  1. One of those that's gonna take painstaking lateral thinking in the way you've just described then, best of luck!
  2. No, I don't normally drive mine to work, I've got an old snotter for that. Should be in early Friday as I've got the right bushes now, just got to fit them. I'll park it down where yours was from the OP. It's a 57 plate, black.
  3. Surely there's a page in the technician manual that alludes to the running measurements on the sensors? Voltages, resiistances, etc? It sounds like it's intermittent, so it could well be a contact inside anything that affects the car's base map to allow it to drive - MAF, crank, coolant sensor etc. Is there any way of getting a mate to watch the fault codes on the reader while you drive and see what it picks up when the car does eventually fail?
  4. Oggy that'll be Wiggy, he mentioned you to me on Friday last week when i showed him this post. When I get the bushes fitted tomorrow night I'll be having to drive mine in Fri morning anyway, but it won't be clean...(bloody laguna has died a nasty diesel turbo death)...
  5. I'm sure I've seen it in various colours of wheels or am I fabricating this? We should do an early morning line up next time I bring mine in, I bet there's about 4 of us just in B017...I know of 3 not including myself.
  6. Probably avoiding the "smarter working"...
  7. There is a button like said above, to the right of the steering wheel low down on the dash!! I found it out trynig to turn off the TC hahaha. Anyway my headlamps otherwise wash only the first time you pull the stalk to wash the windscreen when the lights are on...
  8. I was blocked in yesterday at 9am trying to get in, had to abandon my diesel snotter as you couldn't get in or out!! Right where the OP pic was taken. And there was a fester with the rear left 2ft off the ground...
  9. Has it now gone? If not I'll get you a deposit down whenever you want.
  10. Obviously your seized TB will have most to do with your issue, It might be your battery had completely coated the electrodes and wouldn't allow any current to even pass through it also. But for anyone with flat battery issues, I've had it where I left mine for 2 months once - the way I jump start is to earth to an engine lifting eye or somewhere safe you can clamp to the chassis. I use the strut brace actually but find what's comfortable for you. Fires up a dream every time, and it was so flat before that it wouldn't even try to turn.
  11. I'd debate that, if there's none logged or live doesn't mean there's no particular electrical fault. Leaving you with "wait until complete failure" is extremely shoddy service. Smoke from the exhaust might be poor combustion, hard to tell without seeing it. Just as considerations, you can get things checked for operation without replacing:- Cam position sensor(s) Crank sensor Normally a car "can" run without cam position once it's going, but it needs to know where it's starting off from in the 4-stroke cycle hence the cam sensor to give the second input to know when to inject and spark properly. I'd say the cam sensors first thing to check. There should be an inspection sheet or checklist for voltage inputs and outputs on there you can do with a multimeter without even removing them. It could be an intermittent thing, so be sure to do some wiggle and adjustment trials on it as well if you can access them (never needed to on a Z yet). Worth seeing if that'll help without having to go buy stuff willy-nilly anyway.
  12. In case anyone is looking into the service manual, and this hasn't been declared already, "I-spy" a (non-)deliberate mistake in the Service manual diagram on P8 - regarding the compression rod. Before I fess up....a blue peter badge to who works it out right and gets it first!!!
  13. Funnily enough this still isn't all the Zs at whitley, including mine when it does go!! Just remember Pav that gravel car park isn't exactly level. Ceejay, the gabion baskets are retaining earth, right at the top (above the pic) is a tarmac carpark.
  14. He was down this weekend and told me about it.... Oddest of connections, but yes it's me!
  15. Welcome along, glad to see another within the leics-notts-derby triangle...! I'm in the middle of all that!
  16. That was either me, or someone who parks in my works carpark as well seems to have just started recently. I was down at same time but didn't see him there. Was it modded - rear wing/blacked badges etc?
  17. Mine's a black '57 plate, you would have driven past it, but you'd only really see it on the drive if you were heading back the other way just before market street. It's a shame there's not more pub gardens in the town tbh, but looks like there's a wetherspoons coming up next to the big co-op, could always do with another pub
  18. Silver or grey, can't say I'd tell the difference anyway haha. What one have you got? I'll give a wave next time. Might be in my crappy old laguna coming home from work though!
  19. I've seen a burnt orange with exhaust kit, and another immaculate silver Z (both coupes) with a private plate on, but no 06 Zs about. Which way did you go through to get to Tescos? You might have gone past mine.
  20. I sometimes take mine into Loughborough, but I'm in Ashby. '57 plate GT. Have been in once or twice recently around the time of OP, but can't for the life of me be sure if I saw another and waved haha.
  21. I'll be there on Sunday... We nearly were actually, but then we got engaged saturday night so had to go and get a ring....the mrs said that was more important than costco..?
  22. Why is there no card on mine yet flyer my car next time I park up at Thurmaston Costco! Not that it's of any use now...but I'm feeling somewhat left out...
