  1. you'll be impressed with the ReVup gains, but my lump only gave 267bhp at the flywheel with all that.......!
  2. flattered you're all so concerned
  3. oh, what are the compression figures i should be looking for when i get it into the garage?
  4. yeah thats a plan one thing i do notice and im sure Jez noticed, was a weird burning smell under heavy acceleration, ive noticed it before, some think its the hot headers, as no one can find anything else, its kind of like burning paper....not an unpleasant smell or alarming, just weird!
  5. at the time it had a mix of 99 and 97, there arent that many garages in Norfolk that have 99, so i only go 97 if i cant get to a 99 and, 95 (yuck) if its an emergency!
  6. ok i'll ask my garage, they are Ferarri servicers, so they should have one!
  7. how does one chap perform such compression check? what are the components involved?
  8. yeah, seems im just unlucky, curious as to what components degrade to give such a power output, are they either substandard or just worn? if so can they be replaced?
  9. i can understand that, but with all the exhaust components, still seems a rather hefty loss for a 47k mileage car. So exploring more options as we speak! my local garage who has done a lot of my work also polishes and ports cylinder heads, along with some fast road cams and good headers, may claim back some of those lost ponies
  10. Well, good news and bad news with the UpRev Firstly thanks to Jez at Horsham Secondly, the UpRev went smoothly, gained 11Bhp, more tourque ( forgot the amount ) with a smoother profile, and a horridly jagged fuelling profile was drastically smoothed. The fuel economy was the first thing i noticed improved, with 40mpg at about 75mph, plus smoother power delivery and more urge at cruising speeds. BAD side, i found out my car at the baseline dyno test was only 255Bhp at the hub, which for my 2004 model should be 276bhp ish. After uprev i got 267bhp, so disspointed with overall output. Bearing in mind before UpRev i had Berk cats, Stillen Y pipe and K2 japspeed middle and rear. So as you can see the power output is puzzling.
  11. thanks chaps, ill do my best to enjoy the ride, more so on the way back
  12. whats the throttle response like? post mapping i mean
  13. late morning, im near Kings Lynn, 3 hours travelling according to sat nav, but giving it some leeway just in case the M25 decides to spill jam over the place again!
  14. no! i want my UpRev!!
  15. ive only lived in wales, scotland, north yorkshire and now norfolk...m25 is a beast to us country bumpkins!
  16. have you had the mod?
  17. finally got around to getting the UpRev mod tomorrow with Horsham, quite excited...but not excited at the 3 hour drive there! the M25 is terrifying!
  18. it was the bearing...doh! the muppets at the last garage need a stern glaring at...diff indeed! but i have a spare diff for sale!
  19. yes thats it, sucking sound! not a bad thing i just was worried id had a crack or something!
  20. ok i now have all the bits, my one last question, which will no wonder make me look an arse, which wire did you splice the amp-on onto? any wire carrying a +5v signal?
  21. well its not the rasp , i get that at high revs, this 'whoosh' can happen at any any part of the rev range, soon as you take the foot off the gas...is this the thing you're on about? i dont think its a bad sound, just worried there was gas escaping! cheers
  22. Just had these two fitted, sounds great as ive said before, but ive noticed when you come off the throttle there is a kind of 'whooshing' noise from the underside, its best described as sounding like a small dump valve.. IS this a feature of these new parts?
  23. let me know how that goes, as im trying to get an RS tune too, i just had stillen Y-pipe and Berk HFC's fitted, do you think its wise to get an air filter fitted before the UpRev?
  24. im happy to pay a deposit if they can be flexible with dates
