  1. Hi mate. The 55 plate at about 8.45 pm was me. I was going to pull in to the station for petrol, saw troops on both sides of the road and decided against it! You all looked like you were being very patient- most admireable. That journey back to Wilton from Warminster was one of the bes journeys in my life btw, deserted roads all the way. Hope your tank is ok now! Oh and that's the first time I have been spotted, so cheers for posting up!
  2. I have had a few nice cars, but the number of compliments my Z gets is amazing. Got another one this morning and would say i get a positive comment every few days (have had the car 5 months now). Also helps if you keep it all nice and shiny
  3. What happens if you try and register the spare whils the already programmed one is in the ignition? Tbh this is how I always read the instructions, but everyone interprets them differently!
  4. Typically I have started seeing one in the same colour and on the same year regestration as mine in my town... Why does that always seem to happen?
  5. Have you had the geometry checked? Crazy rear camber may contribute to your problem...
  6. Good find, thanks for taking the time to post that Seems like a slightly cumbersome method to have to use everytime, but i guess it would stop people from arming the system in this way through false of habit.... Will give it a try next time the weather creeps in to the 20's
  7. Possibly im being thick, but i cant see the picture of the exhaust fitted on the car? I was wondering how standard it looks? Is that with the Y pipe changed also? I am after an exhaust which gives a nice growl without changing the Y pipe ideally.... Insurance related reasons.
  8. is yours not clipping in at one of the top corners also? I can see the two little pips protruding on mine, there is about 2mm of daylight.
  9. Can you tell me how this looks and sounds compared to a standard uk exhaust? Without an aftermarket y pipe. Thanks!
  10. Thanks guys, I'm sure your right. The annoying thing is I have already had it all out once and it was no better. Like you say though, there is prob a wire or a bit of crap in the way. Will get someone to help me with it so when I push it up towards the windscreen they can see if the gap I have is being taken up or not. If it is then I have a knackered clip I assume? More likely it is what you have said though.
  11. I noticed the other day that my centre console trim that holds the gauges in was not fully snapped in on the right hand side by the windscreen. It always used to be snapped in fine, but I have had the trim out several times what with changing the stereo and then chasing a bad earth. Anyway, I had the trim out again today but can't get the right hand corner of the centre console to push flush with the trim that runs along the windscreen. The left hand side is fine. The clips do not look damaged, they just simply do not seek to want to mate up with the socket. I have also found that if I tighten up the two screw at the base of the centre trim (where the lower trim overlaps it), then the centre trim distorts so bad it unclips along the whole length of the windscreen. Can anybody give advice on what I should he looking at? I don't think it's a knackered clip because the problem becomes far worse when I tighten those lower screws. Having said that I can't understand what would he pulling tight - maybe the centre console on the stereo unit itself? If anybody has had this problem I would really appreciate some advice as I'm at a bit of a loss. Thanks!
  12. But this is the thing that confused me. I did not remote lock the car. I simply locked it by turning the key in the door. In other cars i have owned (including other NATS cars) that does not arm the car alarm, merley it immobilises it. Anyway, not just me then! Will double check that the interior light does go off eventually if the car is not locked and resort to that method. And to the poster above - yes, the weather is not as hot today
  13. I thought that if you did not press the button on the fob then the alarm would not be armed anyway... obviously not the case as my alarm went off when i sinmply twisted the key to lock the car. Maybe the double tap of the lock button is the way forward... wil try it later.
  14. Well mine went off this morning when i locked the door via the barrel with the key. This was with the windows open , so thats not an option
  15. Good point regarding double tapping the lock button - used to work on the NATS on my 200sx, but remember not seeing the detail for doing that in the 350z manual.
  16. About £100 if it needs some adjustments in my experience
  17. Without setting off the alarm? Uk car. I thought loking the car with the key rather than the fob buttons would do it, but as i was walking away this morning the alarm went off! With the hot weather at the moment i was hoping to leave the windows open so the seats do not burn me on my return! I dont 100% need to lock my car as i am parked on a secure site, but : a) i would rather im not sure if the interior light ever goes off if i dont lock the car in some fashion. And although there is probably a manual way around this, i dont want to forget one day and have a flat battery! Thanks
  18. Interesting info, thanks very much. The only problem is that requires me to fall in to the hands of my local Nissan dealers, who up to now have failed to ever reply to any of my phone calls....
  19. Anyone know of any clips of this exhaust and y pipe set up? Ideally with the unslicenced mid section. Also, do the tail pipes look like the standard ones? And what's the fitment like? Looks good from the pics. Thanks.
  20. Mine neither. What i would like is to be able to hear the exhaust at higher revs. At the moment (std UK zorst) the engine noise seems to swamp the exhaust above 3.5k rpms...
  21. Exactly what i want to hear... i was worried i might not notice the difference without an aftermarket Y pipe. Possibly thats not the case then.
  22. What does this combination sound like when compared to the standard y pipe? A lot of people say the scorpion back box without the japspeed y pipe is not much louder than standard, was wondering if I may as well save a few quid and get the same sound by changing the y pipe and not the back box.... Honestly? It's not that loud really. Bear in mind that I've done that on purpose to ensure that I'll never have an issue with any trackday I choose to do, but it's also worth remembering that I used to have a K1 on there that I ran happily sans inserts so I do enjoy a loud exhaust! I forgot to mention I've also got a Popcharger on there too, and for me when the car is under load at WOT and I'm ripping through the gears to the 7K redline I'm more than happy with the noise the car makes: There's enough edge to put a tingle down your spine still. I do wish it was a bit more fruity at lower RPMs with less throttle, but I'm not prepared to risk losing trackdays by putting a different backbox on. For most people who are looking for a noise increase over anything else I would say that changing the Y-pipe alone probably isn't going to be enough for them, but then I haven't heard too many other Zed exhaust combinations in the flesh to have a proper comparison. Thanks for such a detailed and honest reply Looks like i am going to have to fork out the extra cash for a back box then.
