  1. I have long been fascinated by the technology no matter how floored the environmental ethics are. This does look pretty good though http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/alternative/1208_2012_tesla_model_s_test_and_range_verification/
  2. Good idea to restore some of the glamour to cruising I guess I would love to see the business model on it though
  3. Yes it looks like a Visia model, like the mods to the wheels and roof though
  4. Again from TG magazine, some truly gorgeous metal http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/rm-monterey-auction-2012-08-17?imageNo=0
  5. Oooh, something for the weekend, sir? Joking aside, genuinely devastated this has to go, but that's the price you pay for abandoning the country! This is my Triumph Speed Triple 06/06 just over 16k now with full history tax and test. Also both keys all the books etc too. The previous owner was the first owner and only covered 10500 miles on it before I bought it last April. It's in really good condition and has only covered light work. I think the furthest I have been on it in one go is to the lakes and back! The full ad is on Autotrader. http://autotrader.mobi/used-bikes/advert/201231480318183/viewing-2/0?PHPSESSID=3uee3hlofpet69jomeom91c470 Cheers T
  6. From TG magazine Interesting design, not my thing though. But I suppose that's why it's a one off http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/mclaren-x-1-special-operations-concept-car-2012-08-17
  7. Unfortunatly yes. My application has been delayed again, by poor Managment and understaffing in the provincial government. Been sat at home for months now waiting for my matching orders which sounds great but I'm climbing the f£@king walls to be honest You alright Stew? How's the super mod scooter scene??
  8. Reported by the daily mail on behalf of Which? A surprising result..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2186421/Which-Car-Survey-Most-unreliable-car-named-BMW-3-series-convertible-spending-average-3-5-days-year-garage-repairs.html
  9. Make sure you top on wine before you move Toby Its VERY expensive here As an example a Bottle of Oyster Bay is about 8 pounds in Tesco...... its $22CAD here (Thats 14 quid) I know, I had to buy a few bottles for kindnesses whilst there. Ironically they have a very nice little wine industry in Canada especially around the Niagara area. I will have to start on my own Moonshine still Anyway your alright, your only a hop and a skip from the boarder and Seattle (cool city BTW!) cheap booze run!!
  10. Depends on my mood Larger - San Miguel, Peroni Beers - All sorts of stuff like Hob Goblin, Witchcraft, Abbots etc Wines - Depends on the occasion, but reds something quite robust white, refreshing but not too tart Vodka - Grey Goose, Russian Standard Gin - Plymouth all the way Brandy - Something nice from a Champaign grape. Whiskey - Tomatin Rum - Depends on what you do with it a Bacardi for mixing and something from the Dominican Rep for neat. I also like a decently expensive Port & Sherry every now and then. like wise good cocktails too numerous to get into!! But most importantly, all must be enjoyed with good company
  11. Breath taking photography And weirdly, I used to have a Dunlop tennis racket just like that.
  12. Ricey I haven't driven the tdi TT but at the risk of my posts sounding like extracts from my CV I managed a local Audi dealership for 18 months so if there is anything specifically I can help with let me know T

    Alfa Brera

Ricey Just got back from talking to Rob at Alexanders Alfa, hes a top bloke and sold me the wife's Mito three years ago, TBH it also gave me an excuse to put the bit on him to come over to Canada! Anyway he says the engines a very solid and run on chains so no worries there. He said to check the brakes as they are expensive to replace callipers etc, also play in the seats at the front oddly enough, the mechanics of the mechanisms can wear out and prove to be expensive but very fixable. Check the tyres too, espeially the inside edges. There are also some MUST haves on the car too: 1/ 18" alloys 2/ the Blue Me system 3/ Service history He reckoned they were very important to have on the car and in goo working order. Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else T

  21. Hello everyone! Don't know where to start on this all of the issues and opinions have merit. Yes I think the OP was a little naive to think that he would get full attention by stating the car he was after was not the car he wanted to drive but again the other car was was owned by the group! This can occur as although the group may own the car the individual site will still have to buy it in from the other site. Now if that car has had a lot of money spent on it or the inter company transfer bill is too high to make a viable sale by the other dealership that remains to be seen but certainly not uncommon! This is a poor precise set up by dealer groups to protect decent stock for individual sites but as in this case (possibly) only results in a poor customer experience. Secondly; the point about the cars selling them selves and the relaxed sales people, nothing wrong with that, if as I can imagine, the buyer knows more about the car than the seller!! As a former manager I would be appalled at the lack of thought and service not only to the customer but to the business. Without taking steps to qualify the customer and checking a drivers licence, is tantermount to gross negligence! The insurance of the car would be subject to indorsments etc!! Finally, the most tragic part of all issues people have with sales people, dealerships & groups is that the motor industry has been in a resession since 2008, it is now competing nationally on price more often than not and in alot of cases the business acumen of the larger groups is dictated by a city analsyst who's first responsibility is to is share holders. The first things out of the window is training and good recruitment decissions. As such in the last four years wages have been cut significantly, and using the old analogy you pay peanuts you get monkeys. This is not true if all places, but I can say that the good ones will be working twice as hard to maintain a position and very few are moving forward in these difficult times. Not an excuse, just a bit of reality. Very sorry for the OPs experience but it should not put him off other dealers or more importantly buying 370 which is a great car, and what's more you get the great support of a forum like this
