  1. Mk1 mx5. Not fast but brilliant fun. And putting up with all the comments makes you a more well rounded character!
  2. The only polish i have is T Cut. I'm a bit hesitant to use it as i have removed clear coat before with it (though that was trying to get a deep scratch out). I see halfords do a meguiars kit for £25.... is that the sort of thing i require?
  3. Is a claybar able to provide the extra abrasion required that a fingernail etc cannot then? Never used one before! Is it all fairly self explanatory regarding its use? Thanks.
  4. Hello. Typically, 2 weeks after having my bonnet resprayed i have a strange pink spot about 1mm in size on it I noticed it when i finished washing the car. The spot will not come off by rubbing a fingernail over it, but it certainly feels like it is proud of the paintwork. I am fairly confident it was not there immediately after the respray (and i dont think they would have sprayed a pink coat). So with that in mind, cany anyone advise me on what i should try and use to remove it? T -Cut? Or should i be looking at something else. Whatever it is, it seem really fixed on. Thanks.
  5. My last car was an R53 Mini Coopers S (MCS). Although i do not think that a Z is the fastest thing on 4 wheels, it is far faster than a MCS. And the MCS just felt plain dangerous above 70 mph as it skipped over any kind of rough surface. And that was after i had gotten rid of the run flats!
  6. You are spot on regarding the type 4 and type 6 info, I googles this info from the data on the box. The type 6 ones are 20mm thick (eibachs). They are brand new and have the longer studs. Pm me if you are interested. As you say, type 4's would make my life much easier (that's what the rear 25mm thick ones I have are). Failing that I will be removing callipers and discs in the near future...
  7. Thanks for the reply. I do have he longer wheel studs, hopefully they will be the correct length to accommodate the wheel without being too long so the wheel does not pull up tight... Anyone have idea how long a standard wheel stud is? I assume the studs I have should be 20mm (ie the width o the spacer) longer?
  8. Hmmm, somethings just dawned on me... do i need to change the studs for these ones? It would explain why there are 10 bolts / studs and no nuts.... Arse, if so, how much of a job is this?
  9. Hi, I purchased some 350Z spacers from someone on the boards, but unless i am being very thick, i cant see how these possibly bolt to the hubs... As you can see, the spacers are not tapped and have no counterbore, and so there is no way of: A fixing the bolts to the hubs or B Preventing the heads of the supplied bolts from protruding. The other pair are tapped and do have the nessesary counterbores.... Am i missing something, or are they just plain wrong? Thanks!
  10. Not certain yet, but it will be one from - E46 M3 E39 M5 (this is what i really want but repair bills worry me) 6.0 Monaro VXR VX220 turbo Caterham Quite a mixed bag there...
  11. I wanted something with lazy torque, a nice sound and rear wheel drive and a limited slip. I also wanted something that was comfy on crappy b roads which ruled out lots of other sports cars. In the end it was an odd choice of 2 cars, the Z and an E39 M5. In the end the running costs of the M5 put me off so went for the Z. I think the M5 might be my next car though...
  12. This is why I want to get a 2nd key cut and coded, but even that costs a fortune from Nissan, and the diy technique has a very low success rate from what I have read here.
  13. Was the exhaust changed on the uk facelift then?
  14. Thats dissapointing that they only start working when close, i would hope they start quite early so i have confidence they are working! I understand using the second aerial that is supplied boosts the range.
  15. Yes i saw that thread a while back. As you say though, it was all in the land of theory... Edit - thats not true, there is a post from someone who says it works fine as there is polystyrene between crash bar and bumper...
  16. Can anyone confirm if they work ok with the metal crash beam behind the 350z? And if they do, is there any additional parts required? Thanks chaps, would hate to go to all the work of getting the bumper off only to find the product is no good....
  17. Im looking to get some red mist in the near future. In the end i bought Autoglym fast glass. Seems to have given a nice streak free finish.
  18. If the answers to the above questions are yes then 2nd dibs!
  19. Thanks chaps, will look in to those products.
  20. Does anyone know of a good product for removing dead flies etc from the windscreen? I normally use normal household stuff but it's not that good at removing smaller particles and looks a bit smeary bit anyone has some tips it would be much appreciated!
  21. I read the manual the day i got the car... i do with every car, its the best bit
  22. Cant see the link at work, but i use a mer quick detailer which if often criticised, but i find it gives a lovely shine between wash and waxes.
