  1. I saw one of these lovely beasts on the A42 northbound on saturday. Just appeared out of nowhere, hung around on my tail for a minute or two, then realised I wasn't going to play and then he sped off. Never seen the MP4-12c in real life before, and now I am impressed.
  2. Have you checked for any stiction in the hinges as it opens? Perhaps a good greasing might help here. Also I'd say try and fine tune your latch plate placement. Do all the free mods first before changing parts if you can help it mate, then at least you're not out of pocket when it doesn't work.
  3. Why stop at 2?? I say one per cylinder is a bare minimum
  4. I parked at "every little helps" in Ashby late the other night to pick up some grub, in the Z. Huge carpark designed for a couple fo thousand cars or so. Well out in the open, left it there. Yet when I come out, there it is, some random red fiesta ST decided it was a good idea to plonk on the line in the space next to my driver's door. When there's acres of spaces, and this was a good long walk from the shop front/door anyway... Point being, you can never guarantee, you can only be a limited amount of careful. So what's the point in getting too worried?
  5. You were heading in the North direction, only just spotted you. I was in my Black Z '57 plate going the other way towards swindon. Must have been just outside northleach on the litte chicane type section that's lined by trees. Lovely day for a "nice drive" it was...
  6. No need to get that excited! :-P
  7. They're not great, but generally if you leave it alone it sorts itself out. Worst that can happen is a tiny slop forward once you've turned it all off.
  8. Correct. There was to be a Jag prototype that never happened...then the design was taken in and became the Aston. I can't remember the project code as I'm still doped up from being ill, but I'll ask around the office, one of the odl boys will know. Luckily not my house! That one there has a team of jack russell terriers that like to yap whenever one of the (many) rudeboys in their 206s with massive exhausts drive by...lovely when you're trying to sleep. When I get home I'll upload a couple of pics of the interior (not great and don't show much) but you'll see what was nice. Obviously as I'm sure we can all appreciate I'm not putting the videos onto the internet.... Lovely to drive. Took it and the mrs up to york, just as it chucked it down with snow. Was like I'd slept the whole way. Seats adjustable in every possible manner....nice temperature to the heated steering wheel, multi-zone climate, seat massager etc etc. Shame that the guy who keeps it running is a pleb. I saw him when i dropped it off and mentioned "you know the steering's off by 20° or so.." "yeah, it probably is...". Tut Tut. Only other thing was it was a left hooker. But I didn't care...it was awesome. Anyone who's seen those nitrous scenes in fast and furious films etc will know what it's like when you stick your foot down in that!!!
  9. Had one of these amazing machines (my favourite saloon) for a whole weekend back in Jan. Unfortunate in one way that it made the Z now feel a bit slow ! Loved it though....pure opulence, and a weekend of free fuel at that. You kinda need it with a 5L supercharged V8. So much better all round than the XF in my view.
  10. I have heard they will publish Oscar Pistorius' life story once he has finished writing his memoirs in prison. It will be titled "Shinless' List"...
  11. I saw this dude on youtube just at the weekend. Turns out he had that amazing talent known for a long time and went to drugs and booze and ruined himself. Am sure it's now one of those american "hopes and dreams restored" stories. Old dude with the spoons to faithless is just class. My fave is Bill Bailey's trick...
  12. Mk5 Escort, home made convertible. Complete jobs all over it, stickers with quotes, mad alloys all kerbed, pink and white checker pattern (it's a navy blue car), names on top of the windscreen, and it's an absolute state anyway. Big wing on the back, not fitted properly, huge front valance, etc etc. Damn forgot to upload yesterday. Will add a new topic so as not to crowd this one. Haven't seen Stav in a while though, wonder if it's blown up on him or something.
  13. This still isn't as good as "STAV" around Coventry. I keep meaning to get a snap but only normally see him whilst driving to work. I do wonder if he's having a laugh or on a long term bet - maybe this guy's doing the same...?
  14. Looks like the workshop misunderstood when they said "I want it tuned......." I'll get my coat....
  15. "THIS CAR IS MANUAL AND AUTO TIPTRONIC". Wow, two gearboxes - gotta love the tuning options there. Apparently it's been a vehicle produced by Ken Bell - was that in a former life?
  16. Ta very muchly! So it looks like you need to save each number individually if you want to call by name rather than reciting the number or fiddling with your phone whilst driving?
  17. My Uncle turned 60 and bought a Saab convertible... Just after I turned 28 (about a year after he got the Saab) I bought my Z. He's not too chuffed, especially being as my aunt likes it more. Not sure what it really says about age and Saab and emanating mid-life crises, either way I'm glad I got mine out the way and have my Z now!
  18. The link doesn't work for me. Is this because I've not made enough posts, or has the link dropped because the site has just been updated?
  19. Have just recently bought a 2007 black 313GT myself - it does look good after a proper clean....the pollen and dust soon spoils your view though!
  20. Thanks all. Seats:- (Not my pics but the previous owner's..)
  21. Hello to all of you. I've been a member for quite a while just doing research and finding my way around whilst considering a purchase...and since last month I am now officially a 350Z Owner (and proud of it, of course). I always wanted a later model with GT spec and the 313PS rating on whatever one I found that was in good enough condition to buy. So I'm very happy with the one I've found (yet to name, whether I bother to as well is another discussion..). She has 2 former owners, a noisy release bearing (don't they all..) and lovely light cream leather seats. Didn't want to post until I had a decent pic to show, and here it is:- She's currently keeping me going to work while my french diesel *insert expletive* is being fixed again. Loving driving it, hating having to use it. No plans at current except keep mint and enjoy to the fullest. NB - Based in Leicestershire so looking to maybe getting involved in any midlands social stuff too.
  22. Ah!! Was going to jump all over this! Well done on the sale.
