  1. At the moment no, it'll be mixed sessions, as we don't have enough people coming yet. If enough people go on the list and want track time, we may be able to organise a Z only session, but people will have to be quick or that option will disappear. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  2. Yup me too, completely against organised religion, but would never presume to tell a religious person they were not entitled to their view. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  3. This attitude that if you don't agree when a liberal white person shouts racist, you must be one, is what has ruined this country. I for one am sick of it. You want to see casual racism that actually is offensive and disgusting, go live in NZ for a while, the place is full of it, from both sides and the majority of them have no idea their thoughts are a problem. 4. Sorry, but yes, calling for every incident of casual (read accidental) (read unintentional) (read by very definition therefore not) racism to be answered with an arrest, job losses and compensation to the crown, does make you a wet lefty and it makes you part of the problem. If anything, the fact you're so acutely aware of it, really makes you more racist than the person who didn't actually realise it was offensive. Your second point is partially true, but in reality, the person calling you a bell end, is really the person who makes that judgement, not the person being called a bell end. If it were the person being called a bell end who got to judge, there would be no bell ends and then what would we do!? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  5. Not set a deadline yet but we will update the thread when we do. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  6. Warning - Next time destroy the tape idiot.
  7. lol No I'm familiar with it, it was just Geordie constantly sliding under a door for like 3 minutes though, lol.
  8. Will WTF was that video about? lol
  9. LMAO I'm really sorry, but you're hatred for Clarkson is clearly getting in the way. Look, I know full well that I'd sing that rhyme off the cuff, just purely because it's something from my childhood, I know because I've done it. I never meant anything racist by it as a child and I certainly don't now! I would use it to pick between two things, just like Ip Dip Dog @*!#.... I do the same thing with hymns I sang when I was a child and limericks I used to hear. I'm seriously not being funny now, he's done nothing wrong. He began reciting a simple rhyme we've all heard, yes whilst on camera, but not on a live set, in a recorded segment he has full editorial control over if he wants it! You've admitted the man is a buffoon, should all buffoons get a criminal record for buffoonery? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  10. Lol thank you for the car compliments. I really think you misunderstood my comments though. I'm not saying that if he'd televised this it wouldn't be terrible, it would. But he didn't. He actively went out of his way to make sure it wasn't, because he realised at the time, despite his love of courting close to the bone, this was TOO close to it. If I was in the middle of something else and starting to sing the same rhyme, which as I've stated already, I used in junior school with the N word in it, then realised I really shouldn't do that and mumbled the N word, then had the editor make sure it was not aired, am I guilty of deliberately inciting racism? NO. I think perhaps your distaste for Clarkson may be clouding your judgement here. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  11. LOL I would, but we already put a fair bit of effort into keeping the facebook page up to date and occasionally update the much less detailed build thread on zclub.net. We decided early on, that the Facebook page was the best place for the build to go, as although I know not everyone uses it, lots of people do and it means people from all of the numerous forums we're on (We're on quite a few, lol) can simply put a like on it and follow the progress there, without having to copy and paste it across numerous sites
  12. LOL yes I can see how that would appear ironic. But, I'm not saying everything is ok, I'm simply saying that there are plenty of issues of genuine racism that need to be dealt with, like my ex-neighbour, who continually told me that his DOG was a racist, because it barked at the Nigerian family that lived behind us and no one else. I continually tried to tell him, that his dog barked at EVERYONE who walked past, but he was having none of it. Now the simple fact is, he's what I refer to as a 'harmless old racist', because he's not acting on his thoughts and his thoughts are not of hate, not even of dislike, just burned into him from a very young age and he's learned to kerb these thoughts ever coming out of his mouth, except when he's talking to a white guy, with blonde hair, blue eyes and a white family, where he suspects his comments won't be frowned upon. He's never going to cause offence to the Nigerian family, I brought the issue up with them when we moved out and they assured me, he'd never been anything but polite to them, would happily hold a conversation with them and has even in the past helped them when they were in need (Leant them a mower I believe). She (The wife/mother of the family) is actually the one who put the phrase 'harmless old racist' in my head. As she said, he's a 'harmless old racist', he has racist thoughts, in the sense that he probably believes they are 'different' or possibly even in some way 'inferior' to him, but he's not doing anyone any harm and you CANNOT police peoples thoughts. You can tell them how to act, you can tell them to apologise for saying something they later realise is perhaps racist or may have caused offence, you can tell them to make sure what they said on camera never hits the airwaves, but you CANNOT, stop them thinking what they want to think and you cannot criminalise people who say things that were never intended to go public. Just to clarify that last point, some of UKIPs candidates have recently AGAIN been dragged into the news for racist views. The one I'm going to pick on is the South African guy, who described Muslims as animals, Nigerians as generally horrible people etc. Should he be removed from the candidate list for UKIP? Yes. Should he be removed from the ballot paper entirely, even as an independent? Yes, I think he should, we don't need or want someone with those views in any position of power, be it nationally, or locally. Should he be arrested though? No, he's South African, where those views are common place amongst whites and blacks have similar views about the whites. He's from a different place, where the views and opinions he's expressed, are pretty regular and almost to be expected. He's been drawn over the coals, if he didn't realise before that you just can't say stuff like that here in the UK, he certainly does now, leave it at that.
  13. Possible, but sadly unlikely. The floor is shot, the roof is shot on one corner, the firewall is shot, one of the suspension turrets is shot, the chassis rails are shot.......if I can engineer a week off work to go down to the unit and spend some solid time on it, then quite possibly. The interior is mostly done, bar a carpet and boot trim, the bolts are almost completely de-rusted and zinced and polished, the bodykit is all sanded, filled, primered and ready to be fitted, etc. It's really just the shell that needs sorting now, with a few things left to de-rust and shine up etc. then put it all back together. I also haven't yet built the engine, but do have everything I need to do so.
