  1. Shiny new bits Berk HFC's and Stillen Y-Pipe courtesy of Tarmac Sportz,
  2. Just don't be tempted to use Green Flag, they offer great rates first year, then second year, when you've clearly forgot to check renewal date, goes from £650-1250 ! but then you go to cancel as you've clearly found somewhere cheaper and they land you with a £450 cancellation fee but after complaining to trading standards they dropped that fee down to £45...the correct and reasonable admin costs...so 450 to 45...maybe they just got the decimal place wrong?
  3. mine didnt come with brackets, i can only assume they sent the wrong ones, wish they'd answer e-mails!
  4. i just changed my clutch and slave cylinder, the biting point is about a foot closer to the bulkhead than it was before! much lighter too now, but unfortunately gear change hasnt improved, so going for proper oil and friction reducing additive next
  5. i had a motorsport engineer at Donnington drive it, the droning at the centre rear starts at 40mph and progressively gets worse, when iu change direction, in one turn it gets quieter, the other, gets louder, under decelleration under no power, gets louder...he is convinced it is the LSD we checked the bearings before, so other than that, what's left?
  6. yeah i tried that, i used to go into central before going into 2nd, but since i put some god awful Halfrauds oil in the gearbox, the thing is a total pig in the cold...lesson learned, no @*!# oil in future!!
  7. in the cold i cant even engage 2nd gear, i just go straight to 3rd gear, just as well as there's plenty of torque!
  8. i was hoping someone had made an aftermarket box! , ive done plenty of driving days at places like silverstone ... and my fave gearchange thus far was a 911 GT3, much better than the ferrari F360 i drove afterwards...but the Ferrari did make my pants tingle!
  9. curious as to what conclusion you come to, i would like a slicker gearbox too, im told the gearbox in the early Zed is the Nissan Navara gearbox, hence its rather clunky nature, i was wondering if a rebuild would help something that is an inherent design fault! keeping my ear peeled on this one!
  10. well im just weighing up my options at the moment, shall i upgrade to something tougher for future mild track use ( as i want to still have it day to day use ), i will be doing some mild engine upgrades, so already upped my clutch, how much can a standard LSD handle? Is your OEM LSD low mileage?
  11. My diff is apparently on the way out, or at least needs rebuilding, my options so far are: 1/ find someone who can rebuild it, which so far has drawn a blank 2/ Fit a Quaif LSD, which after talking to them will fix and improve the unit, costing £600 (approx) 3/ Or after searching the breakers, there's a low milage 2006 model with its LSD on offer, £300 delivered, obviously hours fitting and removing my old one. Any ideas fellow Zedders?
  12. Sorry i didnt completely answer you, you'd best look up the head unit on the internet for full spec as im still pretty new to it myself, there's loads of reviews and specification links out there, As for the Fascia, unless you use it, it leaves a gap in the centre console, it's just to make sure it all looks good
  13. well so far im still waiting for mine to be attached, but i believe you need the loom adaptor for the JVC to car , there is also a steering wheel adaptor which i have bought, plus the fascia which is an all style kit, includes single DIN, double DIN i got my bits from Car Audo Direct, i somehow managed to order two lots of fascia and head units, but as i was away due to work commitments, i exceeded the 7 day return policy, so i think i fairly priced the items brand new, check their website So in summary you need : JVC head unit Fascia Stalk Interface Loom adaptor
  14. looks a bit drastic to fit something that should be OEM replacement! but the item you have in the pic is different from mine, there's a screwthread bolt in place of that ball joint on mine!
  15. yup, thats it, both brackets wrong way around ....doh ! brilliant for the link and advice
  16. crikey, is that that simple? thanks for the thread, i'll have a closer look in the morning, cheers
  17. JVC KW-AVX640 + fascia kit, unused, new from manufacturer, £165 ONO Cheers
  18. The link you sent show's the right strut, but as i mentioned, the one i got was different, hope it was just a mistake in packing.
  19. Those are the guys i got my aftermarket struts from, the fittings are different from OEM so couldnt attach them. I emailed them in case the later 350z had different fittings. The one they sent me had a bolt-to-bodywork fitting, whereas the OEM has a bracket which two bolts attach to the bodywork. There was noway to modify the aftermarket strut without cutting up, fabricating etc
  20. well me and the local garage worked on the struts, they seem to have been refitted to original position, as there's the fixed bolts and pintle on the boot lid, now i can't see why something is forcing the front edge up, guess i'll have to take them off again and see if it bulges up without the struts...! costing me a fortune this month, new clutch, road tax, new head unit ( my fault ) amd just found the fuel neck pipe is bent, which explains the cut off nuisance at the fuel pump! sheesh
  21. This winter found my boot lid won't stay open, but when its warm the struts are able to support it. I tried aftermarket struts apparently for my model, but they had different fittings. Refitted my original struts and now the boot wont shut properly, the leading edge (with the roof) sits slightly proud and the boots 'pops' open when released, as if its under force when shut. Buggered struts does anyone think? and any ideas on costings for new OEM or aftermarket struts? Cheers all
  22. i cant find a link, but this head unit is going pretty cheap at the moment, im so tired of the skipping OE head unit, driving me nuts
  23. well they have good customer service,
  24. well the japspeed k2 back end fitted ok, sounds nice
