  1. Isn't there services where the A1 meets A14?? Would be a good meet point potentially. Still have a nice drive left in convoy then?

  3. Awesome post, one similar on VXROnline. I just love centistokes. Oil is a great thing
  4. I've had this one with an old XR2i. One of you pistons is sticking but only when the brake is up to full temperature. Which is well annoying cause with this car it had warped discs, we fitted a new set and it warped again. In the end I had to give the brakes a good thrashin and drop it staringht into a MOT RBT and voila found that one caliper was sticking slightly. Only when very hot In your case once the excess heat window is reached then the problem only gets even worse and worse. Whichever corner of the car had the smoke you need a new caliper bud. It is further proved by your air build up in the system and giving you the dodgy pedal Such a school boy error from your dealer really.
  5. Why Thank you very much. I have a bit of a thing for Summer. So gutted that T:SCC has been cancelled now. Have to keep an eye out for what she's gonna be in next...........
  6. Wifey's usually reads 15 when very hot idling, once the revs up then just below 60 psi. I was worried about this to begin with but shared data cures curiosity
  7. It doesnt surprise me, the Z just has circuit racing pedigree with its design and dimensions. It's no back B road fighter but is well suited to the big open stuff.
  8. Doing the rounds on VXRonline this one, well funny and brilliant
  9. +20 bhp on NA engines but what does it do to torque??
  10. I know a friend who walked away from a Mercury Z in favour of a Black one, now on hindsight he wishes he had gone the other way. Especially now I've tought him a bit about Black paint. It didn't help when he parked near to the Astra, which still shows what Black paint should look like. Such a hard colour to look after but well worth it.
  11. Sally brought the 1st one we viewed in London. It ticked all the right boxes from the off tbh. It was a few more miles on clock than others, needed a dam good detail and the bumper had lots of stone chips but on gut instinct and face value we went for it. Never looked back since, Exactly what we wanted to pay too. We both love it to bits, and it's not taking away our smiles in any way shape or form yet. Good car
  12. Never tried the famous Zaino. Always been a CG's man. Will have to try that at some point. My last steps during full on detail would be Jetseal 109 Sealent followed by 50/50 Concours Paste wax.
  13. Thanks guys, When the clutch is down there is no noise at all! When it's up there is just a faint wine from her gearbox. I felt in the first place it's down to the Z having a strengthy gearbox and bearing noise being a bit more noticeable. On the road and under load, perfect.
  14. These are the standard issue wheel 18" snowflakes. Is this what he's got??
  15. Since the wife brought her Zed a few weeks back I have noticed a Release bearing/Gearbox noise when running in neutral with the clutch up. In my heart of hearts I feel that there is no problem but it's a more elevated noise than I've been used to with all of our previous FWD transaxle cars. Clutch operating is totally fine and the noise doesn't really change with different temperatures either I have no reference other than to see how much noise is emitted from you guys and girls Zeds when idling in neutral. Just searching piece of mind really or whether to get it looked at as it's under warranty. Unfortunately I am one of these people who wants his&her car to spend as little time as possible in a dealer. Hope you can help
  16. Looking great in Arden there. I must admit not being able to steer with the back is a henderence at times but I'll confess that I'm NO drifter. Feel safe with good old VXR understeer
  17. I didn't know she was driving mine Just kidding Down to what floats our boats bud being honest. The Zed is just too heavy compared to mine. I luv having the back road nippiness as oppossed to the GT cruise of the Z
  18. Couple of nice details there Envy
  19. Yeah, Bentwaters mate. Unfortunately the Sun went in for the Zed's picture run. Sally put a much better one on a couple of days back. I assure you the Blue is a lot richer than it looks there.
  20. Your bound to find some of vxrmarc's awesome work in there
  21. That car looks very familiar Had some 3m and Menzerna too I reckon.
  22. Ok, I'll put the wifes on 1st haha It scrubbed up really well after 12 hour detail over Easter weekend Heres a couple of mine after detail, Btw, I wouldn't mind having Summer Glau as my wife, so No it's not Wifey
  23. Well lets say I'm more easily pleased than the wife. I've loved the Astra VXR from the day it came out mate, and I wouldn't want to swap it. It's just everything I want to work with in a car. Sal loves my car but not like she loves the Zed and its vice versa from my side. I'm really glad she got one of these. There similarly matched cars on paper but have very different ways of doing the same job.
