  1. I've emailed Tegiwa who have got back to me and said that they although they don't currently manufacture these hooks, if a group buy were to be organised then they easily could. I'll do a bit more liaison with them to see what the minimum order would be and the price per unit, delivery etc... and then I'll see about setting up a group buy. Cheers Steve
  2. cheers for that - i've emailed kode to see if they can help. in the meantime - anyone reckon this would fit? I (that is, google) make 16mm to be 0.62 inches so seems close enough? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/European-Model-Auto-Car-Front-Tow-Hook-Trailer-Ring-Eye-Towing-Red-/130891671171?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e79c06683 (I wouldn't actually use it for towing the car mind!) ta!
  3. Looking for the horseshoe style for the front of the car, purely as a showpiece. 2003- so I believe its the 16mm screw thread. Can't seem to find these anywhere except USA on ebay - but the shipping charges make it a bit unfeasible! There are some dodgy looking cheap chinese ones which, just for show, is fine but the measurements (screw diameter 1.1cm?!?) don't seem right! Anyone know where to get them in the UK or if there are variants for other cars that fit the Zed? Cheers, Steve
  4. Morning all, Deep breath - news of a GOOD warranty experience...! I've had the Cobra Sport exhaust on my Zed for about 2.5 years - really great looking and sounding system manufacturered and fitted by Exhausts UK in Sheffield. Unfortunately mine has since sufferred some corosion on the flex sections of the Y-Pipe and also where the tailpipe join the back box, and there was a distinctly 'farty' noise coming from it! This shouldn't happen and it is unusual for a stainless steel system but perhaps I was just unlucky. Anyway, the system comes with a 25 year gaurantee, so here is the sequence of events... 1. I emailed Exhausts UK explaining the problem and sent pictures of the damage. 2. They emailed back the same day, apologising and gave me the option of sending the exhaust back, or taking my car to them for repair. 3. I booked in for a couple of weeks later, took it in, they replaced the Y-section and repaired and reinforced the back box. 4. Price paid = £0 5. Hassle = nil 6. Satisfied? Yes! Whilst it's a shame that the damage occurred, in terms of their effort to put it right, you can't get fairer than that really, so well done to Exhausts UK for their service and it's great to see a motor company that honours thier gaurantee without the usual battle!
  5. yeah i got a new y pipe with the cobra. it had metal braiding around the flex joints which had rusted so i ripped them out. problem persists though!
  6. cheers fella, the one above the back box us tight - are there othets too? sounds like its coming from the passenger side of the car
  7. Any ideas folks - it's driving me crraaazzzzyyyy!!!!!!!
  8. Hi folks, Got a wee issue with the zed. When starting the car, after a few seconds at idle there is a faint metallic vibration comes from underneath the car. It goes away when setting off, but returns a lot more pronounced when: - accelerating - any gear - approx 2750 - 3250 rmp (regardless of gear selection of speed) Sound like its coming from the passenegr side, but hard to tell for sure. Sometimes accompanied by a 'whoosing' sound at higher speeds (different to th eusual whoosh that is!). Initially thought it might be exhaust related - got a Cobra system and Berks HFC - on been on the car a couple of years and all looks in decent shape. As a separate problem, I'm fairly sure my front wheel bearings are on the way out - but might the two issues be related at all? Sorry this is vague I know, but any suggestions welcome. Will take into my local garage to get checked out, but would be good to go with some ideas! Cheers all,
  9. Hi mate, Yes would still like one, but no worries if I've missed the order.
  10. Hi mate, Can you put me down for a power steering tank please? When do you need payment? Cheers
  11. Fitted Garage reported no problems getting the old ones out or putting the new ones in. I've only had time for a quick blast but so far the car sounds awesome - a little louder at low revs but not intrusive, then it gets deep and throaty and as you go up the revs it just roars!!! Will try and get some clips up soon. Very very happy man
  12. Received with thanks! Getting fitted tomorrow
  13. Nowt wrong with him, but if that's the shape women like - I'm sh!t out of luck!
  14. This will be an interesting thread! Personally I like curvy I like visible 'hips' that sway when she walks and boobs that bounce a bit (or even a lot) - am I sounding pervy? For me, too thin looks unhealthy and I don't go for all the celebrity size 0 stuff, I think the celebrity/fashion industry is a disgrace...but I won't get on the soap box! - put it this way, would you be attracted to a bloke who sported the physique of a mal-nourished 12 year old boy? I bet not! On the other hand, fat or obese aint attractive either! The odd spare pound here and there - wouldn't put me off a woman if I found her face and personality attractive. I think 'lean' is probably a better aspiration than 'skinny' - sounds healthier - deep down, for an animal perspective, I think we are subconsciously attracted to people we think look healthy - so like you say, watching your figure is probably the way ahead - but no obessing over it to the extreme. My missus did a degree study on this sort of thing - couples were rated by random strangers - nearly all were rated as roughly equal in perceived attractiveness and were generally of similar fatness/thiness and even facially similar - weird eh? I guess it means we are all somewhere in a 'pecking order'. Be intersting to hear what women like physically in a bloke! Please don't say David Beckham....
  15. Good choice on the tyres, I have those too and find them very good performance for price - of course will longer to bed them in as you are only using them at weekends. Nothing wrong with OEM discs and pads - you should have no problems.
  16. Hello mate, Aux belts will be fine from the off. What disc/pads did you get - the manufacturer normally sets out the required bedding in procedure - usually involves braking from different speeds so you'll need some quiet road to do it on. They will work fine, but proper bedding in helps to get them working most effectively with the discs. Just allow a bit of distance initially though, til you get used to the their performance. Tyres, depending on type it's usually 4-500 hundred miles of normal acceleration/braking/cornering, I think, to remove the protective coating - which ones did you get?
  17. Personally I find it easiest to remove as many parts as possible/practical and clean them individually, clean the bit they were in, and then put it back together. Most of the plastic trim can be removed in order to get the sh!t out of the nook and crannies, and the strut bar, airbox and pipe are also easy to remove. You'll find decent enough engine degreasers in Halfords - just make sure you cover up any electrical wires/sockets etc with clingfilm to prevent them getting wet. Use a plastic trim restorer on yer plastic bits.
  18. With a LOT of effort... or see here - if you have some spare cash! http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=59850&start=0
  19. to the forum! Mine is a 2003 and I will be celebrating her 100K miles in the near future - still running sweet mate, I reckon there's another 100K in there! Have fun!
  20. There is a group buy running on the Berks if you're interested - you will have get in quick though as I think it's ending this weeked
  21. Don't know a great deal about it TBH, but I believe you will have to re-fit normal cats in order to pass your MOT.
  22. Hello mate, I've had mine apart before, the part on the left certainly looks like the housing for the window motor, but I don't know what the other bits are for. I found the guide (posted aboved) was very good - easy to follow and you should not have any issues doing it yourself. A strip down will at least tell whether or not you have a motor connected. I take it you're a new owner? Where did you get the car - dealer should sort this out for you really mate. Good luck
  23. I think it's something to do with possible danger being posed to driver/passengers - ie - if the window is stuck open then stuff could hit them (stones etc). I think if the window is stuck shut then the car would probably pass.
