  1. Looks like the recall was due to the filler hose cracking on 03/04 models in the states. On mine I've had it start to click and then take it a little further and it starts to come up the neck of the filler which is strange when the tank isn't even full. Another thing is when I undo the filler cap after the drive to the petrol station I get a psssssttttttt (hiss of air ) Is that common?
  2. It's shell v-power that I always put in. I've tried going a bit slower with it but it didn't seem to make much difference. Perhaps I should be even slower or as you say try a different brand of super. Funny that some others can only squeeze 60 litres in. I wonder if 60 litres is from the bottom mark on the guage and the other 20 is in reserve then? Seems like a lot to have in reserve though?
  3. Just played a few missions and its like having a workout, the action is intense! Lots of weapons and the sounds seem improved. Graphically it looks more polished, theres a lot more stuff going on in the backgrounds and lots of nice details. Shame I payed £43 when I pre-ordered. Can't believe the supermarkets are having a price war with it. £25-30ish most places!! Awesome game though!
  4. Nope, a uk spec 05 which I was under the impression should hold around 80litres?
  5. I had about a quarter of a tank left and was putting in another £30 at the weekend. Get the old click click on the pump so gave it a second to go down but it just won't take anymore. Get in the car and ignition on and I have only 3 quarters of a tank full. Are there any breathers in the tank on the Z and do you think a blocked breather is most likely the cause?? Cheers
  6. Argh, just rang gameplay who said it was dispatched on the 4th nov. Apparantly parcel force are holding all of the copies until the release date!!??? A little bit annoying since I've always had my games from gameplay 1-2 days earlier than the release date when they use royal mail first class. I didn't even want the upgraded courier delivery!!
  7. Got my denso's from opie and plan to fit them this weekend if it stays dry. I just hope its easy to do, I'll take my time with it and it shouldn't be too hard. Was having a quick look at the service manual and it talks about removing the air filter ducting to get the coil packs out, is that really necessary? I thought it was just strut brace off, then the engine cover and that was it!??
  8. Just noticed I had an email from gameplay saying they dispatched it yesterday by courier!!!!

