  1. As circled in the image below, I have a used fuel damper for sale. This was originally bought from ZMANALEX in a used condition solely for the purpose of diagnosing a knocking sound from the engine of my old car. This didn't cure the sound, which in the end turned out to be a flywheel issue! So, since I got this damper it has been used for about a day and then the old one put back. I bought it for £50 and they go for £150 new!! I will sell for £40 delivered. download/file.php?id=7070&t=1
  2. Still for sale guys... I'm struggling to afford petrol prices at the moment, it's due a service and there's a knocking to the front left suspension just developed. It seems work are withholding their annual management bonuses this year, which means I have zero chance of giving the car it's annual dose of TLC. As much as it pains me to; offers around £8,000??
  3. Well, less of a wad of cash...£250 would fuel my car for a month! My mechanic had the car up on a ramp, checked everything with a pry bar and wobbled the wheels to check for play...he didn't notice anything, so is it quite hard to notice any movement? I've read of people changing several parts before getting to the compression arm, if it was that obvious I guess you'd notice straight away?? Cheers for the replies!
  4. Ok, I have the dreaded rattle/clatter from the passenger side front wheel area. I've taken the car to my friend's garage and had a good poke about underneath, which brought up nothing...so I've had a search on here and would like to run this by anyone who has had a similar problem. The symptoms are; - Rattling/clunking sound, sounds as if something is 'loose' and about to fall off. A very repetetive sound when it occurs ie. a constant rattle until you're onto a smooth surface... not just one or two clunks. - Most audible at speeds below 30mph, and on rough roads. - Fades away or completely disappears under braking. - Disappears under left foot braking. - Easily overlooked or completely undetectable when the car is on a ramp and the suspension manipulated with a pry bar. My money is on the ball joint end of the banana bar/compression rod...but I'd like some second opinions before parting with a big wad of cash for a new one!!
  5. I don't notice a difference in power, but on the occasion when I was stuck for Super and had to fill up with a small amount of unleaded I noticed it impacted on MPG quite significantly. I can get 28-29mpg on my average week's commute on super, but the regular unleaded got me down around 22-23mpg...I wasn't driving any differently. 25% more mpg for what is often only 10% more cost?? The figures speak for themselves, hence why I always fill up with super!
  6. Get a proper plug socket...they have a little rubber grommet in the end which grips the plug until it's tightened in place. I had loads kicking about from all the cheap tool sets I used to get through.
  7. I put mine up on Autotrader for a month...it cost me £42 and all I had was emails of this nature. I thought about wasting their time and leading them on a bit for a laugh, but I couldn't even be bothered to reply telling them to stop trying to scam people . Best to just ignore them altogether and wait for a genuine buyer to get in touch.
  8. I wonder how much he got for it if it was p/x... I'm getting no interest in mine and might have to consider doing the same!!
  9. Quick bump as my Autotrader ad has nearly expired. I've had zero interest..plenty of emails from potential scammers wanting to pay me by Paypal and send their 'collection company' over to collect the car and take abroad!! How anyone falls for these things is beyond me!! I'm guessing that Zeds just aren't selling well at the moment?? I'll leave the price as is, but will say that offers over £9k will be taken into serious consideration...I have my eyes on a 320CD!!
  10. I did forget a pic!! Here's all the documentation I've got...service history, receipts, HPI certificate and more. Plus both keys, what I think is a master key and the key code tag. All presented in a nice lime green folder, because I am a tidy freak!! I've also put the Zed up on Autotrader; http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... 3377584501 As you can see I've dropped the price again to £10,299...open to offers!!
  11. Just working out my year's finances and will have to be very open to offers on the Zed, or I'll be struggling to eat!! I'm going to drop the price to £10,800...feel free to get in touch with offers, they will be taken into consideration!!
