    Shame on you.

Well if he was i would like to add. 3. Taking up a pump while doing your shopping!
  2. 1. No super on that pump. 2. Your cars boggin! (ok fair cop i only washed mine yesterday for first in a couple of weeks )
  3. Biting point suddenly just off the floor, above the bite point the pedal movement is very light, it's not stuck to the floor like I'd expect. Plenty of fluid, not slipping, selecting gears ok. Pedal feels totally normal in neutral. A couple of times last week I got the sense the bite was maybe inconsistent. Thought it was just my poor clutch control. Any ideas? 45k on the car, no problems with slipping etc.

    Failed MOT!!!

First option would be have a wee look underneath and see if there are cats in there. If you're not sure what you're looking do you know the guy you bought it from? is there anything in the service hx or receipts for new cats? If the car was on standard cats it would be less likely to be a problem for MOT.

    Failed MOT!!!

Why did you need spacers? Are you using hi flow cat or decat pipes?
  6. One them actually did, thought it'd look a bit uneven on the zed tho! If it had been anything other than dust caps if have set them to get their parents but sure they're only kids, hopefully the embarrassment was enough an they'll not feel so put out that I get my car egged or something. Funny thing is I distinctly remember getting a clip round the head for hiding behind/under some guys car when I was a kid playing hide and seek!
  7. Okay a few months ago I ranted about the lack of respect shown to my car, door dings and the like, some wee scabs steeling my nice shiny dust caps. I got over it quick enough replaced and repaired and forgot all about it. Almost :-p I came home this afternoon in the mrs car and caught the wee beggars in the act trying to get the dust caps again today! They legged it when I came round the corner and left their bikes, which obviously I took inside until they came back a little red faced and apologised. Honestly if I wasn't trying not to laugh so hard I woulda been annoyed but couldn't really give them too hard a time they were about 12 lol. So hopefully if I got the balance right my next rant wont be about my car being keyed!
  8. Top up ASAP, Why does the light come on late though, surely car manifacturers could make a sensor that comes on when you need it without being so low you'll do damage?
  9. It'll be grand once I get out for a drive I'll forget about it, the shape of the doors doesn't help but even so it's not hard to get out of your car without touching the car next especially if its parked right on the end of a row to give you lots of room as mine nearly always is! As for the valve caps, I'll keep an eye out for the local kids with nice shiny ones on their bikes
  10. In the last 6 weeks I've had my door dinged twice, my front wing scuffed (all after i left her in for a paint correction) and someone has now stolen my valve caps. I'm really feel like not washing it any more as I just seem to find another new mark every time I do. Never had this with the impreza, what's wrong with people! If I didn't enjoy driving her so much I'd buy a shed instead!
  11. Agree with the above, have to say though i loved mine (a facelift classic), it was big, ignorant, sounded great and could be packed to the gills with camping gear, climbing gear and a kayak and push on pretty well. If you want to tune it's good value for power too. The interior definitely wasn't the reason I bought it, but actually wouldn't put me off another. Horses for courses. I'm still happier in the zed for now!
  12. I had a wrx impreza before my zed. Both stock engines. The wrx feels a little quicker off the line, you miss the turbo noise too. Both cars I find very similar performance 60 but the zed pulls away after that and the whole thing is silky smooth.. I find a big difference in the feel of the whole driving experience too. I don't want to thrash my zed. It's a fast gt car and I use the power when needed and enjoy the ride. The impreza just wanted to be driven all the time and I often felt a bit fried when I arrived at the end of a drive. Also I'm not an outstanding driver, the impreza could be driven fast by anyone where the zed needs a little more respect. It's taught me a lot about driving. 18 months later I don't regret changing for a second, though if I had the money I would definitely Look at FI again.
  13. Sorry to hear this. Hopefully he recovers and you can finish it together.

    Tyre availability

All sorted, Conti's now fitted, haven't had the weather for anything very spirited but road noise seems a little better and so far they've been sure-footed despite the state of the roads here!
  15. Ran eagle f1 assymetrics on my impreza and on my zed till last week, quality tyres, only changed because I had bother sourcing them in 275/35/19
  16. I added 2, or else 3 x0.5L top ups between changes last time (about 7000 miles). I think I remember reading different spec oils can make a difference in consumption too.
  17. Strange thing about car prices, I've a mate who recently bought a 911 turbo from the mainland and saved a pretty hefty sum compared to what was going for sale here in the previous 9-12 months. Can't argue with the price of that though! Good find.
  18. Really, are my sums bad or does that mean you need to fill up about 40 miles sooner in your x5 if you leave the ac on? So your ac burns more than 3 gallons of fuel per tank? That can't be right surely?

    Tyre availability

Just got a call to confirm they are in the garage now and they're doing me a bit of deal on a 4 wheel alignment. Wasn't so much the wait as being told they were ready to go and then turning up to find they couldn't even give me a date that annoyed me. Still all seems to be sorted now and hopefully worth the wait.

    Tyre availability

Spent some time online sourcing tyres for my 19s. Currently running eagle f1s all round at 245/35 and 275/35. I eventually settled on some conti contact sports ordered and payed for online and shipped to a local centre. Now waiting nearly 3 weeks! First they were on back order from the factory (not stated on the site at the time) and now snow causing a delay too. I asked them to source alternatives (but that I would only accept a decent alternative like f1s or Michelin ps) but apparently my tyres are a strange size and hard to get?!? If I hadn't paid the money I'd have walked away long ago but apparently they'll be fitted Monday. Anyone else experienced difficulty with availability in this tyre size or (as I suspect) I'm being told a load of BS?
  21. Yea i thought it was steep too but hey thats what insurance is for i guess. Was A VW Bora which I lot control of going through roadworks and hit central reservation on motorway. My own fault for driving home at 0430 after a 14hr shift in a&e, I didn't react enough when the lorry in front hit cones and scattered them in front of the car. Took out 2 sections of armco. Most of bill was for having to close a lane on motorway etc. I'm just thankful there was no workers there and no one behind me . I walked away after climbing into the back to get out. My fiancée changed her car a while back, needless to say we got a vw, safe car. I was using the bora as a daily drive, had an impreza at the time, prob wouldn't have been as lucky in that!
  22. Fair play Adam, looks like you got a good result. To give you an idea I had a single vehicle accident 6 years ago with 4 years protected no claims. It finally came off my 5 year declaration this year and my insurance dropped from £770 to £370 without moving company. So including excess it cost probably about £2500 to make a claim for a car worth £2000. Glad I did though, 6 months later I got a bill from the roads service for 21K! Sent to the insurance company. No hassle. Guess maybe 2.5K over 5 years wasn't so bad!
  23. +1 Speed matters but you can still drive like muppet within the speed limit. I see a lot more accidents round towns in rush hour than at 0400 in the morning. Tho the 0400 specials are usually much worse.
  24. Had a free hour this evening and decided to nip out and fit my new intake (thanks to Tamac). Was fairly straight forward and I'm well pleased with the results (noise)! Am a little concerned tho that the housing seems to be either very close to, or resting gently against one of the air con pipes. Anyone else's the same? Was a really snug fit and took a fair bit of fiddling around so not mad keen to start pulling it out and trying again if its normal! R
