last night i got home and the neighbour told me my alarm has been goin off all day, so i checked it over and all is ok, 5 mins later it went off again, so disconnected battery overnight, this morning i went to work... to be attacked by a giant moth, approx 6mm long. so i destroyed it immediatly before it grew any bigger and unleashed hell on earth. my alarm this morning is ok and not a peep. are these interior sensors that sensitive? the only other thing i can think of is its giant wings were causing the car to rock with each flap.

spoiler almost completed, last layer of paint went on yesterday, so smooth as ive spent hours preping it and smoothing each layer, purchased my last can of clear lacquer, sprayed it on.....out came primer!!!!! WTF! so now ive removed most of it off the spoiler, but paintwork very patchy, so will have to rub it down again but not all the way back to primer, and respray and smooth and respray and smooth. THANKS HALFORDS. Took it back, and the manager said its because im doing it in cold weather, then he took the tin and said " oh, this is primer" so i said "look at the label" Turns out its labelled wrong, so he took it off me, and said he has to send it to halfords as evidence, he agreed to supply me with lacquer and colour spray free of charge, but im afraid it needs 3 cans to spray and make 100% again. complaint sent to halfords customer services. weird thing is i tested it before i sprayed it, and it was clear, then went over the spoiler with my first quick coat of lacquer and then after about 5 seconds it came out primer, and i know in colder conditions it can come out abit cloudy, but this was pure primer....gutted. But apart from that, im suprised out how well it WAS, and how smooth it WAS. at first i was unsure as i want it perfect, but ive had fun and have learnt alot by doing it myself, shame the last stage was messed up due to a wrong label, but will see what they say, but i expect my paint to be supplied again free of charge. Another weird thing is that the manager didnt seem shocked, like he has seen this, he also said "ill have to send this one to them otherwise they wont believe me over the phone" hmmmmm

he also has his mobile number in the ad, i wonder how many calls and texts he recieved saying people can see his little man

i hate automatic renewals, it should be call us if you want it not the other way around, at the end of the day you sign for 'x' amount of months, i had an issue with orange few years back, they sent me a renewal and i told them not to continue, but they did, 6 months later i got a letter sayin my debt has been passed onto a debt recovery agency, they refused to admit fault, in the end i had many companies like ofcom involved and it took a further 3 months to sort it, i thought that was the end of it untill i got another mortgage, my bad credit rating ment that i had to put up a bigger deposit, these companies are quick to take your money but when they make a mistake it takes forever to return it, and i find they make mistakes to often.

If no Airbag light Is on then it's not detected a fault, I would get the beam checked incase that's bent or damaged.

I've read guides which have helped me in a big way, first layer of colour just gone on, one thing my bodyshop guy has said is that I need a buffer, which I've got, but do I need to buff it after each colour layer, after the final colour layer or after the lacquer layer?

ouch, glad im a tech so it doesnt cost me much.

All cars I've worked the cooling fans switch on when the air con is switched on.

Bloody hell have you not fitted it yet I obviously looked at it when I first got it and did think it needed a bit of prep, more in the corners. The rest I thought would be ok smoothed and primed and smoothed again. Dont think it was too thin and the spoiler I actually fitted, although better quality out of the box, is no thicker. No not fitted it yet, ive got married and moved house so been very busy, I wasn't sure on the thickness, as I've never had an aftermarket spoiler, but if this is the norm then that's ok, I'm currently filling in small defects like the corners, and some of the primer is a bit rough, it's the filling and then smoothing those areas that take time, smoothing off the primer isn't hard, won't be long untill it's on.

Sorry if that came across abit abrupt chap, was not intentional. Im hot and bothered. lol No worries, I didn't take it the wrong way and appreciate the advise

Remap is best way, the Mondeo I had is a very basic diesel engine, so the probitz box I had was cheap and cheerful, but as you have a far more modern car then I wouldn't go for a cheaper box, may aswell be safe with a proven remap for your car.

No I'm not going to argue, I'm not an expert with bodywork, I'm just doing it for my own enjoyment and to learn, so I'm being guided as I'm doing it so appreciate the advise.

I have one, uses original spoiler, which I've just purchased from a member on here as I still want my original spoiler in good condition, The spoiler itself is ok, it needs alot of prep, which I'm currently doin, I'm just filling in the imperfections and smoothing the whole spoiler, it's also feels slightly weak, I'm not sure if other spoilers are thicker, but to me it feels thin. But I may add a layer of filler over the whole spoiler to strengthen, and smooth it again, but it needs lots of prep before spraying to make it perfect.

Hmmm - that's a strong recommendation, but these chips are considerably cheaper than the ones I posted about. I always reckon you only get what you pay for, and the low price of these would worry me a bit. well im not a pro bitz salesman lol, but i didnt expect to get the results i did, but i can understand why you would be worried, but it defo worked for me.

http://www.pro-bitz.com/eshop/ i had one of these on my 2.0 mondeo tdci. improved performance but i mainly used it for fuel as i was doin 100 miles a day, so going from stoke to derby every day i was averaging about 60 MPG, and a good day with granny driving i hit 70 MPG. i had a mate who recommended it after he had one on his bmw, and he was amazed by the reults.

I purchsed a poiler not so long ago, and the finish isnt 100%, so i have lots of spare time and room, and want to prep, spray and fit it myself. i know its not going to be easy, but im a technician so i find it easier to learn something like this, and being able to do it. ive just spoken to a body tech, about doing it, but he sounded hungover and didnt catch what he was saying. what i got so far is i need: bumper filler (plastic filler) hardener. i think he said mix 10% hardener with the filler and put it on. a tool to apply it. sandpaper, unsure of grades. primer obviously spray to match colour. and UV protected laquer. Thats all heard from him, also is there any guides anywhere? thanks, much appreciated.

If you opt for Saxo corsa sort of car, it would be more expensive to insure as there known to be a boy racer car. Ford ka are cheap and cheerful car, old shape, not much to go wrong on them. Wishbone bushes are common but easy enough to replace. Ford fusion r ok, diesels r known for injectors blowing passed the seals, but when I was at ford, we hardly had them coming in.

I'm looking at a job that is advertised, I'm currently a technician, and the job is assistant service manager. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, also my cv at the moment is ok if I'm applying for another tech job, but for this job it needs more. I need to get the point across that it's what I want to do, that despite my young age of 26, I'm more than capable of doing the job, also that I've not got any official experience in this job I have stepped up to carry out some of the duties required for this job. If there is any management sort of people on here, or if you know all about writing a cv, then please pm me with some pointers, and if possible look over my cv once I have done. I know, weird request, but it would be very much appreciated.

The bit where I said about being louder, was a joke, no need to take it seriously, and I wouldn't do that as that's just askin for trouble, personally I don't think it's the oldies as they have a son which is a little teenage fecker that needs more than a chat, so it's probably him. I would rather add insulation, then it's sorted, no being labelled a moaning git, no trouble with anyone, simple.

i would invite them for a drink, but there triple my age. i could be loud aswell, that sounds good.
