  1. Sounds good. I'm not far at all from you-I'd take any excuse to head out to Amersham. some great roads out there (I went to school there). This is easily THE best owners forum I have used. Absolutely no attitude unlike most other forums.
  2. Hey guys Well after lots of hunting I am hopefully picking up my Z next Friday. 2005 GM with GT pack, Rays and satnav. I drive a Clio 182 Cup at the moment so to say I'm looking forward to playing with the V6 is an understatement. I've already got a shopping list including 20mm wheel spacers, stubby ariel, and LED rear lights. I'm guessing all can be bought on here? I will also be getting the wheels refurbed as they have bubbling and some light curbing. I'm trying to think of what colour will look good, other than the standard silver. It seems a shame to spend money getting them to look like new and not to take the opportunity to be a little creative. Has anyone on here got theirs done in matt or satin black? Only problem I can see is that because the spokes stop short of the rims they may look a little small?
  3. Well it's proving hard to find any to look at, let alone buy! Anyone else selling soon?
  4. predictable but mildly amusing i'm looking at around 14k so will probably be going for a car with 30-40k miles. i laughed at the dealer's comment on that ad about owning a GTR! not exactly the same as a Z...
  5. Hey all Well I've been hanging around on here for some time doing research, and I'm finally in a position to buy a Z! I'll keep it brief... I'm after a 2006 GT in Gun Metal with black leather. I'm not interested in any other combos! I'll consider any mileage as long as there's a full service history and it's been owned by an enthusiast. If you are selling in the near future, or know someone that is, I'd appreciate it if you could drop me a PM. I'm aware it may take a long time to find the perfect car, but it is out there somewhere... Cheers Rich PS Great forum BTW-the best I have used. And please don't fill the thread up with posts telling me to buy an Azure!!
  6. pretty sure most of the guys in the US run +20. Rotas are available in a wider choice of offsets there and 20 seems to be considered the best

    Sexy Rexy

I agree the Fd is one of the best looking cars of recent years. Here is my 94 R2, before someone decided thay wanted it more than me... 370bhp and light weight.
  8. I have been thinking the same thing-surely there will be 350 owners who have ordered a 370 so will be looking to sell as they come online. Hopefully more cars on the market will push prices down (although obviously this is not good if you already own a 350...). I'm also guessing that as the 06 model 350 is approaching 3 years old, some owners will be looking to sell as the warranty runs out. I may hang on for one of those cars!
  9. I definately want to buy from an owner on here. I just thought the dealer would be the best place for a drive. The trouble is most of the Nissan dealers near me don't deal with used cars. I like the sound of 2 hours alone with a car! Where was that?
  10. Having decided that I definately want a Z, I thought I should arrange a test drive to confirm my decision. I phoned my local dealer who sells used cars - Mill Hill, to arrange one. Well they couldn't have been any more unhelpful! First they said someone would call me back. They never did, so I called again. Then they said they would rather 'match' me to a specific car and then let me drive it with a view to buying it, and that if I hadn't seen one I definately wanted then it wasn't worth organising. They said someone would call me back. Guess what? They didn't! It seems completely ridiculous. I can't test drive one at the dealer unless I definately want it, but how do I know I want it, or even a Z at all if I've never driven one!? Useless. I guess I may have more luck with non-Nissan dealers who have Zs in stock, but it should be the other way round...
  11. i know a guy called Stephano who works in a garage behind the car wash next to Bushey station. Funny Italian and his English isn't great but he has done some good bodywork repairs for members of my family.

  14. Hey all, I am finding this detailing forum really interesting, being pretty anal about keeping my car clean! One thing I haven't been able to find is info on acidic wheel cleaners. I have always used Wonder Wheels in the past after it got good reviews in a number of tests. I have only tried it on painted/laquered and powdercoated wheels, but it has always done the job really well. I never leave it on for more than 60 secs but use several applications if the wheel needs it. I have never noticed any bad effects. I have noticed that most detailers on here use non-acidic cleaners which are obviously kinder to wheels but are they as effective? Any info would be much appreciated.
  15. He ^^^ must be really bored...
  16. i know what i'm dreaming about tonight...
  17. As far as i know he just does normal bodywork. I don't think he normally does body kits etc. It may be worth asking him though. I'm afraid I don't know of anyone else in the area-sorry.
  18. Thanks-that's really helpful. So why do you need a gauge as well? I thought you just set the wrench to the required value and tightened until it 'broke'? Have found these with a quick search: http://www.pvrdirect.co.uk/productinfo. ... EN1292AGEP http://www.teng.co.uk/product-details.asp?prod_id=1460 http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Torque-Wre ... tegory=205 What do you think? Should also mention it's not for putting engines back together. I just think I should have one for putting wheels back on, assembling brake callipers etc.
  19. Yep-very near Watford. He's excellent at repairs. My dad used him a couple of times to repair panel damage on my mum's car. Someone backed into her door and left a nasty scrape and dent. He left it looking brand new-you cannot tell there was ever any damage. His name is Stephano (he's very Italian and his English isn't great!) and his number is 07733 303531. I know he is moving workshops at the moment and won't be set up until next week. I'd give him a call then and find out exactly where he is.
  20. I know a guy in Bushey. Anywhere near you?
