  1. You see that in your rear view mirror, you find yourself in one of those rare occasions you'd feel obligated to pull the f**k outa the outside lane and bow down as it sails past... Doesn't happen often to a zedder except last week when a Gallardo Spyder just embarrased me over in Cheshire
  2. http://www.netcarshow.com/wald/2008-nissan_gt-r/ Wow

    My Zed

    V. Nice - No.1 on the shopping list is autosol for those exhaust tips tho!
  4. Sorry, I'm gonna be totally 'out there' and say Police Aviators! athankyou Oakleys good for biking & boarding, with fire iridium lenses to make you look like something from the underworld
  5. Nice, yet to see one in the flesh myself, but the pics i've seen look good! What's up with the CD player - is it the left speaker cut-out? If so, let us know how you get on and what they quote you - mine does it, and I've pondered over going to Nissan and making enquiries but not done so yet... in the meantime, a swift firm tap to the passenger side knee pad does the trick!
  6. stumped! Not something I've come accross before, I was running (probably the same) alpine 800W monoblock in the golf, never had shocks from the bodywork. Mine was attached to the bottom of the spare wheel compartment, scratched away the paint for best contact... Not sure what to suggest, other than one of those really g4y anti-static things hanging down from the car
  7. I WAS going to keep stock, but as a minor mod I quite fancy the hubcentric 20mm spacers, think it'll just make it look a little more aggressive. I need a little advice though guys please - what do you think to these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20MM-NISSAN-HUBCE ... 7C294%3A50 Don't think I'll be making any hasty purchases, going away soon so money's tight, but just trying to get a good idea of the best option & what price i'll be looking at. Cheers
  8. You're kidding!? That's what mine was!! Wasn't sure at first, but loved it against the nice hyper silver alloys and a mesh grille, not a common colour and it stood out. Thanks for the 'much love' on the Golf; it will be sadly missed.... but I s'pose i can make do with the zed Love the Van too - I absolutley WILL own a VeeDub van one day, preferably a splitty but hey, a dub van's a dub van!
  9. Loving this thread! OK so I've not racked quite as many road years as some on here (ahem) but 6 years on and here I am 1st 1994 1.2 Corsa, of course (it the car for 17yr olds at the time!). Nice Smith wheels, colour coded bumpers, full black SRI interior and a nice ICE install - more than enough for a car worth no more than £1000 i say. No pics, and i suspect it'll have been scrapped by now... Next up, my beloved Golf which I kept for 4 years before finally letting go just 4 weeks ago! GTTDI remapped by MSD in Blackpool, Carbonio CAI, 19's, lowered 40mm and rock hard (shook yer fillings out to be fair). Oh and not to mention more ICE... And my Zed, first pics having just cleaned it, and a dab of autosol on the tips staying stock for the moment, aside the billet grille... Nice Arse!!
  10. Sorry to hear your troubles bud, it's a tough one though. I've had a few installs done, the last an Avic-X1R in the Golf, installed by RAM audio. Whenever I take anything to them for fitting, that I've sourced elsewhere, they always make a point of saying if they haven't supplied the unit themselves, then they are not bound by any waranty and are not responsible for any problems which may occur - any extra work would be chargeable. I think it's pretty common practice to be fair. Though to add insult to injury, that response letter from Simon Wallis is very bloody patronising IMO. Would've got my back up a bit but i'm a fiery little sod lol
  11. It's just dawned on me; God I must be boring - I get in from the pub and set a personal challenge to FINISH THIS!!!
  12. Haha yup put on a happy face! The positives far outweighs it, from the non-zedders too hehe. Last night pulled up to some traffic lights next to a load young girls in a fiesta... next thing they're beeping the horn and hurling god knows what my way, in appreciation (I think!!). In retrospect, i think they quite liked the car too
  13. Just past a sunset coupe in Wakefield (don't see many up here tbh!), gave the guy a friendly nod and he looked at me in disgust! Ignorant
  14. Sounds fantastic, definitely be up for it in September (i can't make 25th July either).
  15. ... in Wakefield at 5.30 last night, anyone?
  16. Hi mate, welcome from a fellow fairly-newbie. Re your comments on standard or GT pack, from everything i read and paid attention to when buying mine, in terms of maintaining good residuals it makes sense to go for the UK car, with GT spec & sat nav etc. if you can - an ever-desirable yet with relativley limited availability (in comparison to your average car on UK roads), it is what you could call a 'modern classic' - having top spec increases saleability when you eventually come to part with your zed. Oh, and for scoping out the imports, yep the square number plate, no foglight / bolt-on foglight required to make it UK road legal, and another one is 'FairladyZ' plastered on the back in place of the 350Z badge.
  17. That is good I'm paying that and I've got 8 years no claims! Im paying more than that with 5 yrs NCB, and it parked on the drive. But i am 23 altho ive got the old man as a named driver to stop it being thousands! Yeah precisely that - stuck both parents on the policy as 2nd & 3rd drivers, brought it down by about £300! Working the system baby lol Oh and I got 6 years ncb too
  18. Great advice, thanks v. much. I noticed a couple of notes in the 'For Sale, it actually, so if need be i'll pursue them. Cheers Nick
  19. Hummmmm tempting.... let's see! Ideally i'm going to keep it as stock as poss, but for the sake of a lifetime gurantee SS exhaust it's worth considering... Would you advise of any that are near as dammit stock in appearance & sound? all that said, having only just bought it I am SKINT! lol
  20. Hehe thanks all - to be fair, I'm still enjoying it, it's just bloody LOUD!! lol
  21. Well, one week into being a Zed Newbie, and i'm having the apparently quite common 'left speaker cut-out' problem, and now the exhaust has come away from the flange between the back box & centre pipe... hopefully it's weld-able!! Hey-ho, it will NOT spoil my love for the Zed! Couldn't be happier (well, a bit)
  22. I'm chuffed to bits with Admiral; I'm only 24 and park it on a street - they covered me for £700... OK I know initially it seems heavy, but given I'm yound I'd say that's not bad at all! I was paying £560 for a modded MKIV Golf GTI God love moneysupermarket.com
  23. Hi bud, you still got that std system for sale or has it gone now? May be interested...
