  1. Seen tonight as I dropped a mate off, blurred the regy. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  2. You wouldn't want an Infiniti manual.... trust me lol There better for autos Even they themselves at dealers are not a fan lol. Be interesting to have a go in one, prob have to wait a while til' the more powerful one, but it'll be next year or more. They know fine well I wouldn't be dropping that kinda cash on the big one
  3. Wonder if it was the new guy I spoke to, he was chatty as hell mind you he did say to me V6 so meh. Think they've got a few new people. I'd def go back and try the 400bhp one when its out, I'd feel a bit backwards going to a 2.0 from the Z (even though I can't afford a new car lol), maybe shot myself in the foot with owning this car Thankfully David, Marie and the older ones are still there. Met the new tech (think his name was Alan, not sure) but he seems fairly knowledgeable on the Zs. Mine's goes back in on Tues for BOTH banana arms Such a weak point those ball joints, I've went through a few aftermarket ones and they only last a very short period and the car doesn't get smashed about on the road. So I've opted for offical Nissan ones to see if any difference. At least they'll have a years part warranty although its gonna be one expensive day.
  4. Ooooft! I come back and this threads shot off haha. Went from boy racers to driving standard quicker than my Z gets to 60 I agree with most points given, we ALL have poor driving skills to a degree (Even Ekona ) from the very nature that we are car lovers. Even accelerating hard as hell on a straight could be considered by some as poor driving, bad habits etc. It all comes down to a bit of common sense and hope the other people near you... have some too. I agree its frustrating when people are doing lower than the speed limit and I damn well will overtake them when its safe to do, because I can in a car like the Z, however I also agree that you should take the issue with a pinch of salt or whatever the saying is, as you don't know why... they could have something up (limp mode, slow puncture etc), they could be driving at their comfort level (which is fine) or simply not paying attention to conditions. Either way we're all lucky enough to have the power to overtake in most instances, just make sure its safe and won't caused them further stress. And it just depends on you but I look into things a lot more in detail (habit), watching where the drivers maybe looking, what he could do next and.... despite a person being just as important as anyone else, if I'm thinking about overtaking then I catch a glimpse of the top of a babyseat, I ease back just out of consideration, but thats just me. We're all different. No one is better than anyone else, just some have more experience, some have more thought process or identification when watching the road, at some point you'll mess up. I try to be as good as possible, not causing others issues, cutting people up, giving people freights as you pass, but you don't know how they'll react. I like most will consider myself ok, but didn't stop me years ago looking at a heater control on my last car and accidentally kissing the kerb with my wheel going down a corner turn. I've passed people with plenty of room and consideration and they will still flash sometimes just cos' ... Just be safe, enjoy the car, have a bit of fun when you can but be mindful of others and yourself. I love a good moral conversation lol (see my threads can be not bad...)
  5. Aw c'mon a 14.4 @ 102 is not bad, it'll def touch into 13's but maybe not with me haha. Did you go visit the Q60?? Prob be something people might latch onto, its a looker (cept for your dreaded c-pillar ) No one ever chased me in my old Coupe... wonder why
  6. Haha, love that wee vid. I totally agree Chirag, I've had plenty of times with similar powered or even higher powered cars, quick blast, quick bit of fun, little bit of a comparison, flash of indicators and back to normal. The ones you don't want are those who are undertaking, overtaking, up yer backside kinda fool. We can all be 'idiots', especially driving these types of cars and in no doubt you will be to someone, even if you are simply overtaking with plenty of room to get past, but there are differences between enjoying your car and possibly causing danger to others, even yourself as you don't want emergency services wasting time on your silly antics when they could be with someone who needs it. Just wanted a general opinion on what we think 'drives' the action as such lol
  7. So coming home from work tonight, sitting in traffic and some ...person in a newer shape Scooby WRX, STI, QPZ, whatever it is, keeps going past (due to traffic movement) and every single time they feel the need to subtly rev the engine as they pass me. I'm not even looking and initially hadn't even bothered about it. Then as we got closer to the roundabout he sped off to the left, him and the smell of drugs from the window. Few nights ago I had a modified Focus ST sitting up my backside also. I was driving fine, even when I hit the 60 road, just went up to speed and continued, hes 'lunging' forward every so often as if to egg me on, eventually over taking and then again rather dangerously on a blind hill. This has happened loads of times in the past too and its usually either modded hatches or japanese stuff. So what is it about the Z (I'm sure other cars too though) that others want to 'race'. My car has an exhaust system and tinted windows...thats it, it basically looks standard, so its not like I've got bumpers and big giant pipes hanging out waving people to 'have a go'. Is it because the Z (in its day) was a reasonably powerful thing and had the big engine so people want to try and see how their car compares etc? Or is it cos' its so different looking to hot hatches with its hunches etc that people want to chase. I don't mind having a short blast at stuff but it can be tiresome when you know its just some ....person.. shall we say that's just trying to be a bit of an ar*e lol. These are usually the people undertaking others to show 'who da man'.
