  1. should have sprayed it blue (the fastest colour)
  2. well its not going to go down so if its going to change it will only go up. i decide if to buy 6 or 12 months based on when my MOT / service / insurance is due.. try and stagger the dates as much as possible so as to lessen the blow. MOT / service / insurance and road tax all out of the same paycheck with def ruin your day
  3. thanks for that... they look nice! just fitted a carbon cover for the centre piece of mine (07) and am now thinking a full lip would look even better! interesting that the 06 - 08 lip doesnt seem to have the lower piece (dip) in the centre that the OE bumper has....
  4. nice front lip.... just had a look on the evo-r website.. they do some great gear on there! couldnt see the lip above on their website though??????
  5. im with Mark here... i cant see how its the garages responsibility to replace parts that were supplied by you if its the parts that are faulty. i would either have my motor professionally rebuilt or find a mate who knows what hes doing and for the price of a good night out have him help you rebuild it yourself. nothing like the sense of satisfaction of fixing it all yourself plus you KNOW how its been put together hope it all works out for you but i wouldnt buy a second hand engine i couldnt hear running... what your saying about the current block is that even if it doesnt work it will cost you £250... i could go into business selling broken engines that i will get given back to me an still earn £250 each time... i dont think i could sleep at night but i would be making money!

    350z Spoiler

does look a bit old school but i like it
  7. Naaaa national speed limit. 40 past the camera and for the first and the last third... Middle third can be quicker to average out :-)
  8. drove through the northbound tunnel yesterday afternoon on my way back from the coast average speed cameras in operation... so... SLOW in FAST through and SLOW out got a thumbs up from a guy in a car in the next lane
  9. yep... imported the spoiler from the states and had it sprayed and fitted. i think i suits the car and they should have come with them as standard see spoilerdepot.com for details
  10. 05 plate sunset/burnt orange coupe at the top of the M23 just as it turns to the A23 at Hooley (gave you a thumbs up as i passd on the bike GM coupe at the lights by the firestation in Purley (couldnt see what year as you were in nose to tail traffic)
  11. doesnt damage the paint and isnt that hard to get off but if you can stop it getting on there in the first place all the better not tried doing it while the paintwork is wet
  12. went over the car with Meguiars detailing clay then a good hand wax with Meguiars Mirror Glaze Professional Paste Wax first time i have ever clayed a car... was suprised how little rubbish came off some panels and how much did come off others!!! its smooth as a babys bum now
  13. nope no playing about... elbow grease and a clay bar and some wax
  14. in complete contrast to kelvos post about someone shouting 'its only a 350z' i got home from work tonight and decided it was perfect weather for washing, clay baring, and then waxing and while doing so got nothing but positive comments from all who passed by the end of my drive i think i need to get a stubby aerial though Mmmmmmm Shiny
  15. get a few sheets handy.... start the car and part open the roof so that the front and back are away from the car then tuck the sheets under and put the roof back down into place (front first obviously due to the way the back lifts) cover all the paintwork and windows. the rear window will obviously not be able to be covered but getting all the treatment stuff off the back window only isnt a deal breaker scrub the first part of the treatment on then remove the sheets and wash the roof down... wait for it to dry and then redo the sheets. really do them well so as to cover the car paint and windows. difference is amazing
  16. i used and use AUTOGLYM SOFT TOP CAR HOOD/ROOF CLEANER PROTECTOR KIT and it made a huge difference to the hood. looks much better / cleaner and the water just beads off it now. word of warning... make sure you have plenty of dust sheets or covers to protect the paintwork while applying this stuff. take your time and the results are really good
  17. look at the thread at the top of the main detailing page viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2878 will help a bit
  18. 2 buckets - 1 bucket with water and detergent of your choice and 1 bucket of clean water. dip wool mit in warm soapy water, apply to car, dip in clean water to rinse and repeat.
  19. well for us the Z was an extravagant toy to buy and we tend to use it as such. i go fishing for the weekend a lot of times and therefore take a car out of the equasion. some of the tracks i go down to get to the lakes are a bit rough and ready hence the 10 / 11 year old car that i dont really worry about. the wife goes rock climbing with friends hence the need for a decent sized hatchback as she needs to take a fair amount of gear when she goes and we tend to both go and do our thing on the same weekends so we cant share a car. if i get the train to work it takes me nearly an hour where on the bike it takes me 25 mins... in the car the same trip would take nearly an hour and a half!
  20. Yep i use my bike (ZX12r) to run back and forth to work and keep the Roadster for sunny evenings and weekends. i have a 2001 SAAB aero 5 door that i use to lug stuff to the dump or go fishing in and we have a SEAT Leon TDI 150 for my wife to use as a daily driver to her work and back (about 50 mile a day commute) Use Admiral Multi car for the 3 cars and i have my own bike policy. all 4 vehicles are fully comp insured for under a grand (on the down side we do have to pay nearly £900 a year in road tax for all of them though )
  21. you all need to calm down..................... Ian... be honest mate.. you KNEW that by posting that link you were being derogatory about the town the guy lives in and thought you were being funny by doing so. claiming that you only posted a link so were blame free is a bit much. you knew what you were doing and although he went off at the deepend about is the adult thing to do would have been to say 'sorry mate i only meant it as a joke no harm done' rather than come straight out and call the guy a w@nker garetgax... yes ok Ian initial post was not that nice about your town but he meant it as a joke and it was not directed at you mate. no need to go into one over it. from then on in its turned into a name calling and who can pee highest up the fence contest. can we all take a chill pill? if nobody agrees with me then fine but as a very much third party reading this it really doenst give the site a great look or a very friendly feel. had i read many posts like this before i joined up i probably wouldnt have bothered back in school we would have all been made to shake hands and apologise to each other (even if we did it under our breaths and didnt mean it)
  22. wasnt me but i think i saw you at about midday in exeter on the A30. red 350 with after market wheels (car was moving so couldnt see which ones they were)
