  1. What about the LS 400's 4.0 liter 1UZ-FE? Such a strong engine, very light and high tunable with very strong internals, good for 450hp+, plus £500 will get you the engine easily and there are plenty of mods out there for it. I'm planning on putting one in a Toyota supra, took the beast out last weekend
  2. Well a CAT C is far worse than a CAT D hence the lower resale value. Also depends on the quality of the repair ect And this is not just a usual 350z, but the GT4 model. I believe at this price it's a very good deal
  3. I will get the wheels fitted when the weather gets better. As said I am in no real rush to sell her anyway. With spring/summer approaching it's tempting to insure her and use her. And In my opinion, I think the damage looked far worse in the photos than it actually was. To add on to this, the car is not officially registered as a CAT D on the V5 form, I'm not sure if it's meant to be or not?
  4. Update! Managed to source another GT4 wheels so I know have a complete set of GT4 anniversary Wheels, no curbing, not a mark on the wheels, wrapped in Brand new rubber! That makes 3 different sets of wheels which can be purchased on the car.

    Cat C & D's

The cost for parts for these 350z are VERY expensive, especially the headlights. This means that with a slight collision the repair bill can easily rack up to a lot and write the car off. I think it works on a percentage bases of the cars value. eg if it cost 75% of the cars value then it's pointless repairing it (from the Insurers point of view)
  6. Unless you're doing heavy miles, is it really necessary to be washing your car twice a week...secondly is it good for the pain work? Before winter came I give all my cars a nice wax to protect it from the salt and rubbish on the roads, and try to wash them at least once every 6 weeks or so. Once the weather dries up I'll then give her another proper wash and wax leading up to summer. It's nice seeing them shiny, but couple miles later she looks dirty again
  7. People seem a bit confused... I have owned the car for 2 years nearly. After I fully restored it, it passed the MOT first time with only one advisory (airbag light needed resetting which is now done) I will make sure it has a MOT before selling it on if anyone is worried about that. I have driven the car for a good year, and it drives perfect. It's had new Banana arms, hubs and various arms. My thread says it all. The reason for sale is I don't have the time to drive it. Last year I only clocked 3,000 miles... Personally I think the price is very good for a GT4 model, all you need is another GT4 wheel to put it back standard! Very low miles as well.
  8. [/quote I meant the drivers headlight washer. No M.O.T and bits like this to me smack of lost interest, and or ran out money, "unfinished project for sale" Not for one minute saying this is the case but others might think that? Headlight washer cover is on, I just needed to get the correct one and respray it for the Bumper. It is definitely not a unfinished project for sale. The car is dead original other than the GT4 wheels. These will go along with the car. The reason why I didn't MOT it is because it is sorn and in my garage. If MOT is a issue with anyone, I will put it through one before handing over the keys.
  9. Thanks for the feedback guys! I have linked my previous rebuild thread only to show everyone how I have done a thorough job on the car, and repairing it. I'm not trying to cover anything up. I realise that in that picture the drivers side bumper washer jet cover is missing, it's on now (I had to respray it) Regarding the wheels, the reason I didn't revert back was because at the time I couldn't find a GT4 wheel, and I also preferred the look of these. I still have the 3 GT4 Wheels which I plan on throwing in. PRICE NOW REDUCED TO £7500
  10. What do people think about the pricing? I realise the whole "CAT D" puts people off
  11. Hi everyone, It's been a while since I've been on this forum. I've been busy with my recent Supra Project. (V8 in a mk4 supra) Anyway, I listed my 350z for sale last summer but had little interest, so she just sat in the garage for the past half year instead. I find myself using her very rarely which is a shame so I thought it's best to pass her on to someone that will appreciate her more. She is a 2005 Nissan 350z GT4 model. This is the limited edition model where I believe only 172 were made, only 72 of these being yellow. I am not sure but I believe the number on mine is either 47 or 49. I can double check. This means you get all the extras, Brembo's, cruise, heated leather seats, rear boot covers ect. She has no tax, and the MOT has just run out, although I am sure she will pass considering I have only done couple thousand miles since last year. About her. 33,000 miles, very low. Paint work is Immaculate condition Interior still smells and looks brand new sits on 19" team dynamics wheels wrapped in Pirreli (tyres all still legal although fronts will need changing soon) 25mm spacers all round Front Black side reflectors Tinted windows Registered as CAT D - I did the repair job myself, to a high standard. Thread can be found here http://www.350z-uk.c...-loads-of-pics/ She is fairly standard. I have got the GT4 wheels which I can throw in, 3 of them are good, so only one needed to make the set. I also have a set of vertini wheels 8.5j/10j which I was planning on fitting on them, so gives the buyer a wide choice of wheels. Here are some pics I recently took, more pictures (last summer) can be found on my other thread. More pictures available on request. It will really be a shame to see her go. Especially with all my hard work I put into her, but in the past nearly 2 years of owning her I have only clocked 4/5000 miles on her so she's not being used a lot. The only bad bit I can remember is she has that "clicky rear axle" problem which I was meant to sort out last summer. Apparently a easy fix. Also falls pre 2006 so lower tax bracket! I also just bought the bluetooth unit that will go with the car as well. At the moment she in that exact spot on our driveway but under a car cover to protect her. She was in the garage at one point as well. Anyone interested is welcome to come check her out. All this car for £7500 If anyone is interested PM me! Thanks - Located in Milton Keynes (50 miles north of london) Just to add, I am in no rush to sell and am looking forward to using her this summer
  12. I don't think you have any fuel sensor issue. On most cars they have a massive reserve, probably for good reasons. I always seem to fill up around 60 litres max from when the reserve light was on, Which leaves the reserve tank to be a good 20 litres.... My Landcruiser has a 25 litre reserve as well so it's not abnormal. You could most likely even push through into the reserve and get a solid 500 miles!
  13. Same here, One of my threads have gone and when I click on its previous link it "cannot be found" Can this be fixed or have I lost the thread? It was my 350z Build so was quite a good one that I would have liked to keep.
  14. Looks very nice, good job Personally, I wouldn't have bothered with the washer jets, so that I could get that smooth look, plus I dont remember the last time I've ever used those jets...

