  1. If no Airbag light Is on then it's not detected a fault, I would get the beam checked incase that's bent or damaged.
  2. I've read guides which have helped me in a big way, first layer of colour just gone on, one thing my bodyshop guy has said is that I need a buffer, which I've got, but do I need to buff it after each colour layer, after the final colour layer or after the lacquer layer?

    *sigh*

ouch, glad im a tech so it doesnt cost me much.
  4. All cars I've worked the cooling fans switch on when the air con is switched on.
  5. Bloody hell have you not fitted it yet I obviously looked at it when I first got it and did think it needed a bit of prep, more in the corners. The rest I thought would be ok smoothed and primed and smoothed again. Dont think it was too thin and the spoiler I actually fitted, although better quality out of the box, is no thicker. No not fitted it yet, ive got married and moved house so been very busy, I wasn't sure on the thickness, as I've never had an aftermarket spoiler, but if this is the norm then that's ok, I'm currently filling in small defects like the corners, and some of the primer is a bit rough, it's the filling and then smoothing those areas that take time, smoothing off the primer isn't hard, won't be long untill it's on.
  6. Sorry if that came across abit abrupt chap, was not intentional. Im hot and bothered. lol No worries, I didn't take it the wrong way and appreciate the advise
  7. Remap is best way, the Mondeo I had is a very basic diesel engine, so the probitz box I had was cheap and cheerful, but as you have a far more modern car then I wouldn't go for a cheaper box, may aswell be safe with a proven remap for your car.
  8. No I'm not going to argue, I'm not an expert with bodywork, I'm just doing it for my own enjoyment and to learn, so I'm being guided as I'm doing it so appreciate the advise.
  9. I have one, uses original spoiler, which I've just purchased from a member on here as I still want my original spoiler in good condition, The spoiler itself is ok, it needs alot of prep, which I'm currently doin, I'm just filling in the imperfections and smoothing the whole spoiler, it's also feels slightly weak, I'm not sure if other spoilers are thicker, but to me it feels thin. But I may add a layer of filler over the whole spoiler to strengthen, and smooth it again, but it needs lots of prep before spraying to make it perfect.
  10. Hmmm - that's a strong recommendation, but these chips are considerably cheaper than the ones I posted about. I always reckon you only get what you pay for, and the low price of these would worry me a bit. well im not a pro bitz salesman lol, but i didnt expect to get the results i did, but i can understand why you would be worried, but it defo worked for me.
  11. http://www.pro-bitz.com/eshop/ i had one of these on my 2.0 mondeo tdci. improved performance but i mainly used it for fuel as i was doin 100 miles a day, so going from stoke to derby every day i was averaging about 60 MPG, and a good day with granny driving i hit 70 MPG. i had a mate who recommended it after he had one on his bmw, and he was amazed by the reults.
  12. swap for 350Z? instead of cash...how about a lot of respect? and maybe throw my wife in aswell? anyway, looks awesome, good luck with sale
  13. I purchsed a poiler not so long ago, and the finish isnt 100%, so i have lots of spare time and room, and want to prep, spray and fit it myself. i know its not going to be easy, but im a technician so i find it easier to learn something like this, and being able to do it. ive just spoken to a body tech, about doing it, but he sounded hungover and didnt catch what he was saying. what i got so far is i need: bumper filler (plastic filler) hardener. i think he said mix 10% hardener with the filler and put it on. a tool to apply it. sandpaper, unsure of grades. primer obviously spray to match colour. and UV protected laquer. Thats all heard from him, also is there any guides anywhere? thanks, much appreciated.
  14. To the above who have offered to help I will get in touch as soon as I can.... Toby can you pm me contact details and times you are available, and I will call you. Thanks.
  15. If you opt for Saxo corsa sort of car, it would be more expensive to insure as there known to be a boy racer car. Ford ka are cheap and cheerful car, old shape, not much to go wrong on them. Wishbone bushes are common but easy enough to replace. Ford fusion r ok, diesels r known for injectors blowing passed the seals, but when I was at ford, we hardly had them coming in.
  16. I'm looking at a job that is advertised, I'm currently a technician, and the job is assistant service manager. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, also my cv at the moment is ok if I'm applying for another tech job, but for this job it needs more. I need to get the point across that it's what I want to do, that despite my young age of 26, I'm more than capable of doing the job, also that I've not got any official experience in this job I have stepped up to carry out some of the duties required for this job. If there is any management sort of people on here, or if you know all about writing a cv, then please pm me with some pointers, and if possible look over my cv once I have done. I know, weird request, but it would be very much appreciated.
  17. The bit where I said about being louder, was a joke, no need to take it seriously, and I wouldn't do that as that's just askin for trouble, personally I don't think it's the oldies as they have a son which is a little teenage fecker that needs more than a chat, so it's probably him. I would rather add insulation, then it's sorted, no being labelled a moaning git, no trouble with anyone, simple.
  18. i would invite them for a drink, but there triple my age. i could be loud aswell, that sounds good.
  19. Ive just moved house, i live in a semi detatched house, the good thing is the the lounge/bedrooms are on the opposite side of the house, so the stairs run up along the joining wall. But the walls must be very thin. During the day, i done hear anything from them, and then from about 9 in the evening, there TV just seems louder and so is there mouths. I would go ask them politly to shut it, but ive bought this house, me and the wife have moved into a bigger house as were planning for the future, so i dont want to confront them as we dont want to fall out with the neighbours, also with a nice 350z sat on the drive, i dont want my baby being hurt. the house itself is ok condition, but we are redecorating every room, not just paint, but stripping wall paper, replastering and making this a proper home. so if were going to do anythin, now is the time. The stairway itself is 83cm wide, and goes up 8 steps, it then has a small landing before turning right and going up 4 steps at the same width, so without drawing pics the joining wall is the bottom hallway, the first part of the stairway, then the top landing area, the bathroom is also on the joining wall, aswell as the 3rd bedroom. My question is about sound insulation, there must be something out there that will do the job, and not reduce the space up the stairs. like i say though, we are replastering eventually, so if we have to strip back some plaster then i suppose we could do that. thanks for any help.
  20. this one was taken with my sony ericsson satio,a little blur from photshop, but thats it, the sun glare isnt added either, that happened as i pressed the button, didnt stand there for ages to make the perfect shot, it sort of just happened.
  21. Can the mod be done with a 3.5mm lead? If it can I can just buy a 3.5 lead and then splice my iPod lead to the 3.5 leads I can have both connections.
  22. I've just plugged my iPhone 4 into a normal old iPod charger, and it doesn't charge, so it is different, I've seen iPod lead (female) to 3.5mm converter, so when I get proper Internet back and not this slow phone net, I'll order one.
  23. i did the Bose system iPod hack, but I have now got an iPhone 4, I didn't realise that this uses the 3.5 socket instead of the normal iPod connector. Is it possible to get a iPod female connector to a 3.5mm converter? Thanks and sorry for not searching, but on my iPhone and it's soooo slow at the moment.
  24. how much was that? looks sweeeeeeeeeet