  8. Just had a look at your pic that you can click on. Very nice, looks great on those wheels!
  9. The X150... I'm still considering it lol. It makes no financial sense...but neither does the Z. You can get black or carbon fibre bits for it to replace the chrome apparently Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  10. I'd still rather have a 'proper' GT than it but I'm silly with money so... (and by proper I mean a near 10 year old XKR that I yearn for so badly lol)
  11. Yeah when I seen it in pics its got that off balance thing going on with a bit of the roof, but it does work out a bit better in the flesh. Quality insides certainly good enough for the price, not hugely different from Q50, but steering wheel felt great in your hands. Rear seats looked quite big... not sure if its just cos I'm used to..none lol. From videos I've seen even the V6 will certainly need an exhaust upgrade. Wheel options are not great but maybe they'll add some more. A highly advise on it Irfan, you'll like it. I'm looking forward to seeing if the steerings any better than the Q50, which isn't all that great. They are certainly doing the right thing though offering a lower end model as a lot of 3 series coupes etc are all like 320's so makes sense financially, but thankfully they will still have the 400bhp one. Don't think were gettin' the 300 pony effort though.
  12. Seen plenty of pics online and some videos reviews from the states but this was the first time I've been able to see the car up close. Was in checking what arm was knocking... gd ol' banana again...yay. I must say, despite not being a fan of 'saloon coupes' it is a handsome angry lookin bugger. The sloping rear which I thought looked odd in some pictures works better in the flesh. Looked great in this colour too. Sadly only the 2.0L as the V6 won't be over here until a few months yet. Interior is what you'd expect and I must admit not much difference in quality of newer BM's and Audi's I've been in recently. Bit higher than the Z but it is wider. This one didn't have the flappy paddles. Most certainly one of the better lookin coupes right now, compared to the bland Germans. What do we think? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  13. You have to let me have a mad thread every so often, long standing members should know this by now
  14. Can I just point out the Mustang comment was a bit of fun cos my mate likes em... I don't. lol Had no other purpose. The thread was supposed to be a bit of fun, .... the joy of having such awesome cars for lower money and in no way was supposed to be compared to...doors, what it can carry etc etc lol. It was simple the cost. And yes...there will be people out there who thought I'll have a new saloon but then realised... I've always fancied that 'insert car here' and decided to take the plunge, so it does work! albeit probably few. My god fun chat on this forum is horrendous. It was simple... for this price bracket this is what new stuff you can get.... but if you are willing .. look what wonders you can have. And you bloody well can have an astra vs Z!!! People looking at a sporty new car can only usualy get slow hatches for the price of a used Z, so its nice to know the Z's depreciation enables you to own one. Thank you again KyleR lol
  15. Thank you! haha. Yes, thats all the fun I was gettin at. If you can afford to spend money on running, its nice to save a wad of cash and buy something ..older, but special. I'm 30 and thats why despite putting it back I'm determine to replace the Z with the XKR, although it may now have to be a 5.0 as the 4.2's are gettin hefty on mileage. Again... a once £70+K car that can now be had for so much less and is so appealing. Anyway I've had a good participation in my thread
  16. Who said anything about the £2K? I said running costs are accepted before ...the £40K is there to be spent as you wish. Who on earth would run an R35 on £2K ..thats ridiculous lol You arn't gettin this at all are you lol
  17. KyleR's got it lol. You could have an R35 for £38K. Point is some people will go and spend that large amount of money on something not special, something mundane, but if your a car nut and your willing to spend on running costs, the types of cars you can get for 'not that much considering the type of car' are tremendous. How is it that hard to see the point lol I could have bought a newish Corsa or Astra with my cash but I like cars and when I found out I can have 300 odd bhp and a big V6... I bought that instead.
