  1. Yeah I've since nicknamed him 'scowly cat' because although he's actually incredibly friendly now and very affectionate, you wouldn't think it to look at him. He doesn't like visitors much either lol. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  2. We had a new addition a few months ago, called him ELK. It was originally ELC, but EL stands for 'Evil Little' and the third word was far too rude, so we changed it to K, for Kitten, lol. Here's a piccy of him the first day we got him, which sort of explains his name, although he was very nearly called 'Ninja' and a pic of him sat with our older Black cat Jim who's now 4. He was not a happy cat the first day we got him and whilst I've never been a fan of using the scruff to pick up animals, there really was no choice with him that day. Even the damn Husky was petrified lol.
  3. Sadly yeah, Japfest2 is per person, only Japfest @ Castle Combe is per car They only introduced it at Japfest last year because the previous year, they spent so long sorting out the tickets and the roads around Castle Combe are so poor and so few, that people were queueing for hours. I was one of them, had a track time at something like 10:20 and got into the show at around 12:30 that year.
  4. Bump - Come on folks, the more we get and the sooner we get em, the better the show is!

  6. We like to get in early and I think last year we met up at the services just down the road, somewhere around 6am, we were in the grounds by 6:30 and setting the stand up before 7. It's almost always the National track, as opposed to the GP track sadly, but it's still bloody good fun.
  7. Sorry misprint, should be £14, the extra £1 is to cover the cost of paying the show promotion company for recorded delivery on the tickets. We do this, because last year we didn't and both this show and Trax, the tickets turned up in a right state, we spent 3 hours counting out all the tickets and show stands, to make sure we had everything there.
  8. PLEASE NOTE, THERE IS NO TRACK TIME AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT! PLEASE SEE COMMENTS IN THE POST FURTHER INTO THE THREAD ON PAGE 6 REGARDING THIS. - http://www.350z-uk.c...00#entry1290389 Ok, so as well as Trax, we did this one last year, which was also quite popular with the mixed Z crowd. Again, admins, if you plan to run your own stand for this, let me know and I'll take this down, otherwise, as usual, please add your name, number of cars, number of tickets required (per person for this event) and how much track time you want, if any. 9. 24th is fine, we're in a similar boat with funds at the moment.
  10. Please put your name, the number of cars, number of passengers if any and number of track times you would like, below, to continue the list. 1. Geordie French (ZXClub.net) - 1 Car - 1 Ticket 2. 11. We can have a club stand with what we've already got, but to get a 'Z track session' we would need 40 cars to go on the track, as to book a track session all to ourselves, costs £950. Basically, if we get enough cars to book our own track session, we will do that and everyone will have one session with nothing but Zs on the track, with any subsequent sessions being a mix with the other clubs.
  12. Hopefully we can organise a Z track session yes, just depends how many sign up for the show and how quickly. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to do what zclub does, which is to pre-book and lay down their own cash, knowing it'll be a great turn out and then sell the tickets on themselves to club members. It will take £950 for a single marque track session, which will require at least 40 cars.......spread the word
  13. Yes still entitled to the early-bird ticket (Although technically it's the same price for club tickets any way), the reason the tickets are £17, is to cover the extra costs they charge us for guaranteed delivery on the tickets. We do that because last year the envelope with the tickets in got mullered and barely made it to us. You in then StevoD? Should probably start collecting the cash for this, as we want to make sure we get a good stand. Anyone willing/able to pay up now, please do so as a gift to 'paypal@zxclub.net' Ticket - £17 per person Tracktime - £30 per session
  14. I was disappointed at first too, but then I thought about it (Sitting in a field vs Throwing the Z round Silverstone) and Silverstone won.
  15. How did I know you'd be the first to reply on here and want a tonne of track time? lol
  16. Right then folks, as promised last year, zxclub.net will again be arranging a club stand at Trax and as I've already had a couple of people from here ask me about it, I thought it time to get the ball rolling with this one. Last year was all last minute, we booked late, still ended up with loads of folks on the stand, but because of the late booking, we were outside the track, rather than down near the paddock. This year, hopefully we'll get even more folks on the stand, with a better booking slot, putting us closer to the action. Please put your name, the number of cars and number of passengers below. There is ONE track session left, but there also may be Geordie Frenches 2 slots available TBC ABSOLUTE closing date for payment is 30th July. After that, you'll have to ask me or "Sexycrayola" if there are any spare stand passes and you'll have to pay full premium on the gate on the day. TRAX List. 1. Octet - 1 car - no ticket 2. We will begin meeting at 6:30, with a view to leave the services at 7am, this should get us to Silverstone for 7:30am at the latest, which hopefully will avoid the majority of the queues and get us on the stand in time to get set up before they open the gates.
  17. Retired at 28? Nice. I had an R32 GTR at 19, so it's not like I think it's impossible to pay stupid insurance prices, for silly cars, for young people, just rare to find someone else willing to do it.