    Scorpion Fitted

    and a video of course
  11. Fantastic thread this is, certainly a bit more to this engine than my old renault 5 engine I rebuilt Loving all the detailed photos and can't wait to see it being assembled I actually quite like the idea of the plenum being painted graphite as you have it. It's not all bling then like most engine bays you see around on the TT/SC cars, a little more stealthy instead with just the odd bits of "sheen" like the inspection covers
  12. I used the K&N cleaning kit on my JWT, didn't realise how dirty it was until I watched all the black crud and dead flys going down the sink!. If you use a brush to get in the pleats make sure it's very soft and go easy with it otherwise you can damage the cotton gauze stuff and as others have said just go easy with the oil. When you rinse it only rinse from the inside outwards as well.
  13. The k2 with y-pipe is still considerably quieter than a K1 with a standard y-pipe. A K2 on its own is a little bit louder than stock, not a lot like a K1 but just a different sound. A nice deep bellow lower down the revs and a real howl at 4k. The y-pipe gives it the extra edge because the original is fairly restrictive. Higher up the revs there is a little bit of a metallic sound (which wasn't there with the standard system) similar to when people fit sports cats but obviously just no where near as loud. If I were to give an honest opinion I would say I watched pretty much every youtube video there is of a 350z/g35 with different exhausts and spent hours debating what to buy. I love the sound of these cars anyway and something as loud as a K1 I probably could have lived with. For me it came down to the tail pipes aswell. A lot of people like the look of the K1 but I think it looks a little extreme. The K2 keeps the standard look just shinier. I would have loved the NISMO exhaust but couldn't bring myself to pay the price. I think the K2 with y-pipe is the nearest sound I'll get to the nismo. When I'd ordered mine I started to panic thinking I hope it will be loud enough etc. (I had a tuned renault 5 with a side exit previously which sounded incredible on boost ) All i can say is, I need not have worried because when I drove away from the garage having had it fitted I had a smile from ear to ear I don't regret it at all. Usually I get bored of the sound of things quickly but im not bored of this yet and I know that a year or 2 down the line if I "really" wanted, I could stick some sports cats on the car and make it even louder. With regards to the scorpion, I havn't heard one in person myself but from what I can tell its just slightly louder than the K2 probably due to the fact it just has a straght mid-pipe and no resonator. The only thing that stopped me going for the scorpion was the fitment problems I had read about and the tips not being rolled but thats just me being fussy.
  14. Some pics and video of the K2 in my thread aswell : viewtopic.php?f=62&t=24458&start=0 I'm still really happy with it and think I made the right choice. If you go for the K2 I'd say definately get the japspeed y-pipe aswell. It is less restrictive than the standard item and unleashes a little bit more of the lovely v6 roar. Just get ready to lose a few MPG if you have any tunnels to go through saying that I'm averaging around 22mpg to and from work (town driving) and 34/35mpg on longer motorway journeys
  15. Halfords must stock these. Failing that parkers have always been good for stuff like that if you have one near by.
  16. Would have thought its just a sticking non return valve. It would by rights keep the pipes primed with some water. Can you see if there is a gauze in there - to rule out it being a filter? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NON-RETURN-VALVE- ... 286.c0.m14
  17. I've never hesitated this much before jacking a car in the past I don't want to damage the seams on the sills or crack my diff housing....
  18. Thanks for that guys. Just had another look and I noticed a lug on the bottom of the diff. Any ideas if thats the proper jack point. It isn't central though but I've got no idea what else it could be???? The said lug doesn't appear to be on US spec cars that don't have the plastic cover.
  19. Thanks so far Andy thats the sort of answer I was looking for. I guess if a few others also do it that way with no problem then thats what I'll be doing
  20. Hi, I want to get at the silencer on my z. I've had a good search on the forum and I see the jacking point for a trolley jack on the rear is under the diff. I see people mention our "UK" cars have a plastic cover which I've noticed on mine but no one has actually said how they got around it in the end? Can the cover be easily removed by first jacking the car up on one side with the scissor jack? Or is i possible with the rubber pad on the jack to still jack it with the plastic cover in place and not damage it??? ( I wouldn't have thought so) If the diff is then a no no. Is it ok to jack it from the sills but then put the axle stands under the cup type things that sit under each spring (one post I read said something about doing this but it looks a little iffy to me !? As my drive is sloped I'm forced to work on the car on the road so being able to put a trolley jack under from the rear in the middle would have been ideal. I hope someone could shed some light Thankyou in advance! Spencer
  21. Good choice. Can't beat the sound of a NISMO but can beat the price I guess Can't wait to see/hear some videos. It looks great too
  22. I see your going to give it a miss anyway but just to add, these HKS copy's won't fit a UK car without putting more of a bend in the pipe to clear the diff, which would be fairly difficult or grinding down some fins on the diff housing. They do fit an imported JDM car though.
  23. Well I've done a few miles with it on and still manage 23/24 mpg - It's only your right foot that will really effect fuel consumption! Got a local garage to fit it for me in the end. Our drive is slanted and I don't have spare ramps/stands and would end up doing it on the road. Certainly not a difficult job though. Should take about an hour to do. Soak all the bolts with plenty of Plusgas or WD40. You get new bolts and gaskets with the exhaust and then the most fiddly part is getting the old silencer off the 3 rubber hangers and getting the new one back on. The tail pipes are the same diameter as the original (100mm/4inch). The y pipe is 2.5 inch from the cats into 3inch at the mid pipe all the way to the backbox. Bumper tucks definately look nice but I don't fancy putting self tappers through my bumper!! so thats off my list for the time being. I think I should get a stubby aerial though

  25. Had my Japspeed exhaust installed yesterday and I absolutely love it. It has a real deep bellow to it up to 3500rpm and then turns into a howl similar to the stock exhaust but just louder and more ferocious. I really couldnt believe how deep it sounds & the camera in my video really doesnt pick up the bass that well but you'll have to take my word for it. It does sound lovely! It even sounds great just poodling around normal roads at 30mph with the sound bouncing of buildings etc I'm not sure how much louder it's made it by having the y-pipe aswell but the original one looks quite restrictive. At idle it's only slightly louder than standard but as soon as you tickle the throttle or like when you initially fire it up and it blips the throttle its a fair bit louder. The Video - or
