  1. Just found this, http://www.cobbtuning.com/products/?id=3686 Sounds like it could be more user friendly than the Uprev system.
  2. The plastic can be sanded using say 600/800 grit wetndry, then you can either machine polish or do it by hand, with G3.
  3. Is your clutch worn or not adjusted correctly, you haven't got a leaky gearbox seal/low or wrong oil have you?
  4. Would have thought that the 350Z being a GT car, its more about in gear acceleration rather than 0-60. Oh! and using the handbrake to initiate drift is an excepted novice technique with lower powered cars in Japan .
  5. I think most are intended to work with the stock or aftermarket clutch design, lightened flywheels are great for the track, but in normal road use you will find that more frequent gear changes are necessary, due to the lack of inertia, i have never liked them on the road,
  6. How are my comments juvenile exactly? My point was that bad examples still command high prices and pound for pound, the zed is a better car Jesus Sorry but two smelly old comments, and you're out
  7. The Supra cockpit is a way nicer place to be than a smelly old 350Z, Please try to be a little less juvenile and a little more imaginative with your derogatory remarks I think we get the picture, you don't like them. They still command high prices because they are a very well built and capable car, and yes they are in two different leagues, the Supra is old but in terms of performance and handling can make the 350 look pretty mediocre, also seeing as the 350Z is a lot younger, i have still found examples at 6-7K so in comparison, its not doing too bat for a 17 year old design I like the Supra for what it can do and i also like the 350Z for its looks, its all a matter of prerferences. In that case then my suggestion suits you best 350Z with a 2JZ, there is a kit available in the states to do it If i could afford to do it,and had the Patience these days, it would be an excellent idea.

  9. At the risk of going near the taboo, MPG subject, i always find that the BP ultimate gets better MPG than Optomax. But then we are not supposed to talk about it, because owning a "sports car" means never having to worry about MPG again, doesn't it?
  10. Thanks looks pretty similar to the S14 setup.
  11. You're not kidding! think I'll just give up on the subject, and try and get the info elsewhere.
  12. If you're not interested then please don't bother posting a comment, and leave it to people who are, that way it won't waste your time and effort, simple!
  13. Just wondering if the brake and clutch peddles adjustable? i like smaller movement (within reason) i found my old S14 was adjustable, so hoping the 350 will be too.
  14. Glad you took it with a pinch of salt, I don't think you will regret owning a Zed.... although I am a massive fan of the Supra Heres my old one Nice aerotop, since we are on a show and tell, I'll chuck a couple up of my "preciouss"
  15. LOL! it may be all academic now, as i have just taken a deposit on the Supra That is unless i bottle out! I think the Z looks great, but i am inclined to think the designer lost interest when he got to the rear end As for the voting, I'm on the fence
  16. its more the image i've felt thats come across over the past few months over several threads. it feels like you know you need to change but for you the change is a compromise on something you love dearly, and i fully understand that. i know that you like the zed, and know that it has good merits, but deep down you still love the supra big time. changing cars is never easy, especially if you've come from something thats set a high bench mark. but i think with time and a change in driving style that makes the most out of the zed it will be a car that will really grow on you. personally i think the most we'll notice is a difference of maybe 1 or 2 mpg at most, and their are so many variables like driving styles, how heavy someones foot is etc. Yes in most respects you're perfectly right, it is a big change, and as i have said before, i think the more updated feel and different kind of driving style will be ultimately more enjoyable, I guess i have been looking for some kind of reassurance, hence my asking about others that have come for turbo cars etc. Also one of my justifications for getting a Z was hoping that it would be a little more rewarding when it comes to fill up time, as i am sick of emptying my wallet at the petrol station So i wanted to weigh up any difference in the two 350Zs ECU against MPG and tuneability, i am sorry that some peoples don't find my criteria valid.
  17. you put the supra on a very high pedestal, and seem to spend most of your time grumbling about the short comings of the zed, its like you don't want to change. i'm all for useful discussion, but if you keep waving your supra around like some kind of wonder car, your not going to endear yourself to members. imho they both have the same engine so any difference wont even be noticable!! best stick to your precious supra! Oh FFS! when in this thread have i actually referred to my Supra? all i have said is that i have come from something that makes the 350Z look silly, plainly referring to fuel consumption!
