  1. Got mine booked in for next week so as soon as it's done I'll get some pics up!
  2. I boughtn a Peugot one for £1.50 on eBay but it's a bit big. It has 6 clips rather than 4. I take it I bought the wrong model!?
  3. I spoke to Japex in Kings Langley about this yesterday. Certainly the new kit will stop it happening again, but at £400 it is a big outlay. Japex said they have regreased a few Zs with better quality grease, and as yet none have come back with problems. The deal breaker is that they charge 1.5hrs labour or there abouts-so about £75 a side. I'm booking mine in soon as I only have one side clicking.
  4. wheel spacers, then ali vent trims, stubby, Z badges and tonneau cover. Popcharger on its way!
  5. Thanks for that-I'm just up the road and didn't know they existed!

    05 or 06?

I was set on a 06, but looked at a few that were in very poor condition. Eventually found a 05 with 30k miles in near mint condition. Couldn't be happier!
  8. My parents live in Pinner. Often there in the Z. GM 05 plate. I'll have to look out for you!
  9. Thanks, but it would probably cheaper to buy some new tyres Even though the tyres are directional, do you think it would be worth swopping the fronts over for a few miles just to see if the noise changes or disappears?
  10. Following on from my thread here: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=26089 I am having a nightmare trying to solve a noise problem. I really don't think it can be a bearing, especially after 30k miles. It is much more likely to be the tyres, even though they have plenty of tread and appear to be evenly worn. So...to be 100% sure the only way to check is to fit another set of wheels to the front of the car and see if the noise goes. If it does, it's the tyres, if it doesn't, it's something on he car itself. I'm therefore wondering if there is anyone with a Z who lives reasonably near me and has a spare set of 18" wheels in their garage. If they were willing to let me, I could come over and swop the front right, go for a quick drive, and hey presto I will have an answer. Sound like a plan!? BTW I live near J20 of the M25.
  11. you're just jealous because I can get away with washing my car once a year instead of once a day
  12. Few pics of the beast. Stubby to come, plus silver bulbs and LED rears.
  13. Well this continues to confuse me. Took the car to Kiplings this morning, and ended up giving 2 different mechanics a ride to try and find out what the noise is. They agreed it seems to be coming from the front right wheel, so removed it, checked the tyre wear and tread depth across the width, and the balancing, which were all fine. They looked over the suspension strut etc and everyhting seemed in order. The only other thing they could think of is a knackered wheel bearing but as they said that should be audiable at all speeds, getting worse as the car speeds up. This starts at about 45mph and then suddenly disappears above 80mph. Has anyone else had anything like this? Could it be a wheel bearing, and if so, are they easy to change? I'd rather do it myself than pay a garage mega bucks to do it.
  14. Yep-AG clogging up the sensors. Cheers
  15. just fitted mine and they look . Spent quite a long time shaping them so they fitted the dash exactly and then heated the car up in the sun for a bit. They stuck down perfectly and should hopefully stay that way.
  16. BTW are the rears exactly the same fit?
  17. i bought some cheap ones for my last car off ebay and they were rubbish-really dim. Better to spend a bit more for good quality.
  18. Ahh sounds like it could be that. Had the AG out this morning! Cheers-I will check.
  19. Gave my Z a proper clean for the first time today (only had it a week!) and when I went to move it afterwards and selected reverse, the parking sensor tone came on permanently, even though there was nothing behind the car. I'm hoping it may just be water and will dry out. Has anyone else had this problem?
  20. Normally £105 for a pair so £210 all in. No worries-I'll be doing some car cleaning tomorrow so pop by if you like.
  21. Just seen you are in Herts too. I'm down near J20 of the M25. Pop round if you want to see what they look like
  22. If you do a search you will see they are one of the most popular mods. Just fitted them to mine-20mm all round and it looks like a different car. It looks SO much more planted and give the car a really aggressive stance. Money well spent and if you're patient you can normally pick up a set on here second hand for £160 ish.
