Just thought I'd provide an update on my situation ... The car was still giving my problems starting this morning when I left for work and the CEL, ESP Off and Skid Warning lights were still on ... Drove the car to work which is about an hour away and left it parked all day ... Then after work I went to start it and it started first time ... all the lights were as normal apart from the CEL light which was still on ... so drove the car to Nissan to get some coolant and when I got back it started first time again ... I haven't topped up the coolant yet, but it kind of suggests that it could be related to the battery ... any thoughts?

I've not been able to check the coolant today as I've been at work ... but will have a look tonight when I get home ... The lights are a bit misleading because if I leave the car for a few hours the lights goes off ... it's only from having to crank it for ages that the lights re-appear ... I will call a few garages this afternoon also to see if they've got the necessary equipment to read the error codes etc... Thanks for the help ... I'll keep you updated ..

Shire, Can you let me know how you get on .... I'm trying to find someone close with a diagnostic tool but have had no luck so far ....

Ian, The Digimoto software looks pretty good from reading their site ... What version do you have and which interface cable do you use .. ELM or mOByDic? Thanks

I don't know ... maybe cranking it for too long has tripped out the CEL lights ... Just a thought but what about the spark plugs? Could dodgy plugs cause an issue such as this?

I'm having the exact same problem. I was driving it around fine last night and then this morning it wasn't turning over straight away ... It takes some time and effort before it finally gets going ... I've never had any problems with it starting up in the past ... I also have the CEL, ESP Off and Skid warning lights on ... I tried an Ecu reset which cleared the lights but it still takes ages to start up and then the lights return ...

I read on another site that it could be related to the key so I just tried again using the master key and no difference .... It does eventually start up after cranking for a few minutes ... I just don't want to be left stranded somewhere due to it not starting at all ...

Hmmm ... I don't know. I've got a jump start kit and tried with that attached and it still doesn't start up first time ... What's the best way to test the battery?

I had the exact same problem I just removed the dodgy nissan rubber bits today and replaced both sides with Rawl plugs ... LoL

Hey, Just wanted to run this past you guys incase you had any ideas ... I've had my Zed for 6 months now and haven't had any issues with it so far ... until this morning ... First thing this morning I went to start it up and it didn't start in the normal amount of time it usually takes ... I had to keep trying for about 5 minutes before it actually started up fine ... So I took it for a fairly long drive to charge up the battery in case it was weak ... I then left it parked up for about an hour and tried it again ... same problem ... it still started up after about 5 minutes of trying but this time the Check Engine, ESP Off and Skid lights were all on ... I tried the ECU reset from the guides section and that has cleared the lights but it is still taking a long time to start up ... Can anyone suggest anything ...

I have the same dilemna .... I want to add some more I.C.E to my Zed while retaining the sterring wheel controls ... Does anyone have any recommendations on Double Din Screens and wiring etc ... Thanks

Hey, Just wanted your opinions on good diagnostic software before I went out and purchased anything ... I already have the OBD II cable so was mainly just after the sofware that provides the most information for my 2004 Zed, and will let me reset any error codes that are displaying. I've heard that ProScan is pretty good ... has anyone had any experience with it?

CS, How much can they do the P3 service for? I'm not entirely sure what services my car has had in the past so thought I'd start with the P3 and then just rotate as normal ...

LoL ... by far one of the funniest threads i've read so far ... but I totaly understand the frustration when there are so many bad drivers out on the roads ... I feel I have to be extra careful even on short journeys incase some idiot goes into my Zed ... and then when I get to my destination I have to go through the whole parking knightmare ....

I have the same dilemna every time I come to park my Zed .... I'm not proud of it but if there are 2 spaces available then I do use up both ... or park in a way so no-one will want to use the adjacent space ... I always check my car everytime I come back to it ... and so far have been lucky ... My drivers door has got a few dings on it from careless people so I wouldn't be overly pi**ed off if a new one was to appear .. but my drivers door is mint!

Nice one buddy ... I have had mine for about 6 months now and it still makes me smile every time I go for a drive ... Infact I even look forward to my 20 mile commute on "A Roads" to work in the mornings ... LoL

Hey, I'm actually having the exact same problem ... I hadn't noticed it before but it's become more apparent since I've had my car back from the bodyshop ... I've had a quick look around under the arches and couldn't see any obvious areas it was catching on ... It'd be interesting to find out if you do find a cause/solution ...

Woo Hoo! I wasn't expecting to have the Zed back before the end of this week but got a call from ADR in Leicester to say the car was ready for collection ... I picked it up this afternoon and it looks PERFECT! They've done a really good job on the dent caused by the accident and also the front bumper. I was really impressed with the service and quality of work. They even valeted the car inside and out and sorted out a few other things like the squeaky door card etc ... I didn't get a chance to take any pictures today due to the downpour of rain but will try and get some before and after pics up on here tomorrow ... Anyway that's my weekend sorted now ... Full tank of petrol, box of 20 cigarettes and the longest drive ever! ... Can't wait!

Well I had another update from the garage doing the repair work today ... They're gonna sort out the drivers side and repair any damamge caused by the accident ... and even offered to sort out quite a deep scratch on my front bumper for an extra 50 quid ... I thought I might as well get it done as they have the car anyway and I'll still have the courtesy boat in the meanwhile .... So fingers crossed ... When it comes back in a week or so it'll be looking better than it has in a long time!

Can someone post a link to some Aero blades ... maybe from eBay or something as I'm intrigued now ... Thanks