  14. I do Here's a quick mockup the wife did of how we expect the rear end to look when it's done: Anyone who's on facebook and wants to closely follow the resto, we have a page on Facebook dedicated to it, even down to acid dipping and then zinc plating the nuts and bolts If you stick a 'like' on the page, you'll get updates as and when we add stuff. https://www.facebook.com/Kamicon280ZX
  15. For what it's worth: 1) I'm the youngest of 7 siblings, the eldest three are 'mixed race', British, Indians. 2) My best friend in Junior school was called Khalid and was from Sri Lanka 3) My favourite TV show growing up was a little show on Channel 4 called Desmonds 4) My eldest sister married an Egyptian Muslim and had two 'mixed race' kids who are British, Indian and Egyptians 5) I work with a Muslim guy called Akeem from Nigeria and an Hindu guy called Kamal from India 6) My step daughter is a Lesbian 7) I used the rhyme at school with the N word in it, without realising it's meaning 8) I felt 'odd' the other day when someone I know is NOT a racist, used the phrase "Nigger in the woodpile" on the phone to me 9) I do NOT feel that Clarkson was in any way being racist and because I used that same rhyme at school, could easily have made the same Gaff. 10) I'm white, blonde haired, blue eyed, straight and voting UKIP I am NOT A F%#!ING RACIST, nor a bigot and I am SICK and TIRED of the morons in this country, who insist on making mountains out of molehills and issues out of nothing! The Gay Marriage thing was another one, I couldn't give a flying f%#! if gay people can get married or not, I really don't care. Were I an MP, or had there been a referendum, I'd have abstained from a vote, for the simple reason I care not about the outcome, that's their issue and it's up to them to push it, only they didn't did they? The people who did, are the wet lefty liberal STRAIGHT people! I asked a gay friend of mine who owns a 300zx the other day, if he and his civil partner were going to get married now that they can, you know what he said? "No of course not, marriage is between a man and a woman!". I laughed and corrected him, then realised WTF I was doing! That is HOW f%#!ed up this world is now, me, a straight guy, started telling my gay friend that his opinion of marriage was wrong, because he thought it didn't apply to him! Someone summed it all up earlier in this thread "If the Mirror had never shown the footage, surely no one would have been offended?". He's absolutely ****ing BANG ON! Clarkson isn't the one to blame here, if anyone is offended, blame the Mirror! If you believe TG is scripted, then the script writer is to blame for the original footage and it explains why Clarkson tried to mumble the word, then decided it was just too close to the bone to be aired. If you believe it's spontaneous, Clarkson gaffed because he's an old git, who used the N word in the rhyme at school, then made sure it wasn't aired and realised his mistake. Either way, this is a NON ISSUE and it's @*!# like this, that stirs up the bloody BNP and the EDL and the National Front etc. Pack it the **** in!
  16. Cheers for the responses guys. As it happens, I want either Burnt Orange or Azure Blue, the wife wants Brick Yard Red but would be happy with either of the other two, lol. I will initially be buying it as a daily, but considering my other two Zs, I doubt very much it'll stay standard for long lol. For those who haven't seen my other Zs. Unfortunately, as the 280 is mid-resto, it currently looks like this:
  17. Obviously I'm going to do some of my own research, but I'm seriously considering buying a 350z as a daily drive, so that my 300 and my 280 (when it's finished) can be kept up to scratch for shows and track days etc. But I still get to drive a Z car every day. What recommendations do we have for buying one that's likely to do 90 miles per day, 5 days per week? In other words, are there reliability differences between the engine years? Not set a budget yet, but probably around £5k. I don't want to spend too much on the car itself unless it's got brand new tyres, full MOT etc. As it's a lot of mileage to put on a car and the last couple of dailies I've had, were dirt cheap to buy, but needed an awful lot of work and parts almost immediately. 18. Indeed, I think there are a few doing that.
  19. I used to enjoy the show at Billing, didn't go to any at the venue between Billing and Wicksteed, but I hate Wicksteed park and for my personal preference, I would rather be hooning it around Silverstone at Trax and enjoying the sheer adrenaline of the event, than sitting in a wet field all weekend, lol. We did attend last year, as it was a different weekend to Trax, but I got bitten by something that caused an infection on the Friday and spent most of that day in hospital, then the Saturday was an ok day and Sunday the wind and rain came in hard, so we left early. I must stress I'm only giving my opinion here and my experience last year, it's a big show and tends to get a big turn out, just not my bag. Japfest is probably the biggest Jap show of the year for my money, which is again just a one day event at a Race Track.
  20. I don't think I've got enough sessions to ruin my tyres, but yes it's always a concern of mine on these track days as well.
  21. No issue from my side of things and it's not a jap specific show or anything, so as far as I'm aware, all cars are allowed onsite and on the stand. I just need to put him down as a participant to remember to order his stand pass and therefore reserve a space for him. Sadly with Trax the tickets are per person and not per car, so without me asking them to issue a stand pass they'll just send one and a ticket.
  22. You can pay by sending the appropriate monies as a gift, to paypal@zxclub.net via PayPal. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  23. Nice one folks, will update the list later when I'm back on a PC. Any more? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  24. There's plenty to do during the day, for one thing there's people walking around the show and asking you about your car, but you can also walk around yourself, look at the other stands, trade stands, etc. It's a great show and we had a blast last year. Was also a SUPER hot day last year.
  25. Bump, come on folks, let's keep adding to the list, the earlier we get a good list of peeps, the earlier we can provisionally book and the better spot we'll get.
