    New engine

Quite alot no doubt depending on what has gone. It is very labour intensive... If rebuilding then better going for aftermarket forged parts which will still cost a couple of grand
  2. Hi guys there seems to be a massive discussion about oil temps and it seems there could be a potential opportunity for a group buy. Could any of the traders please gather prices, for the a thermostatic sandwich plate kit with all additional ancillaries required. Cheers
  3. I think the zunsport grille is horrible I am going to sound biased, but I agree, they do look 'tacked on' - prefer the one I have which you need to attach to the inside of the bumper - just looks a lot cleaner... I'm not a fan of the zunsport either to be honest. Something doesn't look just right. Each to their own though. If the owner likes it then that all that matters
  4. That's alot lol. That was the reason I looked at the hr as I was thinking about twin turboing one
  5. the revup has exhaust cam control.... I know all about your engine change as i was about to do the same and it simply wasnt worth the hassle. I spoke to alex about it before and i've decided to steer clear of it. If the op does go hr, it means, new loom, new gearbox, new clutch, new manifold, new cats, new bonnet, new strut brace amongst lots of other things. Best bet is to get an non revup block and do a straight swap. How much did you pay to get your engine change fully complete out of interest?
  6. the looms are different, you may be able to change it if you get it with the loom. HR is a no no though, too much difference
  7. I would rather not say tbh bud if thats ok. But basically it involves me getting a hunch back and serious neck ache sitting at a pc all day no hassles
  8. you can buy brand new for not much more. I actually paid less than that new but that was before vat increases etc
  9. Yeah it's quite alot of torque to be loading so low down! The nos can modulate from, say, 80%-100% throttle so it can boost variable amounts in relation to how hard I'm on the throttle. Can wait to get her upto 100's! Keyser, I'm coming for you mate hahaha!
  10. Lol defo. The fact is the likes of Lewis Hamilton could probs destroy me driving a 370z on track with him driving a buggered 278 model. There's just no point in comparing cars. I admit I get drawn in but these threads are a waste of time lol
  11. But Georges car with all mods and a remap would be another question altogether (370z gaining much more from a map than the 350z) No doubt but then you've got to take into account the driver also
  12. +1 from what drove of the 276 it seemed to run out of revs before it should tbh whereas my 296 revs and revs. The interior is the thing that actually swayed me to buy the 296, and of course the nismo kit. If there was an hr nismo the same I would have bought it tbh. Thats where you need the cars side by side though. Yes the Revup engine revs higher, but it has less torque lower down. Whether or not this actually makes a difference on a track I have no idea. An educated guess would say the Revup would have it on the track and standard DE would have it on normal driving (ie when not at 9/10ths). Its all perception though until you get them next to each other. Going between one and the other I've never noticed any massive difference where you say "wow" thats a lot quicker. The only one thats done that to me was going from an original VQ35DE to the VQ37VHR. Talking only about stock engines, no NOS, FI etc. My car with remap was evenly matched with George's 370z on track. There's a vid on YouTube. You could see the extra torque come into play coming out a corner but once my car was moving the 370z couldn't get away on the straights at all. What everyone's got to remember is that everybody drives different. All these cars are good cars. The minimal differences are not to be worried about. This has turned into a willy swinging topic. Just buy a car and drive it and have fun. You can only **** with the **** you've got

  14. Yeah I think that's what I'll be going for, for next year. Winter project I think.
  15. Lol nah I won't be touching it lol. Dan @ AME's the man so if there is any issues it will be going back down to him. Very happy so far with it! It will be running in from 3000rpm progressively so as not to snap the wrists off you when she hits the boost
  16. Just been informed this power was on 50hp jets!!!!!! This was the first run with the nos and is getting further tuning done Can't wait to see what she does on the 100 jets lol
  17. Over analysis leads to paralysis... Just do it although Amg's are much cheaper to run Test drove a c63 amg. Forgot to add that to the list