  18. How the **** does a 21 year old get insured on that!?!?!?!? Forget the fact, that if you're anywhere near her age you must have inherited some serious money, or actually be a drug dealer, to be able to afford all the cars, but to afford the insurance as well........Wish I had your money. People get jealous of me for my cars, I'm gunna start pointing them at you
  19. Not an easy fix to put it back if you do it properly, lol. Our Z32 has it removed and the hole for the wiper motor has been welded up, never to be used again
  20. Oh I agree there's nothing better than a placebo for making someone 'think' that something is better. Whilst I also agree with you that there is very little of the additive going in there, I don't agree that you can in any way call them, the same. I gave the cookie analogy before, which is a very simplified analogy, but illustrates the point very well. If the first cookies extra ingredients involved say sugar replacements, whereas the second cookies ingredients were all sugar based, the taste of and the effect of each cookie on your digestive system, energy levels and the effects on your waistline would be very very different, even if the amounts used were small enough to go into a cookie and more importantly for the illustration, small enough that you couldn't see them with the naked eye (i.e. < 2-3%). My point here is not that vPower is better than momentum - Fact, lol. My point is that you cannot describe two things that are chemically different, as the same. My point is also, you cannot claim that 2 octane isn't a lot, if it wasn't a lot, then it wouldn't matter if we drove our Zs on 95 octane, instead of 97, would it? If 97 octane makes enough difference for the manufacturers and people like Ekona to warn against people running a Z on 95 octane altogether, then do you not agree, that with the knowledge that higher octane burns more efficiently, cleaner, with less waste, that 99 octane must therefore be better than 97? So if we do agree this and I assume we do, as it's a scientific fact then the only argument that can be had, is over the additives in Momentum 99 vs the additives in vPower +Nitro, because we automatically agree that BP Ultimate and Esso 97 Premium are crap in comparison. The argument between the two 99 octane fuels, is one that we cannot really make, because we don't know the secret ingredients and as you point out, there are no scientifically published studies into which is better for your car, or performance in general. I'd say the two are much of a muchness, as they both have 99 octane, therefore better than any other 'premium fuel' out there in terms of efficiency. Both have extra additives which claim to clean your engine and claim to aid performance. What we can say, is that cars will react differently to the two fuels and certainly if the car is mapped to run on Shell and you put Tesco in it. Unless someone scientifically proves which is the better fuel, I'll go with the 99 octane fuel made by the company who supply race fuel extensively to the Motorsport industry and I'll continue to have a generally unfounded (But unscientifically tested by me) belief that the Tesco stuff probably isn't very good, because it's Tesco, lol.
  21. I'm a programmer and an IT engineer, so for me, logic, science and facts rule. My tests were for my own benefit to find out which was the best in my opinion, not to prove it to others one way or another. I've run these tests purely out of curiosity and in the search of the best driving combination. The reason I mention them here, is purely to illustrate the ECU learning curve, which is a fact and not a myth, modern ECUs learn as they go. It is perfectly valid to say that claiming they are the same is invalid. As I've said, once additives are added, the chemical structure of the liquid becomes different, they are therefore, instantly, not the same. This is not a guess, this is not a myth, this is a scientific fact. Whether those additives make any difference once the fuel goes through your engine, I'd say considering how tight the laws are in this country on false advertising, they do. Considering the majority of the drivers out there will use any unleaded they can find cheaply and many don't even look at the prices and just stick the nozzle in the tank regardless, the market for premium fuels isn't a huge one, this is why only the bigger players put the R&D time and money into developing them. You ever driven into a Jet, Texaco, Gull, Murco etc. and seen a heavily advertised premium fuel, that claims to clean your engine, reduce emissions, reduce detonation, etc.? No, of course you haven't. Shell, BP, Tesco and now Esso are the only people who claim to have superior premium-fuel. BP don't really shout about it, nor do Tesco, only Esso and Shell make a big deal out of it, to try and target the comparatively very small performance car market. What HAS been proven, is that higher octane fuel burns more efficiently. This is scientifically proven, it's also why manufacturers insist performance cars run on high octane, premium fuel. The trade descriptions act covers any false claims of higher octane fuel, not actually being higher octane (It's actually the law to publish what octane rating the fuel has.........which means if Ultimate comes from the same distribution center as vPower, somewhere before it hits the forecourt, an extra 2 octane is added to it) so you tell me, considering it IS true that the fuel all begins the same when the tankers collect it, but at the pump IS a higher octane, do you genuinely believe that there is no difference between them when you put them in your car? As I've said before, if you run your car on Momentum all the time, it's probably going to be fine, same with Ultimate, vPower, Esso premium, etc. But the simple fact is, if you then change it, your car WILL react differently, there is simply no argument to this, it's not theory, it's fact. We know the octane ratings are different, it is a fact and we know the engine will burn different Octane fuel in a different way, this is a fact too and we know that the ECU will read the sensors in the engine and re-map itself to compensate, this is also a fact.......I can't really make it any more simple than that. There's nothing uneducated going on here, it's simply piecing facts together and making 4 from the equation of 2+2.
  22. It is, because I'd rather he'd been hit by a car accidentally, than deliberately poisoned by someone who should be put down....if that makes sense? Unfortunately, there was no blood whatsoever and he was stiff as a board, which means rigamortis obviously set in very fast, which tends to happen with poisons I'm told?
  23. Love the S30 so much. It's on my 'to-buy' list, just like the 350 and 370 are, one day, lol. I think we're eventually planning on having the full range of Z cars. I can't quite place why, don't think anyone can, but there's just something about Z cars that gets under your skin.
  24. Always a flash or a wave from me if I'm in one of the Zs and neither is a 350 or a 370. 90% of the time I get a flash back too, which is great. Z cars didn't start with the 350 and it's nice when you see 350 owners who know that. I've had 350 owners come up to me in car parks and talk to me too, it's how I met Ken for the first time lol
