  1. Wow, thanks for the replys! The grooves are evenly spaced but they are quite large grooves compared to most discs I've seen. Here's another picture: There isn't a deep groove around the edge of the disc and the surface colour seems ok and there didn't seem to be too much rubbish on them/around the caliper or in the vented part of the disc. They looked very clean. The only thing I would say is they seem to have very slight ridges/scratches when I ran my finger down them. You can just about see them in that picture ^. I didn't actually take the disc off to inspect the rear where it mates to the hub but thats something to consider if I dont get anywhere with the stealers. I did try "scrubbing" the discs with some hard braking a couple of months after buying the car and at first I thought it had made it better but then found it was actually just as bad. It causes the steering wheel to actually shake. I suppose its bad on my part because I should have taken the car back as soon as I could but I just thought I would see if they settled down. I only really use the car for short journeys most of the time on roads that are only 30-40mph anyway and it is only noticeable over 40 so I never really thought too much of it.
  2. Hey all, Well I bought my 2005 350z GT back in november from a nissan dealer and have 2 years extended warranty on it. When viewing the car the salesman was telling me how it has "upgraded" brembo brakes on that were fitted by the previous owner, obviously the GT models have brembos anyway but then I realised he meant the discs have been swapped for some grooved one's although I'm unsure of the make. You can see them here: I noticed some vibration when braking from over 40 mph but he assured me they were new and he kept telling me to take it easy with them for a while. I don't really do any long journeys but the odd time I've took the car out for a run I've really noticed this juddering and so this weekend I had the front wheel off and noticed when turning the disc by hand there's an area where the pad looks like it touches the disc where as the rest of the rotation there is about a 1mm gap between the pad. So in other words theiy are pretty badly warped! Now as far as I'm concerned it's been like this since I bought it from them and so I would think they would swap the discs for me under warranty. Does that sound fair enough to you??? Obviously I won't know until I ring them but I'll keep you posted on the service I recieve and the outcome. I was just quite shocked as a lot of people will say its very rare for discs these days to warp. But there are so many people that you see on the roads who will brake heavly from say 70mph upto a roundabout or sliproad and then sit there with their foot on the brake!
  3. Ah fair enough, so in the vid of yours is that with the bungs in or out? I'll eagerly await your drive by vid's aswell
  4. I was going to ask that, I get the impression from this video that the Buddyclub is a little more civilised than the K1??? or it could just be because the K1 sounds a little higher pitched?
  5. This isn't it is it ? If it is, I must say it sounds awesome I've been looking at the buddyclubs for a while but can never seem to find any info and certainly hardly any videos. I think originally there was only the one video on youtube of a guy tracking his Z
  6. This looks very promising as it includes the y-pipe aswell and is definately an interesting design as it enter the backbox and looks very well made. In the listing though it says it doesn't come with gaskets!? would these be the ones that mate to the original cats? can the old ones be re-used or is it a case of getting stung from the stealers or an exhaust fitting place??? I'm not so keen on the tips on the one in the ebay advert but on their website it looks like they list 2 styles and the one in the picture looks a lot like the standard exhaust tips.
  7. Nice work there, can't beat the satisfaction of doing something yourself. I'm loving the slightly lower stance and the fact the wheels now fill the arches. I want some spacers now
  8. I havn't used my car the last couple of days because of the snow and thought I'd drive to work today since tommorow I probably wont be able to again depending on the weather. Got in and Started it up and had the air bag light flashing - bizarre I got to work and quickly searched on here and noticed this reset procedure and its cured it. Is it anything to worry about or mention when it goes in for its service or before? The cars an 05 and I have a couple of years warranty on it. Maybe it's just the cold weather thats affected it Thanks in advance
  9. I've always loved your car, Some nice photos there. I was very tempted to get a black Z and stick some red brides in it, they look really smart
  10. Sounds a lot louder, amazing considering how small that middle silencer is. Doesn't the scorpion have a straight through mid pipe with no silencer anyway? I think the scorpion is a bit deeper though, probably because of the re designed rear box!??
  11. Thanks guys, it's a shame I don't have any more bullet cam footage but it was just way too cold to do any more filming The camera is a Sony 480 Line bullet camera, It's not widescreen unfortunately like the rest of my video but its a fairly decent picture. I bought it from the states on "fleabay" about a year ago for peanuts (60 quid IIRC). It comes with a powered microphone too and all I do is plug them both into my video camera to record from it. it's a bit of a pain because you still have to use a standard video camera with AV line in but its better quality than a lot of the bullet cameras that record to SD card for example. It came with a small ball headed mount that I've attached a couple of those really stong Neodymium magnets to and then covered with foam so theres no way it can harm the car. Just had a look and the guy I bought mine from is still selling them: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sony-480-line-Color-CCD-Bullet-Cam-Helmet-Camera-PAL_W0QQitemZ330297427307QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCamcorder_Accessories?hash=item330297427307&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177
  12. Just a little video I put together of my car & testing my bullet camera. I know when I was buying my Z I spent days looking through 350z videos on youtube with my mouth watering Hope you like it. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6sjQEHXsGek&feature=channel_page&fmt=18
  13. It is as the other say a knock off of the HKS Hi-Power , I think the extra pipes on the silencers are resonators maybe to improve back pressure/sound?? I had a look around and they are for sale on ebay.com aswell http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/350Z-03- ... 240%3A1318 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Tru ... 240%3A1318 I also emailed a guy who had bought one from feral (the ebay link you posted) on ebay. He reckons the garage he took it too had problems fitting it...something to do with it not clearing the diff!? Apparantly Geoff (feral) had reccommended a fitter to the guy who bought it however he hasn't took it yet. He did say if it didnt fit he would be going back to get his money back. I sent feral a message and he said they aren't the easiet to fit but reckons it can be done. To be fair for the money and if it does fit, it looks to be a very nicely made exhaust. The tips look pretty big. If they are the same as the HKS ones though they are 120mm which i believe is only 20mm more than the standard pipes?? They are also adjustable in and out so you can get them looking right with the bumper. Here's another undercar pic http://img124.imageshack.us/my.php?image=350zlg3.jpg
  14. Found on 350zroadsterclub. The usual "Best Motoring" Cheeseyness but still worth watching I think. right click and "save target as" http://350zroadsterclub.com/videos/Zrace.avi Sorry in advance if this is a repost!? Towards the end they have a race and one of the drivers says "oh wheres the clutch gone, it stuck to the floor for a second" I heard about that happening to some people on here too!
  15. thanks for the welcome guys and the advice - water it is!
  16. Hi all, Picking up my Z this saturday so just hoping the rain stays away! It's an 05 coupe in gunmetal with rays and black interior I've been looking at them for a while and having a read of the forum for things to look out for. Just a quick question since today it was -1 degrees and my locks/doors and windows were all frozen solid on my old car. What actually happens with the Z with regards to the windows being frozen and them automatically dropping when the door is opened?? any tips/tricks or info would be appreciated with the weather seemingly getting worse. Cheers
