain and the car was still remarkably clean - most of the visible dirt was left from rain during the week which had dried off before the car moved at all so left those sandy sort of water spots. Car was cleaned today, and apart from the lower areas and behind the wheels it took no more than a snow foam to completely clean the WetCoat & HydrO2 protected areas and even then the foam was beading higher up the panels within and on the glass - the self cleaning abilities of this stuff is simply astonishing considering the completely effortless application. BSD, Reload and C2 had been reapplied to the bonnet now, so that test is back on (again). A couple of new observations on that one; Reload makes a terrible QD, it didn't touch the fresh water marks from washing in the sun today. Surprisingly BSD, the quick detailer of the group, is surprisingly poor in this respect too although it did remove some of the water marks. C2 removed more than BSD but didn't remove them all. So now there are water marks sealed on the bonnet. That's not going to bother me much... BSD is still the grabbiest to buff and takes the most effort to apply. Reload is still the easiest to apply and buff. I was more thorough in buffing C2 this time, there's no visible streaks when dry but I thought that last time too. Today's rain is imminent, so expect beading pictures shortly.
  20. Nice results, it looks great.
  21. I only bought mine because I just wanted to be cool.
  22. I got that the from someone the first time I parked my 10 year old, classic shape Impreza in the works car park. It was worth about £4.60 then! You should have seen his expression the day I pulled up in the Z. This, incidentally, was a guy who's never owned a car more than 3 years old, and at the time was driving a brand new Audi A8.
  23. That's bound to be the result of a conversation that started with the words, "I've got this cunning idea to get around paying for image rights...".
  24. Of course. It's spelt "apprentice". Oh and try Alex or Clark Motorsport for the cup holder.
