  2. Yeah, I checked that 15a when it wasn't working the first time round... Don't suppose I could have a dead dome issue? Husky?
  3. Right... good news and bad... GOOD news is... I popped down to my local stereo place and there was a guy there bored out of his skull who was VERY helpful and didn't charge me. Hooked it up to their test harness and the HU works perfectly! BAD news is... there is no ignition/'lights on' power to the standard ISO cables coming from the car... as I initially thought. The guy suggested I just used the ignition from the fag lighter, which is a good idea but I would like to find out WHY there is no ignition (or light switch) power... Anyone know where the fuse for that kind of thing is for me to check? Foot well or behind the battery?
  4. That sounds like a plan.... Don't think there is anyone round there though ... DOH!
  5. The ISO connector on the HU is tiny small... not standard at all. So I can't connect directly. No idea why there is an earth off to the steering controls. Looks like some kind of internal relay or something might be hiding in the plastic box.... I have power to the standard ISO ... but it seems ONLY to power the blue/white "striped" cable. Even if the lights or ignition are on, NON of the other cables seem to come live!? This connector here just looks wrong to me... i.e. the power seems to be on opposite sides?
  6. Yup, defo cut the right cable in the Sextons side. It is the only black cable and has TWO cables coming out of it. One is the main thicker one, which does form the HU connector to the car connector. The other one goes off to the bit for the steering wheel controls, so I presume it must be the earth. Gimme 2 mins and I will post up a pic Does the Converter to Car photo look wrong to you Dan?
  7. On the sextons connector side, it looks like I can take them apart and alter them.... (Had a quick go but it seemed impossible to take them apart) Is that something I am supposed to do?
  8. I know as I am posting this, it probably means I shouldn't be DOING it myself... but I thought it was going to be easier than this So, I think I have all the bits for my AVH-P4300DVD, but I can't get power to it. Here is the connector FROM the HU: Looks fine to me. Here is the Sextons converter: Also looks fine... and the wires/colours look like they match up fine when they are linked up... Like this: I have also chopped into the black earth cable in the sextons converter and linked it to an earth: BUT... I think there is an issue with the connector from the sextons converter to the car. LOOKS to me (could be wrong) like the connectors are the wrong way round!!! Looks to me like the HU is expecting power on one side and the car is giving it to the OTHER side. Am I wrong? Why else would the HU not load up?
  9. To me, that says you should stick with the Postie van... Keep as much cash in the company as possible...
  10. My Muppet brother-in-law used to clean/polish his car EVERY Sunday. Once Sunday the roof went "dull" and grey... Turned out he was t-cutting it every Sunday too.... Muppet...
  11. Flash sucks... apple rules... Getting back from my childish comments... Why didn't you just jail brake the iPad? then you get all the advantages of the iPad AND get to see flash websites...?

  13. Does this fit with the standard strut brace?
  14. Not sure why you would sell the Zed then have the L200? Trying to save cash...? Sell the Zed, buy the house, use the Pat-mobile. Use the cash saved on fuel for the L200 to buy a Zed in 6 months time.
  15. Well said Sparky.... I agree. Love my Zed but at the end of the day *holds breath and waits for flames* ... "It is only a car" Sounds like what you should REALLY do is sell the Zed AND keep the Pat-mobile... Hard decision but probably the right one. OR.... if you are not going to get much for the Zed. Wrap it up, cancel insurance, get it SORN. and drive the Pat-mobile daily.
  16. Sounds like you either NEED to get rid of the Zed ..... If you need to, then get rid of it. If not, then don't. Not sure what the L200 has to do with it (other than IT'S ACE... SO JUST GET IT) Or have I missed something in the explanation?
  17. Not sure if it will bother me too much with it being on the drivers side..... £45 delivered?
  18. Do you have a close up of the nick on the gear knob? Im interested if it isn't too badly damaged
