  1. Thanks for the replys. I am using megs gold wax, which is a liquid. The reason i asked is that when i put a hose over the car prioir to shampooing the water beaded beautifully, but when i was hosing the suds off after the shampoo it was sitting more like a sheet. Possibly i was a touch high on the concentration though!
  2. The last couple of weeks i have washed and waxed the car. I would rather just wax it once a month though, simply washing it the remaining weekends. Would doing this remove the wax that is already on there though? I am using meguiars products btw. Thanks
  3. I get way in excess of that doing short 6 mile commutes for the whole tank...
  4. Not the most well phrased question... I am attempting to programme a new key for my uk z and wanted to ensure that I don't somehow end up wiping the code off of the one key I do have... Thanks!
  5. I have never had got less than 320 between fill ups, and there has always been 15l plus left in the tank... Uk spec.
  6. I have never had got less than 320 between fill ups, and there has always been 15l plus left in the tank... Uk spec.
  7. I just wanted to check one last time that I unlock the car with my existing programmed fob, then put the new unprogrammed key/ fob in the ignition barrel and perform the steps shown on the flow chart in the guides section? This is for a UK car btw. Thanks guys
  8. My knock over uneven roads was sorted after getting the front arbs sorted out.
  9. well I will certainly bear that in mind, cheers
  10. Thanks for that. He is selling new ones only and with the required respray that would make it an expensive option for my requirements. If no one has one for sale I will probably just get mine resprayed.
  11. Yay a reply at last, cheers! I thought that it may programme the fob over the air (in the same way you can unlock the car with a programmed fob from a distance).
  12. Well that was easy. Cheers chaps.
  13. Thanks mate but i'm all sorted now Think you may have missed the last couple of posts!
  14. Just as an update, it turned out to be a front drop link... my rattle did not sound quite the same as the compression rod rattle vid that was posted up elsewhere which was why i was not convinced it was the problem i had. Anyway, all sorted now
  15. You guys are the best, feel much more confident with all this talk of no tools required! Thanks.
  16. Thanks guys so I need to removed the weather strip entirely, run the mic cable then replace it? Or is there an easier way? Is it easy to replace the weather strip afterwards? Flat head screwdriver or something? These are the sorts of jobs I always fear doing irreversable damage with but I really want this aspect of my car right. Is the weathe strip that requires removing immediately obvious? Thanks!
  17. Hi can anyone tell me how to route a microphone to a suitable new position? I was thinking near the sun visor or so it drops through the courtesy light. I have no idea if trim etc needs to be removed to do this but I have read it's easy. Do you feed the wire through an existing seal or something? Thanks!
  18. Thanks for explaining that, much appreciated.
  19. sorry for the mini hijack, but i have noticed nearly everyone changes the Y pipe and the tail pipe/ back box. Is this through necesity or just personal preference? Will a Scorpion tailpipe fit to the standard UK Y pipe? I ask as i am thinking of replacing my stock UK exhaust due to a slight kink in it, and therefore would be happy to keep the Y pipe i have if i still get a nicer sound from the scorpion... Thanks
  20. Quick question regarding cutting the wires from the origional harness and soldering one end whilst taping off the unused ends - Can you use scotchloks instead? I know there is inherent vulnerability with these, but in theory will it allow you to tap of the existing harness without having to cut the 3 wires in the loom? Or will that not work for any reason? Thanks
  21. Never said it was the clutch.... My point was that I did not believe it was an inherently poor map because it has only just started doing it. I will concede that I could be wrong on this point for the reason I stated a couple of posts back.
  22. I suppose it could be.... Never noticed it on my other cars and don't understand why it does not happen at higher revs though....

    few questions

To prove or disprove the window reset recommendations, try making sure it's all the way up using the switch at the beginning of your journey. I would imagine that will ensure it's all the way up. Then you can see if the whistle stops. I greased the seals on mine and it did the trick.
