  1. Why shouldn't I,seems like a good idea. Any reason why it shouldn't be upgraded,I ask out of ignorance concerning the Z. More money for no better performance, the standard clutch does the job fine You'd be better putting the money into braided hoses, plenum spacer etc. IMO Done that already, its the under bonnet heat that causes the clutch problem. With a thinner f/wheel,it should disperse quicker. Is there a plenum spacer for the 313 engine?
  2. I touched up a couple of places on the Rev/ Speedo pod tops. Halfords high temp Satin Black is a perfect match.
  3. BHP=MPH. Torque= Acceleration. So does this mean the 313 is the better car?
  4. Why shouldn't I,seems like a good idea. Any reason why it shouldn't be upgraded,I ask out of ignorance concerning the Z.
  5. Well, that week turned into two,SO glad I decided against selling it.Got to sort the clutch though, thinking in terms of a solid lightweight flywheel/fast road clutch now. Anyone using this set up?
  6. As it was a BM probably some stupid tart taking the little princess out.
  7. All the sort of reports I had hoped for! Does the hot fluid problem improve? Have replaced to fluid with RBF,and it has improved, but touring around the Eifel villages as we have these last two weeks [in between work!]
  8. OK,thanks Alex,can you recommend a suitable f/wheel/clutch supplier? lol
  9. Right, decided that [as there were no takers] and really dont want to become a member of the "M3 Set",I am keeping my 07 313 Z. BUT,as the car will be coming to Germany with our impending move over there,I want to change the clutch and fit a lightweight Flywheel as I'm sure the Dual Mass retains too much heat. Looking for advice on what route to take pleaase.
  10. With the greatest respect, can you DRIVE it properly? Only asking as the Z is a pretty quick and responsive handling car as is.But sometimes simply driving then correctly brings about the biggest improvements
  11. Black Z in the Grune Holle car park 2nd Aug?
  12. Sounds like you are braking way too late and possibly still on the brake when you turn in? Get it ALL done in a straight line,Brake,Gear, off the brakes, ease it into the corner, dont just yank it around. I would try this route before throwing plenty of hard earned at the car, because it might not be the car.
  13. Yes,it does take more than two laps to learn, but once you have its the most fantastic 21 kilometers of tarmac you can drive! Armco will run out about €1600 per meter should you like to find out how strong it is! The Ring is a public road and German Traffic Laws should be obeyed. Dangerous? yes it can be if your trying too hard and not looking in your mirrors or far enough ahead NEVER ever go there and expect to be quick first time round, forget about Clarksons run,you didnt see the amount of coaching/instruction he had before hand, nope,he's NOT a Driving God! Just a very good entertainer. The Nurburgring is there as it has been since 1927 [23 it was only half of what it is now, used as a manufacturers test track.] So,if you get the chance to come over and drive it,do so because you'll not forget it.
  14. If you look at the plastic h/light covers you'll see a small moulded in dot,I think that denotes to top of the beam bender. Have some in my car somewhere, bought the two years ago, still not fitted them! Lol. DONT forget the two high vis waist coats [to be kept within easy reach] & Warning triangle.I make several trips a year and never been [caught] stopped, just keep it sensible and you'll be fine.If you venture into Belgium, the speed limit there is 70 mph,[well, thats close enough] as opposed to the 83mph in France [130 kph].We go back to Germany Saturday,8am out of Dover on DFCF,thoroughly recommend them! Tunnels great but I refuse to be ripped off!
  15. Would have said that whats been done is enough, the discs have obviously reached decent temperatures along with the pads.
  16. Only bought mine because they used to be only one other, owned by a young woman in Tescos. Now there are more of us than M3s! [the car no one really want to own.
  17. The only reason I didnt sell mine is because I cant think of any other car I would have! I do like the M3 but I'm not sure if I would want to be looped into that stereotype (sorry!) I do however look the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, but I hear they break easily + they're expensive. Only other options would be a 911 or Caterham or Honda S2000. but for now, the Zed has it! Quite agree, mine's staying as well! Off to the Ring on Saturday,Spa Monday, then looking for property in the Nurburg area till following Saturday. Possibly wont take too much notice of consumption, but then again.
  18. Been using Peek for several years, perspex windows respond really well, and its perfect on alloy
  19. Seems like a good idea=07 350Z 313. CB7.
  20. Some interesting comments-I was fully expecting to get slated!LoL. Z monster, interesting theory on reselling, been trying to sell mine for a couple of weeks now,BUT,not really sure if thats the right thing to do. What to replace it with, has to be rear wheel drive, decent power and so on. Points to an M3 really but as the track test proved the Z to have better handling/generally nicer car to drive [yes I drive M3s on a regular basis] not too sure fuel would be so nicely used as my time in the BMW is on-track so couldn't really comment! Major plus point as well is the comparative rarity compared to the BMW.Now starting to think that maybe I should keep it. Certainly would not have the lesser powered Z.Any comparison on fuel figures for the 276bhp cars?
  21. I bought my 07 313 two years ago,I have to admit at being a little shocked when the trader told me how much the tax cost, that I had requested him to renew! Expecting it to be around 250/270 mark. However,as I am a regular commuter over to Nurburg for my work,I am pleasantly surprised at the economy of the car after reading that quite a few owners only get around 350ish miles to a tank full of 80ltrs. Door to door Nurburg ,to Ely Cambs is 757 Kilometers ,I fill up at the fuel station opposite the ring and generally dont need to refill later the next day.Now that comes out at around 10k per litre, which I think is pretty respectable considering that the car cruises at around 85mph there and back on the m ways/autobahns. So,the question is "is it false economy buying the lesser powered engined car, just to save on Road Fund"? I'll wait with baited breath.
  22. Hi Danny, cant say I've seen yours about, but I'll keep an eye out.
  23. Funny how some dealers get away with wrong size or faulty tyres. Bought mine two years ago from a company in Norwich. All four tyres were of different make but as I have access to decent discount on tyres,I thought, what the hell,I have a new set eventually. Just as well I did, three of the originals had illegal repair patches! Not plugs as they should have been. Talked to the dealer, naturally they said "its not down to us",we dont take every tyre off to check it"! After a rather long discussion about the fact that they had sold a car in a possibly dangerous condition etc etc but still there was no bending. I then got in touch with those nice caring Trading Standards people, guess what, they couldnt give a stuff! Moto being, all odd tyres? Walk away.
