  1. I would hardly say the Tein super streets and EDFC on my Supra classify as tired or old "but i am the 'king' of late braking lol, grow some balls man!" You mean you actually brake for corners
  2. Unstable on the brakes! that sounds a little worrying, i think its the heavy well planted feeling that i like about the Supra, i had a 350BHP 200SX S14 before that, and i always found that to be a little on the twitchy/unstable side, i can get the Supra around corners far quicker than i could the S14 for that very reason.
  3. Can anyone tell me what the boot dimensions are, i realise that the first part from the divider to the brace are not very big, but what is the available space to the rear of it? and also how deep is it from floor to the hatch, maybe a strange question but is there enough room to get a cat carrier in? the plastic flight case type? We have and used to breed Siamese cats, and should a trip to the vets be needed will the Carrier go in the hatch space or is it the passenger seat/wifes lap.
  4. Unfortunately the whole new Supra thing is on and off more than the pros proverbial knickers, and so is the engine choice, N/A, hybrid, supercharged etc, and i think the projected price is over the 100K mark The NSX look more realistic.
  5. Oh yeah! I would have one as well as the Supra but not instead of, if you can tell me the winning lottery numbers for next week
  6. How many times have we heard that before Good luck with the sale/PX anyway mate LOL! How many times have i said that before Thanks for all the good wishes guys and i realise that the look is a bit marmite, so it may take a little longer to find a buyer to fall for it, but i wouldn't return it to std, too much work gone into it.
  7. Yes as soon as i can find one i will gladly give my thoughts on a direct comparison drive Yeah! the biggest problem with big power RWD cars is traction, Supras are not really a 0-60/dragstrip type cars, there mid to hight speed grunt is where the excel, i enjoy the look of shear joy/terror from a passenger who wants to experience what a single turboed Supra is like on rolling acceleration. However i bet the 350 gets the power down better and cam make a slightly quicker quarter? Going on from my "supra PX thread" now that hackles are down i am interested in the old V new aspect and also it has been mentioned that quite a few seem to view the R34GTR Skyline as an upgrade from the 350Z, (which is what i presume bronzee means in the quote ) Yes i do agree that the Supra is now a rather dated design, but i also think that of all the Skyline family, even the R34 is an older design, abet with a lot electronic of bells and whistles to make it tame on the R34, having driven a few Skylines, i would advise as i was, to have a drive first, i suspect that some may well be disappointed in comparison, I was surprised at some of the comments that the Supra is a direct competitor to the 300ZX, although both are 3 litre twin turbo, that is where all the similarities end, but i guess you need to drive both to better understand my point;) Also i was surprised at the comment about the interior of the Supra as IMO it is one of the best laid out i have seen, and feels like being in an aircraft cockpit, and i have to say in all honesty that it is far better quality and fit than either the skyline or the 350Z (sorry thats not just being derogatory either) Now to me the logical upgrade i would presume would be the new R35 Skyline or the 307Z as they have all the design ques of the 350Z and so should appeal in the looks and the tech department?
  8. Thanks guys, as explained earlier i just thought some might be interested, but hey theres no accounting for tastes LOL! My main reason for the Supra going is down to, been there, done that , spent far too much money, and now i fancy a change Plus i would quite like too only spend around 10-11K on a 350Z and bung some money in the bank for a change I actually don't intend to do many mods to a 350, so theres a rather large statement of to the 350s looks, as i am not one to leave anything standard for long
  9. Sorry but if you read my first two posts, all i said was "So if you fancy a change to a mad turbo car give me a shout " and "Nobody fancy an upgrade to a quality GT car with performance to match and better some supercars" I did not say a Supra/my Supra is far better than a 350Z! in the end i did say that its faster, which is no lie. I also said that my Supra IMO handles very well for a heavy GT car, at no point did i say it handled better than a 350Z! So if by saying "Nobody fancy an upgrade to a quality GT car with performance to match and better some supercars" i am slating the 350Z the i'm sorry! FFS i am after buying one After all i have not come on here and implied that some of the prices being asked for 350s for sale are unrealistic and don't really equate with other cars, how many of you have spent thousands on modifications/resprays etc and are quite happy that somebody thinks your car is worth less than a competitive make. So maybe some will see where i'm coming from, some maybe not, although its all put in a polite manner, its still saying the same thing, so maybe now we have finished defending our respective cars, can we still be friends if not i'll just say
  10. Mate, just cos its fast doesnt make it an upgrade. The zed is not really a quick car, and i dont really think it tries to be. The zed is hot car to look at currently though, probably as the supra once was back in the 90's. The zed turns everyone's heads now, whereas i feel like the supra would just turn the heads of blokes in their 30's, IMHO of course ...and coming on here and keep telling everyone that Supra's are better than zeds will not get you very far at all I wasn't trying to tell anyone its better, it is a dam sight faster, but thats not what i was trying to get at, i was however trying to defend it from imprexa99 comments, who's brother owns a Supra so he must be an expert and then goes on to imply that its not worth the money, so who's doing the knocking? Also being well over my 30s i aught to know better to argue/dispute these comments as i came from a forum with very similar attitudes. I'm glad that geraghtyr200 injected a more sensible attitude to the comments and seemed to see where i was coming from
  11. Hope you get a Zed bud, I don't think anyone is knocking your Supra, ive posted on your other thread as I used to own one and loved it to pieces. It would be an upgrade on power if someone px'd but it would be going back a bit in terms of up to date cars if you get my drift, they are an old car now sadly. You defo need to have some spare cash for a twin turbo upgrade when you get your Z Good luck bud Thanks! i think you may well have summed it up there, and your comment on my other thread and its good to know just what an ex Supra driver thinks about the two in comparison, and you are dead right about the need to sample the 350 myself. I guess its all a matter of opinions, i have driven a few evos and in comparison with the supra i just don't like them, and thats including the twisty bits experience, at which everybody rates them but give me the Supra any day, and i was just trying to equate imprexa99 comments on relative values, considering he knows Supras and while i can see the styling/age thing, i can't quite get to grips with saying an R34GTR is very much newer or better, don't get me wrong they are nice, but in the same way the Impretsa WRX is, IE its an instant hero car very easy to drive fast and look good doing it, but with very little driver feel, just like the evo IMO of corse
  12. If a Supra is not an upgrade to a 350Z driver, then i would be interested to know what is then, a Ferrari F430 maybe? a car that a decent single turboed Supra is quite capable of embarrassing, in a straight line anyway
  13. Sounds similar to the Supra engine in its power delivery (turbo aside) perhaps i won't be too disappointed then I'm trying to slow myself down a bit anyway.
