  1. I'm sure a dealer would be be to find it more easily
  2. Maybe no mod is needed and a phone call to Nissan would do the Job! Check out this TSB. It's from America and for an '03, but at least we know a part existed! You have to admire my Google skills.
  3. Thinking about it - couldn't you pull the airbag fuse? I assume the driver & passenger airbags are the same fuse though so you may want to add your own passenger airbag switch for when the kids in the car? Shouldn't be too hard (although hard to test I guess ;P). The Pug used the car key to disable it (key switch in armrest) which would be nice but maybe over complicating it.
  4. I was surprised the Z doesn't have a disable passenger airbag switch, I rented a Pug 307cc while on holiday (it was the only convertible they had!) and that had one... I guess Nissan think all Z owners will be single men on the pull who will be forced to sell their pride and joy when they get married/have kids anyway.
  5. And you didn't use a "Let me Google that for you" link?? Was that so hard?
  6. I have one on my car (was there when I bought the Z), costs about £125-150 per year and I only get about £20 off my insurance per year so financially it makes little sense. Also, if someone steals my car I'm not sure I'd want it back, at least it wouldn't feel the same afterwards... I suppose it may save an insurance claim if you get it back in good condition so could save money on future premiums I guess.
  7. Mine works perfectly! (Although it's only an '07 so maybe it'll die in the future).
  8. How silly is silly? I only bought my Z a couple of months ago (and went £2k over my budget ) so still nursing my bank balance a little...
  9. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to ask them for money off rather than getting a non-Nissan service done. Seems a shame to lose the full Nissan service history... I got £340 knocked off the price of my Z as it was due a service and then got mates rates at a Nissan dealer, full service+health check+radio unlock code for £185 Other than that it sounds like a good buy!
  10. The best economic performance is when a car reaches maximum torque I believe, read the section in the manual about how to set what revs the gear change light comes on at - I think it says set it to 4500rpm for max torque. (And no I haven't read the whole manual... just wanted to know how to change the rev light settings)
  11. Jean Todt excluded himself from that meeting to avoid a conflict of interest. So no, nothing to do with him... it must be everyone in the FIA that's in bed with Ferrari!
  12. Be patient and wait for the right car to appear... you'll only regret it otherwise!
  13. Oooh I haven't been to JAE in years (used to go with IMOC), haven't organised anything for this year and working until 10pm on Saturday but may pop up if I wake up really early on Sunday.
  14. I always wanted H4YDN... but it's on a '96 VW at present.... grrr...
  15. Yeah I've got the receipt... it would be nice to have a full set of stamps in the book though. I think I'll use special delivery and cross my fingers!
  16. You're obviously rating Nissan dealers below royal mail - close call I have to admit!
  17. Hi All, I bought my Z in June and it was missing a stamp in the service book, it's a June '07 313 and only had the '08 service stamped in the book - however there was an invoice for the '09 service and I called the dealership to confirm they have a record of it prior to purchase. I've since had the '10 service done* and it's stamped in location 3 of the service book leaving the 2nd location free for a retrospective stamp from the dealer who did the service. I'm really scared that the service book may go missing, so what's the best way to get this stamp done? Send the book recorded delivery with a self addressed recorded delivery envelope for the return? The dealership that forgot to stamp the book is Crosby Park Nissan in Liverpool - has anyone had any dealings with these guys? Are they reliable enough to trust with a posted service book? I guess I could drive there but it's 235 miles each way which seems excessive just to get a stamp on a car that's done 14.5k miles! *The '10 service was due when I bought the car, I bought it from a Hyundai dealer who offered to do the service for me but I wanted a full Nissan service history so they gave me £340 off the price... and then I got a full service done for £185 at mates rates @ Nissan. Cheers, Haydn.

    Problem

I'd suggest taking it to your local dealer or a wheel/tyre place and trying to describe the problem to them - if the language barrier gets in the way ask if you can take someone for a drive to show them the problem. They'll then be able to tell you what the problem is and quote on a price to fix it... probably easier than all this guess work!
  19. Tell them faxes are valid and provide the link I posted above... then tell the lazy ass call center bloke to get off his arse and do some work!
  20. They could use a molded air intake imho, something like this but nicer. ;P
  21. They can accept prints of downloaded cover notes as of April this year (which sounds a bit fake-able if you ask me!) and have accepted faxes for as long as I can remember, I used a fax in June. Photocopies aren't acceptable though which, considering you can take a print or fax, seems ridiculous! Confirmation from the DirectGov.
