The manual i have is presumably for US spec, now is this same as JDM or UK? The lambdas in this are definitely 0-1v switching type, not 0-5v wideband.
-
Just go a hold of a workshop manual, interesting stuff, the ECU is a clever little bugger, but it doesn't run a wide band setup, however it does have a dual lambda feedback system, mainly for emissions, but it could make closed loop and even map based tuning interesting, the main problems i can see after a quick look is down to the OBD2 running constant active fault monitoring, but i'm sure that can be dealt with, just got to do some more reading.
-
Thanks for that just what i needed.
-
Is there one for download knocking about on the net somewhere, did a search but haven't turned up anything yet.
-
Thanks! one further question, does the ECU use the Bosch LSU4 lambda sensor?
-
Thanks for the info interesting, So are you're saying the std ECU is a true self learner, and uses a wideband lambda as std? if so i take it that it uses live monitoring and has constant feedback all through the RPM and load range, which precludes signal fudging. Also do you mean that the UK ECU is not a self learner, and as such would probably be more amenable to signal fudging? Interesting about the det maps, would make piggybacks even more of a problem, have you got a link to more info on the UPREV system please? Is the US ECU different? as the us guys seem to use piggybacks a lot when going F/I.
-
Thanks guys, i have had a look at some of the recommend searches, i should have been a little more specific, as i am primarily interested in the use of the Emanage Ultimate on the 350Z. And also interested i talking to somebody with experience of the STD ECU. I have also read of the ECU not allowing adjustment to bolt on mods, it obviously has limitations on the maximum airflow that it will see from the MAF, so i was wondering if a pigyback can get around this? No really interested in ECU remap/reflash as i want to map myself, same applies to Haltec as this i thought was stand alone, and the HKS F-Con is dealer mapping only.
-
Sorry but my reason for asking was due to not turning up anything definitive from searching. There is a link to ECU pin outs in technical that appearers to be dead, and i couldn't find anything particularly informative on using piggybacks, only unichip etc which i don't really view as one. I was also hoping to strike up some dialogue with somebody that has fitted and tuned a piggyback ECU on a 350Z, sorry for wanting a chat with a technical type.
-
As every bhp or ftlb is very hard won when it comes to tuning N/A engines, i though i would ask if the std ECU fights and mods made to the induction/plenum or exhaust? Has anyone any experience of using a piggyback on the std ECU? can it be fooled easily to run higher AFRs in and out of closed loop? (for that matter what are closed loop parameters on this engine?) Has anyone got an ECU pin out diagram?
-
Thanks guys, i was interested as my Supra can embarrass any 350Z with its drinking habits but the tax is only £200 odd per year, which helps make up for it And i don't really want to pay double as well as extortionate fuel costs, incidentally what is the average fuel consumption for a 350Z?
-
Did search but can't find anything definitive, so can anyone tell me, i know it will depend on year, and does import of UK make a difference?
-
So what is your new car going to be? incidentally my Supra came from Jurgen, nice guy and a good trader.
-
True! they are very well built, as for huge power being cheap, its not, unless you call 6 -10K to convert to a single turbo with all the ancillaries. You can get an easy 50-60 BHP for about 1K by decat etc,you then end up with around 380BHP, but to get big power takes a big single turbo, or big twins, then 8-900BHP is not out of reach, with 550-600BHP attainable with std engine internals, and 6-700BHP with a few carefully chosen engine parts. Looks wise its very much an eye of the beholder thing, and i personally think they look great, and better than the 350Z IMO, they are the kind of car that people see in their rear view mirror and move over for, and i have seen people flinch at the sound of the screamer pipe when overtaking
-
My whole point was NOT to add cash, to reiterate, i am looking for a 350Z around the value of 10-11K with cash my way, but thanks for the bump anyway
-
Well due to not being sure about letting it go, its still here, just not driving it much at all, so it needs to go to somebody who will actually get some use from it, so I'm still up for a PX for a 350z
-
I have found that the Ring figures are not always a std car despite words to the contrary, it also depends rather a lot on the driver
-
I guess us Supra lovers are like the odd family member that kept quiet about, as you say it is a 350Z forum Thanks, but unfortunately i need to recoup some money, also i have an aversion to soft tops.
-
Thanks guys seems the footwell would be the best option then, as my wife is short, is it me or are they always the bolshie loud ones
-
I would hardly say the Tein super streets and EDFC on my Supra classify as tired or old "but i am the 'king' of late braking lol, grow some balls man!" You mean you actually brake for corners
-
Unstable on the brakes! that sounds a little worrying, i think its the heavy well planted feeling that i like about the Supra, i had a 350BHP 200SX S14 before that, and i always found that to be a little on the twitchy/unstable side, i can get the Supra around corners far quicker than i could the S14 for that very reason.
-
Can anyone tell me what the boot dimensions are, i realise that the first part from the divider to the brace are not very big, but what is the available space to the rear of it? and also how deep is it from floor to the hatch, maybe a strange question but is there enough room to get a cat carrier in? the plastic flight case type? We have and used to breed Siamese cats, and should a trip to the vets be needed will the Carrier go in the hatch space or is it the passenger seat/wifes lap.
-
Unfortunately the whole new Supra thing is on and off more than the pros proverbial knickers, and so is the engine choice, N/A, hybrid, supercharged etc, and i think the projected price is over the 100K mark The NSX look more realistic.
-
Oh yeah! I would have one as well as the Supra but not instead of, if you can tell me the winning lottery numbers for next week
-
How many times have we heard that before Good luck with the sale/PX anyway mate LOL! How many times have i said that before Thanks for all the good wishes guys and i realise that the look is a bit marmite, so it may take a little longer to find a buyer to fall for it, but i wouldn't return it to std, too much work gone into it.