  14. Right on the Sussex coast in St-Leonards, i did put up a post in the introductions page asking if anyone around my area would take me out or let me drive a 350, but nothing so far, big ask i guess, and none of the dealers around this way seem to have any.
  15. Thanks! yes my big problem at the moment is finding a 350 to test drive, my reasons for asking the question are fairly obvious given my present car, but although the 350 has a good rep for the twisties, the Supra is no slouch round the twisty bits, in fact it surprises me frequently, and although i know there are quite a few quicker, the only other that i have driven that is quicker, is a mates 600BHP R32 GTR. I guess i am trying to find out by my previous question is if the 350 is up to quick overtaking at mid to higher speeds, IE can given a reasonable space dispatch two or three cars without the risk of it running out of puff leaving you in a dangerous predicament?
  16. Had a look at insurance costs etc, and found that there won't really be a lot of difference between running a 350Z and my 500BHP Supra presumably due to being a younger car with the added costs of replacement parts/panels etc and still a current production. So being realistic how quick is a 350 on the road? now as its a reasonable 276BHP V6 with i presume reasonable torque curve, and lighter than a Supra, i would expect it to be marginally quicker, at least until the Supras turbo spools up properly But what is the mid to high speed acceleration like in real terms?
  17. I mights be tempted for £5 or 6 k my way I presume your referring to a Nissan Pulsar GTIR
  18. Sorry if i seem a tad impatient, i think its due to me finally making the decision to part with it. Thanks Thanks Thanks Two more than a 350Z (just) Upgrade? Pretty sure you mean downgrade to a 14 year old Toyota ;) I jest, looks nice enough but not my cup of tea. Best of luck with the sale and hope to see you in a Zed soon! Thanks! i think You obviously know very little about Supras then, this time last year i could have asked 18K for this and got it. GTRs are nice cars and can be made very quick if you have deep pockets, but for shear grunt and reliability you cant beat a Supra Oh! and a gti-r is a small Nissan hatchback
  19. Is there anyone who lives on the South Coast who would consider helping?
  20. Nobody fancy an upgrade to a quality GT car with performance to match and better some supercars.
  21. Thought i would put this here as it seems a logical place to ask, i am selling my spoilt rotten MKIV single turbo Supra (500BHP) for which i'm asking realistic 14.5K http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1233885.htm But i would like to replace it with a 350Z, so i am looking for an import preferably on the lower tax bracket, and preferably modded, and priced around 10K but will consider an 11K limit with cash my way for the right car. So if you fancy a change to a mad turbo car give me a shout
  22. As I posted above. Unfortunately it looks like the nearest is London. It looks like hes looking for a near std Supra, mine is a little individual
  23. Are there actually any meets that take place on the South Coast?
  24. Hi again, i signed up a little while ago, as i was thinking of selling my single turbo MKIV Supra, only a half harted attempt as i'm not 100% sure i wouldn't miss it too much, anyway only advertised it on Pistonheads, and kept getting offers of M3s and S200 for PX Anyway i digress, i do quite fancy a 350Z however i have been looking at several local car dealers so i can get a test drive, but so far i have not been able to find one, and my intension is to re advertise my Supra specifying that i will take cash or PX for a modded 350Z, but i still have yet to drive a 350, so i really can't go forward until i do! So i would beg a favour of any local east Sussex based 350 owners for at the least a ride in one or if you are feeling generous a drive, i have fully comp insurance that allows me to drive other vehicles, and i am a mature driver with no accident's/convictions that drives a 500BHP Supra, and i'm sure providing you have similar insurance and are not a nutter, a reciprocal drive in my Supra will be fine A lot to ask i know but needs must, and if you don't ask etc
  25. Thanks for the replies so far, keep them coming I know its going to seem desperately slow to start with, as i will be coming from a 500BHP Toyota Supra, i am an experienced RWD enthusiast so that will hold no worries for me, i'm not entirely sure of what the performance figures are? also hoping that consumption will be better than 20MPG (and that pootling around for the Supra, single figures when pushed) Just want something that can be really pushed on the twisties.
