  1. It is just about getting a comfortable driving position, I think the ratio between my arm and leg length must be weird as if I sit close enough to reach the wheel comfortably I feel like my knees are up around my ears! There's a lot of travel after disengaging the clutch so I think can lower the biting point quite a bit yet and still have enough to properly disengage. I presume the resting/high point of the clutch pedal is automatically lowered by lowering the biting point? Can you tell I don't know what I'm talking about!
  2. I've always thought the z has quite a lot of travel in the clutch pedal and quite a high biting point so I was interested to read this http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Clutch_Adjustment Has anybody adjusted there clutch as above? Did it make much difference? Could I screw anything up if I tried doing it?
  3. I had a squeak from the strut too or so I thought. I took the Z cover off and greased the underside every where it makes contact with the strut bar, that got rid of about 50% of the squeak. I tracked the rest down to the poly moulding under the boot floor that sits around the jack and spare wheel, the jack was rubbing on the moulding making a squeak. Was also squeaking from the tailgate latch loop that had come a bit loose, removed the tailgate lining and tightened the screws and all quiet.
  4. I'm no expert but my humble opinion, I would avoid it. Lack of rays wouldn't bother me as I prefer the standard wheels but the lack of servicing, non gt spec and only one key would be enough to put me off. I'm sure given a bit of time you could find another without those marks against it, if you see them as that.
  5. My boot catch loop is very loose when the boot is up, are they all like this? I ask as when driving it creaks and rattles. I've tried greasing it but made no difference, only temp fix I have found is to wedge some card around the catch loop until its wedged solid, this lasts a few days before working loose. If the catch loop is not supposed to be loose how do I go about removing the tail gate lining to get at it? Any advice appreciated.
  6. Not sure what they are yet, I only seen a poor mobile pic of them and a pic of the same wheels fitted to an evo. Going to look at them today, they are going very cheap as guy is desperate to shift them because he is moving abroad this week. May just get them to put on for the winter. Do you sell the spigot rings if I needed them?
  7. Is central hole diameter likely to be a problem, I mean won't all aftermarket wheels have the same issue?
  8. The rays are staggered but the standard 6 spokes are 8 wide front and rear.
  9. Thanks guys. It doesn't concern me not being staggered as the standard oem wheels are not staggered, nissan obviously think that's ok and that's good enough for me! Won't the difference in tyres give something of a staggered effect anyway?
  10. Ive been offered some wheels from a friend of a friend, they are 18x8.5 114x5 et30 all round with 225/45 on the front and 245/45 on the rear. Forgetting aesthetics would these be ok from a purely functional point of view?

    Dotz GT-R

wheels only there about £660 so then with say £300 for a decent paint job your looking at £960 for about a grand you could get the varrstoen wheels which are another copy of the te37 and come with better offsets (et12 or et0) Cheaper here; http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... 12956.html Dont know about carriage though.
  12. I need to get the car serviced for the first time under my ownership and am unsure where to take it. Dont really have the time or inclination to venture too far from home so are there any reccomendations near Norwich? I have checked the good/bad thread. Would ideally like to go with main dealer but will consider an indie if theres a good one familiar with Z's nearby. Any one with experience of Desira on Vulcan Road?
  13. Thanks Zugara, although you werent quite right about what it was your post has lead to me finding it I checked your thread regarding the noise and it was mentioned there were also two rubber stops on the tailgate, so I lubed em up and hey presto noise is gone! Made my weekend
  14. It does sound like rubber on metal, will give it a go.
  15. Definately not a rattle, a squeaky sound. Are the droplinks a big job to change? Can they not just be lubricated if in good condition or do they only tend to squeak if totally knackerred?
  16. I recently noticed a squaeky/creaky kinda sound coming from the passenger side of the car primarily when I go over speed humps but occasionally much more quietly on very bumpy roads at low speed. My first reaction was its suspension related, so I got my bro to stand beside the car while I drove slowly over a hump. He couldnt hear anything from the outside while it was clearly audible inside so then I thought maybe its just an interior/trim noise as surely if it was something outside the cabin it would be louder outside the cabin would it not???. I then noticed that if I drove over the hump at an angle rather than straight on it didnt make the noise or only very very slightly. I pride myself on being able to identify where noises are coming from, dash rattles have become a speciality but this has me stumped. If anyones got any suggestions as to what it could be I would be glad to hear them. I'm also suffering squeaky brakes at the mo but new pads and shims are on the way so I may get the suspension checked when theyre fitted.
  17. The main difference between Poweflow and Longlife is Longlife are a better grade of stainless, cant remember where I read that but sure it's right. Its the quality of the welding that will vary from welder to welder so if you get a reccomendation for a branch try and check if the guy welding your's is the same guy that did the one the reccomendation was based on. Still cant believe that price, If i had got quoted that I would have deffo had one.
  18. Think someone should email the seller and tell him the historic dyno results? Someone could be right royally ripped off.
  19. I heard good things about them, far better than something like poweflow apparently. When I got a quote it was £800-£900 though so I would say that is a very good price
  20. 26 y/o no points + 26 y/o GF no points 6 yrs NCD unprotected Parked on driveway Company Director Fully Comp Direct Line - £380 and a few pennies. The GF has just got some points though so may have to get her off....so to speak.
  21. Depending on price and presuming the fit is good put me down for a trim kit please.