  18. The point was not the car but the price... what you can get for the price. I'm quick typing, I'm not fussed about spelling lol Don't analyze it too much, someone asks you you've 40K. Have a new car or have something thats super special but you don't have to pay the £100K asking price... that simple lol You could just as well do the same scenario with this.... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201611169803412?advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=g22bp&body-type=Coupe&fuel-type=Petrol&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&radius=1500&price-to=8500&maximum-mileage=40000&sort=price-desc&page=1 or... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201611079516748?advertising-location=at_cars&model=350%20Z&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&body-type=Coupe&sort=price-asc&make=NISSAN&maximum-mileage=40000&radius=1500&postcode=g22bp&page=1
  19. NEVER.... lol Ok someone find me something else for £40K rather than a dull 3 series lol
  20. I love this. haha The point was I'm taking into account that someone could afford the running costs. ...likes cars (fair enough it doesn't need to be an Aston).. the chance to own something special for a crap load less is superb. You just gotta deal with the costs and you would know and have researched it before hand... My 15K could have been spent on some sort of BMW or Merc or something, something slow and really new, but I bought a Zed and have spent a fortune replacing stuff for its bloody suspension and other bits and bobs. The fuels horrendous and the tyres it goes through are stupid. Again... I knew this and I bought it knowing it'd be a heap more interesting than a new car.... So... I'm in the ....'F**k it I'll buy the Aston with ma £40K' camp As for the questions on the Stangs' there looks do not excite me, the interior and design is woeful (the shapes, look, tonka toy controls ) and there not exactly ideal to drive. No I have not driven the new ones, by the looks of reviews they seem to be ok? lol So point is... did you use your head when you bought your Zed? I'd hope not or else you would't have had one lol I don't think about depreciation or any of that and nor should you if your buying a car... that you want because YOU LIKE CARS. I don't care what the Zeds worth at the end, I drive it 17500 miles every year approx and it gets used every day. I'd do the same with the Aston, if I could afford the fuel, servicing and electrical gremlins lol And if I won the lottery I'd be bouncing about in this everyday also.. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201610299239425?postcode=g22bp&body-type=Coupe&make=ASTON%20MARTIN&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&advertising-location=at_cars&radius=1500&model=DB9&sort=price-desc&page=2 I'm just dreaming now...
  21. So on this... exciting Saturday night I got chatting with a friend about cars and what kinda stuff you can buy. He likes Mustangs, but we'll draw a line under that right now cos' there crap. I came across this point, I've noted it for a long time but it still staggers me. There are cars out there with not that much miles on them that can be had at such a huge 'discount'. As long as you can afford to run them (and I realise my example is extreme) you can save huge amounts on what is possible a barely run in car. I got my Zed practically new (15K miles, 3 yr old) for half price. Yes it costs a penny to run but its worth it. So... Have £40K burning a hole in your pocket? (I know I don't)... why not treat yourself to a new BMW.... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201611069496269?make=BMW&sort=price-desc&price-to=40000&radius=1500&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&advertising-location=at_cars&body-type=Saloon&postcode=g22bp&maximum-mileage=40000&model=3%20SERIES&page=2 ...or if you actually like cars, for roughly the same cost, you could risk it for a biscuit on one of these... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609207955486?radius=1500&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&body-type=Coupe&model=DB9&maximum-mileage=40000&postcode=g22bp&advertising-location=at_cars&sort=price-asc&make=ASTON%20MARTIN&page=1 Sure you might break down a few days later after moving its backside from the dealership but .... you so would.
  22. But to be honest you still want them to build it... you wanna see it lol. We all know the F1 will stay as the 'headliner' but it's nice to see them have a bash at something similar
  23. Yeah in terms of pace it'll be fast but with the hypercars of today its hard to break boundries like the F1 did back then. I think there just going after a kinda modern re-take due to customer demand.
  24. Update.... lol http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2016/11/16/OFFICIAL-The-McLaren-F1-Will-Be-Reborn-As-The-BP23-Hyper-GT-7736467/
  25. and so is the high sided Tesla lol. By the looks of the picture I'd rather have a better looking saloon that will fit just as many people in reality...4-5 lol
