  1. Oh No! We're all gonna die. click.
  2. Just had my 30k miles, MY06 2007 GT back from P3 (equivalent) service. Report says: O/S/F tie bar rear bush deteriorated. I was told this is common and the OEM bushes are best replaced with poly bushes, IME this is generally a good idea but would value your opinions. Also advised pads are low all round - no tracking, occasional fast road, usually 10 mile each way commute on B roads. Which pads would you suggest? [Hate cleaning wheels] ------------------------ I was quoted c. £132 +VAT + 3 hours labour for bushes.
  3. I gather the 'Merkans have a remote boot release, on a separate button on the bipper. Is this something we can have?
  4. As a kid in the sixties and seventies, living in the flightpath of Rolls Royce Patchway, Bristol, we became 'familiar' with the Vulcan's undercarriage and thunderous nlose at close quarters. Feck me was it loud. It used to have other engines strapped to it for testing. RB1-11s and the like.
  5. Not too sure about the factory spec OEM clutch and flywheel as mine were shagged when I bought it, but the 'lightened', single mass flywheel is a delight.
  6. I dunno... four hours labour at c. £40/hour is worth saving to me.
  7. I've ordered a set of dials. I can barely be trusted with a plastic spork unsupervised. Any idea who I should get to fit them? They'll take a few weeks to come over from US.
  8. In those conditions, after a long dry spell, any tyre will struggle. If they're the same after a few days of wet conditions then maybe there's something amiss.
  9. Another: No idea whether they're any good, and they look expensive to me, but I quite like the look of these rear lights... Click
  10. Especially as typically you get the best line-of-sight by being as far to the left as possible.
  11. Similarly, I may have to bail out too. Not quite Tunisia, but sea fishing with my brother down Devon. Hopefully know one way or t'other later today.
  12. Before travelling, I'd get the vendor to confirm it's not a cat D or anything. He doesn't have to volunteer the info but must not hide it. ETA Also, it's a ginger with ginger internals - not everyone's first choice.
  13. I've just popped on a pair of Bridgestone RE050A DZ on the rear, replacing cheapo no-name worn out shag-nasties. Night and day! It's so much more planted and the grip is phenomenal. As they were fresh out of the moulds I thought I'd spin them up once or twice to get some heat in and wear off the lubricant. The feckers just gripped and I took off like a rocket. I had to find a damp patch and get some lock on to break traction. Very impressed so far. FTR I paid £380 inc fitting, balancing, etc.

    Boot lid

So... I'm not keen on the standard boot lid 'lip spoiler' so considering getting it removed. I've noticed several around without it so it's clearly feasible. Is it purely cosmetic or is it functional like the original Audi TT's? I don't want to go whanging off at Quarry Corner because the rear's suddenly gone too light. I then got to thinking about replacing the whole shebang with a somewhat lighter affair, like this CF boot lid: click. Probably a fair amount of work involved with that though, swapping over all the bits, getting it fitted, painted, etc. Does anyone know how much the stock boot lid weighs and how much weight may be saved? Should I just lose the spoiler or replace the whole thing?
  15. Thanks for help chaps. Decided on the Bridgestones in the end. I can't believe how much better it is. Not a bad price either; £390 for the pair fitted and balanced. Very happy.
  16. Hmmm. Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed the film, but don't expect to learn anything. It's pure entertainment, not the documentary some would have us believe. Very biased and sensationalist IMO. Definitely worth watching though.
  17. Not people. It's only me. I'm only doing it so if it's wrong I don't get the blame. Double-
  18. I've had an FTO too - very different. Good luck with your search.
  19. I've been on the applause list for a while but never a sniff of TG. Went to a recording of Never Mind the Buzzcocks years ago, back when Mark Lamarr was doing it - that was great fun.
