  1. I am "star earthing" everything.... so I should be fine. But thanks for the heads up! Just noticed this... Did I say you can also bolt on a pioneer sat nav unit? So you can use it as a sat nav too... Which takes SD cards so you can keep it up to date. Pricey but I think I will get one eventually ...
  2. Having a pretty productive day today... Missed breakfast ... and lunch But the Red Fans arrived today.... So... all that is left to do now is ... (wait for the huge list!) ........Sound proof the internal drivers door skin ........Run the extra remote wire for the rear camera ........Sound proof the outer door skins (Passenger AND driver side) ........Install the Speakers ........Install the Cross overs ........Wire crossovers and speakers up ........Wire in the Head unit ........Hide and wire in the bluetooth unit ........Chase the mic cable to the top of the A-Pillar ........Wire up the amp Then I can test it and start putting ALL the trim back in!!!
  3. Working on my fans for the ICE install... Thought it might be worth a post....
  4. Ohhh... also, forgot to mention the work she had done yesterday.... 1. A dent in the door on the passenger side... 2. One right on the crease in the middle of the drivers door... and also 3. one at the bottom of the drivers door. 4. Also two huge scratches 5. near the fuel cap ....6. and a BIG dent and scuff down to black plastic on the bottom of the rear bumper... So 6 places to fix... Can't see them all in these pics as I forgot to do a "before" photo for my records. But they were all big! I wanted the ones in the doors out before sound deadening. As it would be hard/impossible to do once this was on. The scratches are still on the doors... but the dents are gone, so when I get round to a re-spray, it can be done without removing the acoustic membrane. Pretty good job for £200...
  5. Took a bit of sorting... mostly because I didn't know how to take the door apart, then struggled to put it back together again... but it is all working now! With the bonus of now knowing exactly how to do it for the future.. Passenger door internals are now sound deadened DON'T FORGET TO CLAMP YOUR WINDOW UP!!! Why you should always clean the surface you are sticking your sound deadening too... Done... Profile foam for directly behind the speaker... This stuff is CRAZY expensive, but I was given a "sample" just big enough for behind each speaker Closed the door afterwards and it sounded VERY solid. Just with the one layer on. Where as before with the door fascia off it sounded very tinny. So I think the stuff is doing it's job all ready!
  6. Scratch that... worked out that I needed to unbolt the gold/copper colour bolts too... AFTER I secured the window in place with a cloth and mole grips
  7. Can anyone tell me how to remove my inner door skins so I can put a sheet of sound deadening on the outside skin of the door? Can't find it in the manual... Removed all the green outer bolts but it won't come out and I don't really want to remove the bolts holding the glass in, unless I have to Cheers...
  8. Any chance of "AMP" being added? As well as "SUB"? And "Comps" Can't add "Audio/Visual" - "Other" - "Other" ... doesn't like it. Of course you could just add: JL 10W3v3 Sub Genesis Profile Four Ultra Amp Rainbow Germanium 265.25
  9. Im feeling SUPER lucky at the mo... Just had my renewal quote from Admiral. £818 ... Which includes me and Tam. Pleasure and commuting... On the Zed... with a 10% over stock chip and induction kit... AND all my new stereo kit Kept in the garage! AND ... the 118d, For Tam and I ... with a 10% over stock chip! With protected Claims Bonus.... Only sod is the £600 excess..
  10. That really is a shame bud... how bad is the Nissan made hole in your pocket?
  11. I had NO idea that insurance only went off the first two letters in the postcode. Possibly the first 3 or 4 ... but TWO ... really? That is just mental!
  12. Oh dear GOD yes BM .... Have a look when you can, no rush. Some one snapped the little seating bits off this one before I had it. Plus I kinda made a REAL hash job at the first attempt on that side, as you can see! Let me know what you want for it
  13. While the Zed is having a few dents, chips and scratches taken out of it... I thought I would have another go at the tweeters... Drivers side this time. Think the drill and file worked a little better... don't you? Not a bad job I don't think... At least I now only have to source a replacement one for the passenger side when I can.
  14. You ARE a cheeky git...
  15. Coldel, I am seriously considering this... but I am USELESS at this kind of thing... is it easy/hard to do? Cheers...
  16. Great tip.. Actually, after the chip, it is actually quicker than the 120d
  17. Cheers guys... Thanks/Sorry Chris!
  18. Yup... I used to feck that up royally too! I think I am not too scared of doing the dash. The door/window controls worry me. I mean how do you wrap deep inside the low section where the screw bolts it to the door? Does it really stretch that far?
  19. Apparently there are no holes drilled under it, it is just stuck on. Think a hair drying would be the way to go but I don't want to bubble/crack the paintwork...
  20. Tam wants the 118d coming off the back of her car. What is the best way for me to do it? Hair dryer? Fishing line/dental floss?
  21. What do I need, HX20000 or HX30000? Seen some on ebay... Looks pretty cheap. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120653239783
  22. So, how do I work out how much I need and what colour I like... (And how much it will cost) Down at my local place I had a load to choose from, tried them against my interior and everything. I DO like the idea of having a go... I kinda want to do the strutbrace cover too... Ian, you ever done any? Give me a hand? Could be a BBQ activity!
  23. Just not sure I have the skillz to pay the billz... How much would it be for enough to do what I need? suppose I could take a punt and try it...
