    I think id probably prefer the Buddy Club for the bit extra in all honesty as its a proper Jap system. Im still looking with the intention of buying in the new year. And loud you say... (may have been my intention all along ) Cheers guys

    Following my single exit zorst thread the other day (and availability of stuff) I am thinking if I can find one for a decent price I am hugely tempted by the buddy club (i know its not a TD) but it looks and think it sounds awesome. Is £700 a good price for that system? It is Y back as far as i can tell (ebay seller) - Anyone on here source one cheaper? I had thought about a Scorpion system but i would require a new Y pipe too which would come to about £625 in total, and am i right in thinking that the BC one is better (being JDM and all that) EDIT: I also read that the scorpion isnt suitable for an import, how true is that? lol I think at some point I would also be interested at getting some decats but that can always come later. Another thought was to buy decats and a new Y pipe and leave the standard zorst for a while, no idea how that sounds though or if its worth it. (Looks like a fairly new OE back box)
  4. Sorry it took me ages to reply in here Good shout on the front proxies. Also i went for the silver one Did a gearbox oil change today with added molyslip too feels much nicer now and had a good look underneath. Might take some bits off bead blast them and powder coat them if i find the time.

  9. haha ok then if someone can tell me how much a buddy club is gonna cost me id be more than happy with that but im still a fan of single exits and a bumper tuck. I would NEVER do some of the horrific @*!# i have seen done to a lot of zeds *cringe* First stops a zorst, then comes some other bits (no chavvy / fast and furious looking turd though) Hate me if you will but i would like my zed to end up something similar to this:
  10. I think a single exit with a bumper tuck (hiding the fact there is two recesses for another pipe) looks JDM as **** if im honest, each to their own though. I do still have a lot of thinking to do anyway
  11. Hmm with this all in mind, i would have been hugely tempted to make something up if i still worked where i used to. We had a couple of HKS titanium back boxes that would have mated up nicely to a straight catback system lol. I still might even look in to making one or getting one made if its going to cost the earth for a proper JDM system.
  12. Well after seeing Ian's car i did like the look and sound of the GReddy Ti-C single exit, but wondered how much that would set me back. I think he said somewhere that he managed to source it for about 350. For dual exit i was looking at the buddyclub exhaust which i think comes with a Y section also. At the moment im purely looking for prices as a zaust is something i will do when the weather improves as i dont want to fit a shiney new bit of kit and let it get instantly covered in salt and the like.   15. Hi guys, After some research i think i would like to get a single exit for my zed, however there doesnt seem to be a huge selection available or easily obtainable. I saw a GReddy Ti-C single exit on someone elses car on here and i think that with a bumper tuck looks along in the same thread i saw something about a Tomei single exit but havnt actually managed to find a lot out about it. I can understand that a single exit is not to everyones taste but imo its a lot lighter than a true dual. I also imagine that its a lot cheaper haha. However my reasoning does connect with price to an extent and i think that a single exit exhaust is better than having a dual exit (not true dual system) from a y pipe as the flow wont be interrupted as much. It seems that the only readily available systems for our cars are japspeed stuff, scorpion and milltek? But i could be wrong, does most of the other stuff have to be imported? Anyway some thoughts and opinons from those of you more knowledgeable than myself would be appreciated. My car as far as i know is totally standard with an AEM cold feed induction kit (if that makes much difference) and although it sounds awesome in the cabin, i want some exhaust note. Also to note im not shy when it comes to having a LOUD car haha. Cheers guys
  16. I did wonder if it was going to be a case of that Well i will shoot him a pm then and hopefully he can supply me with the oil i need along with some crush washers for the plugs. I did find this thread: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2973 Which contains details from opie oils, and says that a good choice would be Motul Gear 300 75W-90. But i think you cant really get much better than Oe Nissan stuff for a standard car?
  17. Cheers have had a brief look but wanted to know if there was anything specific that people on here use. If an oil change doesnt fully rectify the issue i might try to stick some Molyslip additive in it too. A mate with an S2k said to maybe try that.