    Commuter car

Anything with the VAG 1.9 TDI or the later 2.0 tdi engines are great for fuel economy and surprisingly quick My 1.9tdi golf gets hammered everyday back and forth to work (110 mile round trip) and averages at around 45-50 mpg. I have been able to achieve 55 mpg before. The newer golfs, bluemotion get over 60 mpg easily.
  16. Dont think anyone in Scotland actually offers this service but also think they stick out past the arches so it wouldnt make a big difference either I may just need to roll with some breeze blocks in my boot I'm sure someone on here had the service to rent it off them...borrow Stretched Tyres + Rolled Arch , will it work then? Probably your best/cheapest option. What are the tyre size on it at the moment? Plus I've noticed that under compression the wheels tend to tuck more into the arches (camber in)
  17. What if you roll the arches? Will you be able to drop it then?
  18. There really isn't much wrong with CAD D cars. CAD D is the lowest accident bracket and these 350z's fall so easily in this bracket due to the price of parts. Headlights for example. Also CAD D means NO structural damage, for example no chassis damage. Majority of times it will be panels, suspension and bumpers ect. However the main reason people avoid them is because of the repair job. Some people do a botch up job. If you buy one make sure you see pictures of the damage and then inspect the vehicle. Were air-bags deployed? This will give you a real feel for how bad the crash and impact was, even though the air bags can deploy very easily as well. If the repair was professionally then there is no real reason for why the price should really be any lower than a normal car. It does not affect your insurance or anything. People are just scared and therefore avoid them. If the repair job was good, and the evidence is there, go for it!
  19. If I have more interest for more, I can order more. But I would be looking atleast 5 people and the price would be about £45, less if we get more people.
  20. sorry, all sold out! Can mods lock the thread please.
  21. Once the air temperature is above 25 degrees, you have a very clean environment, adequate compressor (you want a compressor that can maintain its pressure whilst spraying). You would also want a water filter on your compressor, and a half decent spray gun. Also, extraction and ventilation is a key if you're doing a lot of spraying. Then it's just down to technique of applying the paint and lacquer on. There are some good guides for beginners on you tube.

  23. A decent corner and there will be tyre damage, I'll put my money on it. I am a bit confused to how you think going around a corner will lead to tyre damage there wouldn't well lets compress the suspension and see what the tyre hits ...... The car looks as though its still on stock suspension which is soft. The body roll will be awful. I can guarantee that those will rub The front don't rub at all, the rear rubs slightly over humps but nothing too dangerous. I'm planning on getting the arch's rolled and that will solve the problem.