  12. Cheers for the kind words guys, hopefully I'll get more interest this time round!!
  13. The Zed is up for sale again, I managed to acquire a lodger which meant I could afford to keep running the car a little while longer and took it off the market… I'm now back to single occupancy and unfortunately something has to go to make things cheaper!! Firstly I’ll run through the basic details: The car is a UK GT model in Blade Silver. First date of registration is 06/12/2005…apart from a few ‘06’ plates which were registered before March ’06, this is one of the youngest Zeds you can get before falling into the higher tax bracket. Tax is £245/year, rather than paying almost double that for an 06+ model. This model has all the standard GT spec gadgets, with the exception of a factory sat nav. 18†Rays Forged Wheels Brembo Brakes. Heated driver & passenger seats. Electric driver & passenger seats. Air conditioning (Working very well). Cruise control. Bluetooth controls and cradle. (Bluetooth adapter is required to work). The car is taxed until 30/06/2011. The MOT runs out on 23/09/2011. Current mileage is just under 45,000miles. The car has full Nissan service history, with the exception of the last service. This was only a simple P1 service, so I took the car to a local trustworthy garage. Nissan P1 Service @ 9,137 Miles Nissan P2 Service @ 16,595 Miles Nissan P1 Service @ 24,863 Miles Nissan P3 Service @ 33,496 Miles P1 Service @ 41,151 Miles The car is virtually standard with the exception of the following: 20mm Eibach hubcentric spacers on the front. 25mm Eibach hubcentric spacers on the rear. Carbon vinyl wrapped rear strut brace cover. I have just had a brand new Exedy clutch and Fidanza lightweight flywheel fitted. Cost of parts and labour for this was in excess of £800. I have also not long ago replaced all the tyres with Falken FK452s. They’ve only seen a couple of thousand miles since they were fitted and still have 6-7mm tread all round. Spark plugs were changed 5 months ago with some Iridium Denso plugs from ZMANALEX. Brake pads were changed just before I took ownership of the car at the beginning of 2010. Ferodo pads were fitted. The Zed has been very well cared for, always run on super unleaded and is parked tucked under a car port every night. The car drives so nicely, with no cabin rattles and no suspension noises. Pulls very well in all gears, the torque in 3rd and 4th is addictive! The car is up for sale now at £10,299 ONO... Please contact me with any questions you may have either post on here, send a PM or: Email: martinwraight@hotmail.com Mobile: 07531 610892 (Please leave a message if you can’t reach me). I will require proof of insurance before I let you behind the wheel on a test drive, and FYI I am located in Bingham, Nottinghamshire. Now for some pics: Rays are in very good condition: Brand new Falken 452s all round: Long tax…until end of June 2011: Clean boot with carpet covered MDF divider: Carbon vinyl wrapped strut brace cover: Thanks for looking
  14. Gotta appeal to the masses!! I have a young lady coming round to see the car for a second time at the weekend...bringing her dad with her this time, so hopefully that's a good sign!! Although the money will go towards paying off cards, I think a few hundred may disappear in the process and a shiny new exhaust appear on the Z!!
  15. 42k and the clutch is fine...but the flywheel's on the way out!! Just had a new clutch and lightweight fly arrive yesterday though, so all is good!!
  16. Probably due to the price of replacing a full set of 4 boots in one go, easy option is to take the cheaper alternative. Husky has the Vred's - sure he'll comment. I wanted the MPS but I was looking at £800 (good price) for a set of 4. Whereas, the Falkens cost half that price. To be honest I think I may try the Vred's unless I feel flush and go for the MPS? I think I'll stretch to Vreds next time...I'm not as impressed with the Falkens as I thought I would be from people's reviews of them at the time.
  17. Original RE40s are awful in cold weather...the compound is far too hard at low temperatures. I replaced mine this summer with Falken 452s which were getting good reviews from OC members at the time. Now it seems people are struggling with them too, I'll see how I get on this year!! Never seem to hear any complaints from people running MPSs or Vredsteins!!
  18. Hi guys, just thought I'd post this up in case anyone is looking for a cheap runabout for the winter months. I'll save rewriting the description and post up the eBay link (I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules with that). CLICKY The car is on eBay for £2k, but I'll do a very good deal for any forum members interested. Thanks, Martin.
  19. Woah!! I still think that didn't 'look' fast though...it was far too smooth and controlled
  20. White...for two reasons; I've never seen it done before and I think from a distance/moving it'll look much more subtle.
  21. Out of interest which clutch and fly did you get?? I'm due to get mine sorted soon as my DMF is making some noises suggesting it's not as healthy as it should be.
  22. M3... As said it'd need to be an RS4, or an S5 would have swayed my vote!!
