  1. Could be as simple as a heat shield picking up on a resonance frequency/vibration at that RPM.
  2. Oversize rear toe, eccentric (offset) washers from? anyone know.
  3. Drop Paul=Polo a PM i think he is registered on here, but if not try him on the SXOC or driftworks, i think he still has the engine that he removed from his Skyline 350GT drift project (same engine as 350Z).
  4. Thanks mate, but i don't think 2 way will do what i want, i need to split front and rear along with sub, so i can balance them all out.
  5. Anyone have one lying around that they don't use, and will sell cheap?
  6. While in theory i agree with what your saying IMO even though the Lambda feedback may slightly adjust, should that bank see better airflow to one or more cylinders from the fitting of the plenum spacer, because the adjustment is accomplished by changing the injector duty cycle/duration across all three cylinders, it actually negates the benefit, as although the front cylinder is seeing more airflow, the other two are almost the same, and so the resulting adjustment is averaged out, just like before the addition of a spacer etc, so IMO the difference will be negligible, and imperceivable. I know that through Osiris remapping software its possible to richen or weaken individual cylinders, so i would suspect that Nissan have already tweaked the front two cylinders to take the this reduced airflow into account, so adding a spacer will compound this.
  7. Always makes me chuckle when all the attributes of plenum spacers and "thermal" gaskets etc are discussed, it seems to me that there are an awful Lot of misconception's about, the first being that as std the front two cylinders run weak, utter tosh! think about it, the std map is optimised to give a stoic AFR throughout the closed loop areas, and a safe (in fact too rich) AFR in open loop, so in fact if the std plenum is actually causing reduced airflow to the front cylinders, the actual result will be a slightly richer mix to these cylinders. The next being iso thermal gaskets, now admittedly if you fit one that actually works, the best place to fit it would be the plenum base gasket, and not the spacer gasket or throttle body, as this situation would stand the most chance of preventing direct heat transfer, however because of the plenum's design and situation, its still going to receive more than its fair share of radiated heat from the heads etc, And as for using copper gaskets, this will actually transfer heat faster and more efficiently. Finally there is the throttle body water feed disable, the fact that there is little evidence that backs up its current use on later ECU controlled motors, other than a possible emission's criteria, it was developed initially as an aid to starting and running on carburettor engines, and helped prevent icing, but as the modern throttle body sees no fuel, its very unlikely to ice up at cold start, also if you think about it, the water is cold at start up! Getting plenty of cold air into the engine is the key to getting more power out, but unless you can also achieve more fuel to match, its a complete waste of time, and given the 350Zs ability to adjust its closed loop fueling, the use of any airflow enhancing devices is wasted without a remap to account for these improvements.
  8. You nearly lost that Sai, but i prefer my polished bling
  9. I'm with Jez on this, i disabled mine, found the std setup rather intrusive, but i am used to driving more powerful RWD cars, so its second nature, i guess if you are new too RWD cars with a bit of go, then its a good safety feature.
  10. Why an AEM AFR Uego controller as well as the LM-2 Alex?
  11. out of interest mate, what did you pay for you lm-2 setup? I got mine from this guy, who i think based in Poland, but i think he now has outlets in the UK. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INNOVATE-LM-2-DUA ... 1c1478bc66
  12. I use an Innovate LM-2 dual wideband on my 350GT, reasonable price and it also has data-logging for five other channels, so you can monitor things like AFM voltage, throttle position etc, the LM-2 has received a little bad press, but i think that was the early production runs, mine has been fine so far, use to use the LM-1 setup on my Supra for years with no problems. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lm2.php
  13. I give up, suffice to say just because it can, does not mean its good
  14. LOL!Yeah i know! and why do you think that is, just like a lot of manufactures, they provide these nice tips on driving their cars, so as soon as the warranty runs out you will be lining their pockets with what you spend on repairs, or even new cars, they don't want their cars to last past the mechanical warranty period They want to sell you new cars, not keep the old. Or, like I do in my job we test the transmission and engine for the upper and lower limits of proper operation and write them in the manual. The testing that goes into an engine and gearbox combination is huge, making up a figure at the end of it seems unlikely. I haven't suggested that Nissan made up their figures, just that i strongly suspect there are hidden agendas, all other intellectual reasons aside,I still dispute that driving at 30MPH in 6th gear is good practise.

  16. Are any of you aware that an engine is under more strain at lower RPMs and particularly at idle, the whole valve train is under the most strain at idle and low RPM. If you then add the drive train into the equation, and then add in the inertial shock resulting from continually making small throttle adjustments to a 1.5 ton brick thats attached, not to mention the effects on fuel consumption. Gear ratios are there for a reason, to make the best use of the engine power to match the road speed required. Seriously, my last comment stands, i would expect this from the Americans, as they all drive autos on straight roads, and wouldn't understand a gear ratio even if battered with it you should all buy diesels, if you want to drive around at low RPM and high gear.
  17. Thought i had inadvertently gone over to the US forum when i read this, 30 in 6th all i can say is you lot have the mechanical sympathy of a fork lift truck driver, and you should all be driving diesels.
  18. Any sprayer worth his salt, will always nib and machine polish, after a spray job, IE go over the whole car with 1500 or 2000 grade wet n dry abrasive paper, and then something like G6 or similar for a final polish. If they just use G3 steer well clear, as that just a bodge! I have machine polished my 350GT twice now, with a very fine compound, looking at the paint thickness it may just take a quick go with 2000 before polishing, but i wouldn't want to push it really.
  19. The seats are now sold, but frames still available, see other ad. Please close this thread, thanks.
  20. I have now sold the seats separately, so i now have these for sale, purpose built for the Skyline 350GT, but i am reliably informed that the 350Z shears the same mounts,(perhaps someone can confirm?) they allow the seats to sit at just the right hight, as its hard to achieve this with the 350 as they have a staggered fitting for the drivers seat. built sup-frames to fit the 350GT, they will take most aftermarket seats, including Recaro, Bride, Cobra etc etc, they include adjustable sliders, however i may sell these separately, looking for £130 for the pair.
  21. Seats provisionally sold! sub frames and sliders still available.
  22. Thanks Jim, sure i cant tempt you? look great in a black Skyline 350GT
