When DMS fitted my HEL lines we had to use extra P-Clips, luckily, Dixon had a whole box of them in varing sizes

Just make sure that nothing on the bulb apart from the contact ends touches the contacts in the bulb holder.
If any conductive part of the circuitry board touches, then bye bye BMC
US lights will throw the beam the wrong way.
Perhaps you could get some broken reflector spares with the sidelight mounts intact, which you could transfer or graft to your existing lights?
