    De-smugged

Take a wee detour through the city airport. The wee tunnel when you're leaving back onto the slip road is just the right length for a run in 2nd within the speed limit obviously R
  4. http://www.cwherald.com/archive/archive ... 290890.htm Last time I looked the prison diary on PH had been removed. This was a local paper at the time I believe Not trying to get at the OP, but it makes you think twice about what you post!
  5. Had my car 9 months. I've done 8000 miles since then and averaged 24.1 overall. But it's 24.1 with a HUGE grin on my face. If it makes any difference to you I moved from a wrx ipreza which did 28.4mpg, over a year it costs about an extra £420 quid in petrol. That's about £8 a week. TBH tho It's not how I'd decide which car to buy. Good luck R
  6. On the ramps at 0900. Back in the house drinking tea at 1000 job done. Nice one mate. Good guide
  7. Are you trying to read the code or reset the ecu? If your just resetting it and the light is coming back on then I'd suggest you need to read the code to troubleshoot. It's tricky to get the peddle dance right, keep trying. A search on here will give you a table for what the codes mean. If your stuck do you know anyone with an Obd2 code reader? I can get hold of one but I won't be anywhere near dungannon till the end of next week, if your still struggling then I can meet you. R.
  8. Completely gutted for you mate but at least no one hurt. Sorry to interrupt the thread with a total track newbie question. Who pays for the barrier? I had a bad smash a few years ago (mixture of freak circumstances and 14hr shifts that finish at 0400 melting my ability to adapt - lesson learnt) and got a bill for 28k from the roads service! Have to say I didn't even reply just forwarded to insurance company. I imagine tracks have their own cover for this stuff? Hope you can save her mate. R
  9. I had realised that they are within the Nissan limits but those are for the less viscous oil. my concern is caused by (a) the oil consumption rate that up to about 10k miles ago was essentially zero ( oil pressure is consistently about 10 psi lower than it used to be, it never used to go below 30 psia © sluggish acceleration in which I had trouble pulling away from a Golf TDi that was trying to hitch a ride this morning. Get her checked out properly mate, otherwise your second guessing yourself.
  10. You should be able to if you get the photobucket app.
  11. Sorry to revive such an old post. Is anyone doing this work at the minute? I'm looking at fitting halos to create room for some alternating green strobes (for work call outs) where the sides currently go. R

    Rattling Cat

Got this sorted, the culprit was a fracture in the cat housing. The bracket that attaches to the support had broken away. All fixed and I can now enjoy the noise of my nismo back box again thanks to NeilP for the parts
  13. Original/oem clutch/fly still in there?
  14. If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour... you're gonna see some serious s***

    Rattling Cat

Started to notice a little rattle during the week which sounded to me like a heat shield. I thought id take a look today to try and sort it out. However before I got the chance I got a fault code on the dash yesterday. Plugged in the reader and it said O2 sensor for bank 2. I cleared the code and it hasn't come back. Under the car today the heat shields look fine but I can get a rattle by thumping the cat pretty hard. With the fault code coming on I'm wondering if this may be the a problem inside the cat itself rather than a heat shield. Anyone able to offer any insight? Rob
  16. 29k 2007 and did mine last week. Zmanalex helped me out with the fluids and moly slip. Made a noticeable difference. Easy job mate, I used the lifts in a DIY garage and have to say it was geat for the small extra cost.
  17. Plus if you pay more tax it means you have more right to be on the road and people should just get out of he way!

    Murky diff oil

Changed the gearbox and diff oil today. Hired a lift space in the local diy garage which made life much easier for 12 quid The gearbox oil looked in good order when it came out, the diff oil however looked a bit murky/opaque and there was a small amount of swarf on the sump plug? Would you expect this after 29K miles? I got the car with 22K on it and i certainly dont think my driving style would punish it too much.
  19. Had the car on the ramps today for a service and thought i might as well have a quick bash at this. 20 minute job. And have to say the click is definitely gone. Hopefully it stays that way, if not its still been worth a try.
  20. Nice motor mate! I was hoping to get to this but ended up in work "healing" the revellers from Bangor on an Easter monday. (waiting till they wake up so their ma/da can trail them out saying "wait till I get you home!") MIght take a wonder over to the maze on 28th
