  1. Right.. power issue sorted, dont know why or how as I didnt even have to plug in a ground wire, it just turned on :/ New issue is lack of sound coming out!! what is with these cars and not wanting to work!!
  2. I noticed when i pulled the bose out, there was a ground wire attached to the metal cage, the other end was attached to nothing, I think that would of been left there from a previous install? So the loose ground wire from the ISO conversion harness just goes into a bolt on the chassis? Or does there need to be a ground wire coming out of the HU going onto a grounding point?
  3. Makes sense now, I see that there is a grounding point on the unit too, I guess that's where the earth cable attaches too...Time for a trip to Maplins and get a Soldering Iron and some solder I noticed there were a few random wires that had been installed.. I suppose from a previous owner, as there was a ground wire screwed into the cage too :/ Strange... saturday morning is going to be a busy one! Thanks for the help
  4. basically... confused. I bought this wiring loom http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/adaptor_ ... 0-260.html and it fits into the OEM clips! Excellent... but I have never seen a loom with RCA adapters on it!! Where do these go? one set of wires plugs straight in.. easy, but the others? It is also getting no power when I plug the wires in... any reason why? This is stressing me out! any help is much appreciated!
  5. This build looks awesome! The guys seem to know how to tear apart a car I was thinking how to replace the bose sub with an aftermarket one, and this looks like a great idea!

  7. it was errr... interesting... driving on those roads! had to press on as the way we had come, going back down would of been lethal!
  8. Just a couple more from todays outing... Got a few plans in mind, some hopefully to be done by Japfest Rota GTR-D's NI2 front bumper, Side skirts, Rear spats Side lights in reflector spot De-egg headlights (tried today but couldnt be bothered with the hassle to replace the bulbs!! EFFORT!) Coilovers Rear LED Lights So I've got my work cut out and my bank is not gonna be looking any healthier this time next year
  9. now they're cool! How would you go about wiring them into the sidelights though? I'm not to hot with auto-electrics
  10. Woo, just done this thanks to the guide, works well and car seems to be running much smoother! having a well earned tea and chocolate break then off to see if it has made a difference. The plugs i pulled out were screwed platinums, and replaced with fresh new denso irridiums
  11. any pics of these installed on a Zed? preferably white LED lol it just seems to me that a "reflector" is a bit pointless, i mean its the first thing that comes off a bike when you buy one.. so why should they be on a sports car, just seem like they should be lights... but aren't
  12. I was wondering if anyone has put LED "side lights / running lights" in the bit where the vertical reflectors are on the front corner of the bumper? and how much of a job it would be to actually do it, I think it could look quite alright, a bit like the shitroen DS3 style
  13. How did I know you'd be poking your head up!! Would of had these off you but £285 is just a little out of my price bracket for these

    Rear LED light

Looking for some rear LED lights, the ones that are on the newer 350z models... Can find replicas on ebay but rather not buy from the states!!
  16. Gonna have to crack on with this to get some irridium plugs in!!!
  17. The reason behind the use of it as a key ring is so that anyone can get the number providing you have your keys with you, in the event of a crash, it will be in the ignition. Out running you can tie it to a shoe lace as normally you don't like to take large clumpy things out with you in your pockets. There are many different ways of using the tag Phones can get stolen / lost and a phone can have password lock on it (as does mine) so when you're in an unconscious state who will tell the rescuer the pass code? A phone can always break or run out of battery rendering it useless, people are all too much relying on modern technology but overseeing that these things can break, where as a key ring fob the size of a tesco clubcard is very robust and doesn't run out of battery, get locked out or even stolen. Just some food for thought as I have got ICE plugged into my phone, but in my case where I needed it... phone was stolen!! Luckily I had my Gf's number on there and gave it to the services to call.
  18. http://www.icetags.co.uk/ I thought that this may be beneficial to some people, I personally have found this being useful!! After being mugged and left with nothing but my keys I was lucky enough to have an ICE tag on my key ring which helped the police call someone to come help (I was away in Uni with family over 120 miles away) But after that phone call someone was on their way! Many of us nowadays do not remember phone numbers like we used to and when caught without, you can get caught out!! One time my brother was out and lost his keys (muppet) but luckily someone found his keys and due to having an ICE tag, a police man phoned us up letting us know they have his keys! These come in handy more ways than one, and it has already been extremely beneficial in the few times I have needed them. Taken from the website: http://www.icetags.co.uk/ Note: These are not being sold by me, My uncle started this a few years ago and I thought it would be worth sharing with the Zed community as they have come in very handy for myself and other family/friends
  19. I live with my mother, but we split living costs 50/50 as I'm earning more than she is! So does work out as if you are privately renting.
  20. Hi mate, Basically i'm 21, and got my Zed last month, been awesome so far! I had a 1.0 yaris for 4 years and thought it was time for a change. Got mine for £4950 with 61k on the clock... bit of a bargain and it's running good too!! I took a bit of a gamble when I bought it not knowing if I could afford it with the increased running costs... 45 mpg down to 25mpg was a masssive shock!! I take home 1600 a month, and manage to cover what I need to on the car, so yes it is a fair bit more expensive... but damn it's worth every penny!!!!!! Go nuts, Get one
