  1. I think all head units are linked to the immobiliser so it would need recoding at a dealer... Who might not be able to it anyway... Really not worth the risk/effort. +1
  2. Never had problems with pattern parts myself. The one time I paid extra for EBC discs they warped in no time I'm sure they were more the last time I checked so maybe just discounted to clear stock. Other sites want around £60 each.
  3. Yes they are the correct size for Brembos The sizes for non-Brembo cars would be 296×24.0 and 292×16 I have used this company before and had no problems. Just over £40 each delivered is a great price!
  4. CAP valuation... Should be getting well over £10k part-ex! ADVERTISE AND SELL YOURSELF £12840 if sold privately in showroom condition SELL TO A TRADER £10924 for showroom condition £10355 for average condition £9594 for below average condition
  5. I wish the 370 was more of an evolution of the same profile as predicted:
  6. Only some late US cars got an updated unit that ditched the tape and added MP3 disc reading: We didn't so add an aux line-in instead: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=507429#p507429
  7. I have a standard mid-pipe and backbox for sale. It's in great condition but the joint between them will need minor work before fitting (see for sale thread below). Collection from North Hampshire or Staines. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=38921
  8. They're not the same but there probably isn't much difference between them. I have the first one... It's a "Toyosports" and is basically a copy of the Nismo mid-pipe and backbox. This seller usually has one in open auction and they go for £200 or less. Quality is fine for the money but you may need a garage to tweak it slightly for perfect fit. This is nothing unusual considering people spending £300-350 on a Japspeed or Scorpion have similar issues. Mine went straight on although the tail pipes aren't quite centered or level Sound is slightly louder than stock although still almost silent when motorway cruising. Here is a previous thread about it: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=37450
  9. Loose connection is deep inside the headunit but can be fixed if you're brave: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=21318
  10. Try a regular tape in there... Does it still do it? Sounds like a poor quality or worn tape adaptor that slides about and rubber-edge wheel that take drive off the capstan looses contact... Reels stop turning... Mechanism thinks it's reached the end of the side and flips. Time to buy a new adaptor or hard-wire a proper line-in for vastly superior sound

    high mileage

Nissan engines are bomb-proof. The VQ engine series was around for 8 years before the 350Z even launched. Plenty of these engines in the US that have been faultless for 150k-250k miles At that mileage you should be checking the gearbox, clutch, suspension, wheel bearings, CV joints... but even problems with these are rare. I was shocked when I looked into getting a BMW M3... The engines and suspensions seem to self-destruct by 100k miles
  12. Wow that was fast It really is the best mod ever... Every 350Z should have one
  13. There's some pics of inside the CD unit here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=21318 or just forget CDs and add a line-in for an MP3 player: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=507429#p507429 If you've already got the headunit in bits, it's literally soldering 3 wires and it sounds brilliant
  14. I've given Basingstoke the thumbs down previously Used to be fine years ago with honest guys working there, but went down hill with work not done as promised, parts not turning up, etc... If you really must use a main dealer, I've had a good experience at Martins Winchester (buying and warranty work). Chris`I has recommended VAG specialist SJB in Chineham, although bizarrely they wouldn't touch my dad's Golf when he inquired about solving an engine problem... "Don't have the special tools"

    Senna NSX

Shame he thrashes it from cold and can't find 3rd gear
  16. The quality is fantastic! The signal doesn't even go through the tape electronics, it's pretty much straight into the amp. If you spend a bit of time tweaking the EQ on your player and the headunit it sounds better than the CD player
  17. I've bought all my tyres from MyTyres for 5+ years Usually sent from Germany but they give you a delivery tracking number and often turn up next day.

    My New Shed!!

    6,800rpm redline can't be bad
  19. In my experience Falken 452's let go suddenly when you reach the limit in the cold or wet, with no chance of recovery. I still have no idea why they have such a following on here

    Dare i change

Your Z will only lose about £3k in value over the next 3 years. A brand new eco-hatch will lose that much as soon as you drive off the forecourt Then another £5-6k over 3 years! Still think your Z is expensive to run?
  21. +1 Why ruin a nice V6 with a booming resonance exactly like a kitted 1.1 Saxo
  22. Actually on 50 mile motorway commutes outside of rush-hour, I get 1 mpg more on regular. This is consistent over many weeks and thousands of miles, no matter where I filled up. But for any more aggressive use than that, you can feel the engine's using it under protest and I would stick to super... Even if it is sometimes ridiculously over-priced at some garages