  18. Hi guys sorry to be a pain, i have tried doing a search but i fear im useless at getting a definitive answer. I have just got my zed and want to make sure that the garage i bought it from has not put API 5 in the gearbox so was going to do a change of that and check the engine oil and most likely change that along with a filter. The gear box crunches slightly changing up into 3rd and 6th and has only stated to do this today which is why i want to change the oil asap incase it has API 5 as that will kill the syncros. However my question is what gearbox oil should i go for? Would it be an issue if i got 75w-90w? or does it have to be 75w-85w? Also fully synthetic or semi synthetic and perhaps some brand suggestions. I currently 2 litres of Castrol smx-s fully synthetic 75w-90w which i was going to use in my VX220 before i sold it. Its API is 3 / 4 would that be suitable? If so i could just go to halfrauds and grab another litre to do the zed tomorrow. Thanks in advance guys, looks like tomorrows list is getting longer haha
  19. Suppose i had best update this I have been busy since picking her up, but my god am i happy! The car is so drivable its ridiculous buckets of torque. Also actually having an interior is awesome along with cup holders and places to put things. After 4 years with a VX220 i really do appreciate these little things haha. Just got to work up the courage to finally flick the TC off I am also impressed with the 29 average mpg i have been getting as i havnt exactly been hanging around lol. However there are always going to be those few niggles... I have the well documented Bose skip along with the left front speaker cutting in and out, it becoming tedious already haha. I will be taking it all apart on Friday when i have time to sort all of this out and i will stick in an audio lead for an ipod too while i have it all apart. Need a new ariel as the standard one look **** and isnt in the greatest of condition. New number plates as the rear has some horrid "carbon fibre" look lettering on it, and the front id like to change to a square jdm style one to match the rear. My diped beam bulbs are different colours so looks a bit shite when they are on, so need to change them for the same colour. Out of interest are the OE HID bulbs more blue or yellow in colour? as i have one of each of those colours. I had 6000k HID's on my VX and that looked pretty good so could always just get a couple of cheaper HID bulbs of that colour range from ebay. What are your guys thoughts? The AEM induction kit sounds awesome and also looks pretty but i feel eventually i will do some more work under the engine bay. Such as plenum spacer, some carbon fibre and a polish here and there. Also high on the list is a new zaust that makes some noise, at the moment the in cabin noise is very pleasing but it has a near enough silent exhaust note, so would love to sort that out. Most people seem to be fairly happy with the Japspeed stuff is this the case? And is it worth the money i know it is cheap. From when i was looking before i think i liked the idea of the buddyclub system. I need to browse this forum some more and go have a listen at youtube for vids, but does anyone have any experience or thoughts on that particular system? Found a seller on ebay that does it for £699 and im pretty sure that system comes with a y pipe. I have managed to lose track of where i was going with this haha, so i shall leave it there. I think i might do a project thread and update as and when. Even just for my reference. Pictures soon after yet another clean
  20. oh for sure he is already considerably larger than when that last pic was taken. He also has is wolf teeth now, not so fun as he likes using his mouth for playing haha. If i get a chance i will add a more recent pic. I will go find that thread now...
  21. Im sort of newish but here is the latest addition to the family. A malamute called...wolfy (not my choice of name and i did fight it lol) This was taken when he first arrived, i was still out of the country at the time This one was taken 2 months ago I will get a newer up to date picture as he is a fair size bigger these days. Still just a puppy though!

I made a thread a few days ago about going to view an import at a dealership today, well i went and was very impressed by the condition of the car so stuck down a deposit and go to pick her up on Tuesday morning Here is a pic from the add In the Japanese documentation i noticed some kind of Nismo certificate looking type piece of paper obviously im not up to scratch on my Japanese but i assume it could be for the front bumper and rear spoiler. Under the bonnet to my surprise was an AEM cold feed induction kit on it which under load sounds awesome. It looks to have also had a very recently new OE exhaust put on possibly along with new Cats (had that fresh cat smell after a slightly spirited test drive). Car pulled well in all gears no odd noises from anywhere apart from sounds like stones in an under tray at the rear when quickly changing direction, did the forward and reverse check for the "clicky axel" and no noises there either. Interior is very clean and good condition, has the bose upgrade along with a mini disk changer behind the passenger seat oh and folding mirrors . The car has full main dealer service history along with the japanese log book prior to its arrival in this country. The previous owner was a paramedic (i think from memory) but yeah im very excited about going to get her on Tuesday Hopefully get my ass along to some meets and the like asap, i used to be heavily involved in the VX220 owners club and hope to have the same kind of interest with you lot.