  18. you put the supra on a very high pedestal, and seem to spend most of your time grumbling about the short comings of the zed, its like you don't want to change. i'm all for useful discussion, but if you keep waving your supra around like some kind of wonder car, your not going to endear yourself to members. imho for the benefit of the thread. UK spec car, before the winter was averaging 25 mpg currently down to about 20-23 mpg this is on short journeys about 8 miles a day. this may be down to mods. long journeys was seeing about 32 mpg, currently on about 30 mpg. hoping after a remap to see a change for the better, but main aim is for performance and torque. i think the new spoiler has added to the drag co-efficient hence the drop of around 2mpg. i am monitoring my mpg on my phone with a special app, so should be able to plot any changes from now and through the remap. hope that helps First off you're taking my comment completely out of context, i was referring to the fuel consumption only when referring to the Supra (which incidentally i didn't mention) Secondly, why the hell am i here asking what i thought to be pretty reasonable questions, if I'm not interested in the 350Z, i am neither trying to endear or alienate myself to other members, except perhaps the ones that have nothing but derision for an answers. (not yourself by the way) And thanks for the input It was a perfectly valid question IMO, and not designed to run 350Zs down! FFS can't anyone start a discussion unless its to discuss the merits/demerits of drifting around a rounderbout and filming it yes it is a car forum, my point was car related - why buy a 3.5l V6 sports car and then worry about fuel economy... Anyway can't stop I need to post on the VW Polo BlueMotion forum about lack of performance... Why not? i was asking the people who might have an interest, if you're not, why bother with the facetious comments? does it make you feel clever
  19. Ask a dumb ass question, get a smart ass remark From your edit you say you came from a thirstier car to the Z so why be worried about mpg? It's like trading the missus in for a younger model and worrying that she makes you look old! Silly me, thought this was a car forum, and i thought i might just get some sensible answers
  20. Hmm you could be right but I have heard its better/easier to tune a JDM as its got a better ecu for remaping. Thats what i heard anyway. Yes i believe the UK ECU because of the live AFR v airflow monitoring etc will always keep the AFRs to the preset maps, by live reference, so you can't fool them with a piggyback or such like, whereas the J spec ECU is of the more convectional type, and so you have more leeway. So because of this i would expect the UK car to have slightly better fuel consumption figure's.
  21. First post now edited to explain why i asked the question, and hopefully avoid the smart ass remarks
  22. Just wondering are UK 350Z owners getting consistently better MPG than Import cars? Be interesting to find out. Edit! OK maybe i should of stated my reasoning behind the question, Which is because the UK 350Z has a more advanced ECU IE it runs wideband lambda sensors, and so monitors the AFRs in realtime, along with quite a few other functions, i wondered if it was more fuel efficient as a result. Obviously i expected the smart ass "you bought the wrong car if you're worried about fuel consumption" crack, well actually i am! as i have come from driving something that makes the 350Z look silly, So yes i would quite enjoy getting a few more MPG
  23. Is it a UK model? they have a more advanced version ECU which uses wideband lambda feedback so a lot of functions and in particular AFR are monitored on a real time basis, so it may be possible. I keep meaning to start a thread asking about UK V import fuel consumption, so thats my next post
  24. Has anyone got these fitted in 19"? could somebody post up some pics please?
  25. Well we have all voiced our opinions, all from different viewpoints (well what do you expect ) We have slaged each other off for said opinions, formulated probably completely wrong opinions of other members based on their opinions. We have all done the holyer than though bit whilst secretly hoping that nobody saw the (delete where applicable) speeding, crafty drift, spin turn, wheel spin, dodgy overtaking manoeuvre etc etc We all pretty much agree that it was stupid to film the dogy drift and then stick it on Youtube. So before WW3 breaks out and the ban threats start, could we please find a more interesting subject to get our collective teeth into
