  1. Yes but 3 is best for cooling breaks as it is specifically directs the air to the insides of the wheels. Strange that some of you choose 3 because though it looks the best, it is also the worst at being a front splitter because it produces the most drag. You see that's the problem of making something which does one thing and then making it serve another purpose. Actually, I'm going to change my mind and say number 4 Seems the best compromise on reflection.
  2. +1 for me. Would be very interested in this for track use

  4. I've never used them myself but I'd hazard a guess at them being junk. If you want decent suspension you need to pay decent money. If you just want a drop for cosmetic reasons then I'd just go for lowering springs
  5. Rare Rims do good quality steel nuts in different colours http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=113&t=39193
  6. I don't think this is actually true. This car has been built specifically for NA. An NA engine build is very different from a FI build in terms of spec. Personally I would love to have this car rather than spend all the money needed for a FI Zed. This would be a seriously fun sports car with enough power (there IS such a thing as too much power in a rear wheel drive car), properly sorted handling without the extra weight at the front that a TT or SC and all associated bits would have... But that rear wing would HAVE to go
  7. Correct - he was driving the MP4-23 from 2008. I spent the day there today - i had a great time (Thanks Mike for making me aware of this!) I was stood waiting at the trackside on deansgate for 2.5 hours before there was any action but it was worth the wait... The MP4-12C looked good (although quiet), but the F1 car was incredible! As mentioned, the noise is just unreal.. it just screams it's so high pitched! Absolutely brilliant. The smell - just brilliant I was also impressed by the crowd... the announcer reckoned there were 20k people there today and i can believe it - and the reception Jenson got was excellent... i didnt think people would think Jensen was that much of a star, but he was getting huge support. It was a good atmosphere. Lastly, i made it into the Vodafone VIP zone (anyone could go in there), and i had a go on the Pit-Stop challange. Me and 2 strangers had to change a wheel... you had a few practices and then they timed you. I was with 2 strangers (a chinese guy and a spaniard who looked like Alonso) and i had the best job of operating the wheel gun. Until we went on the fastest time of the day had been 2.63 seconds, and then they timed us and we got 2.18!! The announcer who was commentating on Jenson all day said we were the fastest time of the weekend so far, so if no one beat our time i think we'll be winning some merchandise... so will be watching the phone this week... Yeah I waited around for about the same amount of time as you did to make sure I got a good view! Wow your time for the pit stop challenge is really impressive! You'll have to let me know what goodies you get for that. Was a really great day out and I still can't quite believe such a great event was totally free I was quite jealous of the two competition winners who got a passenger ride in the MP4-12C with Jenson. That's quite a prize. Agree though, it's a bit too quiet for a super car really.
  8. Went into Manchester today to see Jensen Button hooning up and down Deansgate, firstly in the new Mclaren MPC 12C... and then in his Mclaren F1 car All I can say about the noise of that thing is WOW... just WOW!! You really don't appreciate the sound of those things on the TV. Anyway, here's a few pics and some short video clips from the day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYhMsy1Ttbo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5Wl7xKijI0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dfdOLrE2Co
  9. This looks very interesting. Will there be access to the oil filter when this is in place as per the Z Speed Aluminium under trays?
  10. Yes, although to be fair I only stepped back for a moment to take the photo's then went straight back to licking it It's always important to know what a fast car tastes like!
  11. Out of interest, what's wrong with the one at £175? Seems genuine as far as I can tell, unless I'm missing something??
  12. Wow, only just come across this thread. Love the colour, suits the car and the kit really well! Looks very classy
  13. have to disagree, an exhaust like the invidia q300 true dual was suprisingly quiet, the scorpion is pretty quiet. just don't get a K1 or something of that design its an ear bleeder Yes but they won't add any power though The only gains to be made from exhausts are from replacing the OEM y pipe and cats. The rest of the exhaust system apparently flows perfectly well.
  14. If you take the headers out of the equation those mods won't make that much difference to the sound, a bit deeper sounding and slightly more gruff under acceleration but nothing too crazy, especially if resonated decats are used.
  15. Headers will be very costly to have installed (anywhere from 8 - 12 hours labour) so unless you can do it yourself I'd leave them. Plenum spacer, de-cats, a Motordyne XYZ pipe fitted with a race cat, post 06 air box and finally an Uprev tune will give you a decent boost in performance. Might also want to consider the AMS light weight pulleys to help the car rev more freely. Don't bother replacing the mid pipe or the exhaust back box as that will only add noise and not give you any more power.
  16. As others have said, £12k for an 05 Cat D write off is WAY over priced. Also, what sort of service history does it have?? Good luck with the sale though.
  17. Yeah basically that's it. It only weighs 795kgs and has a full roll cage, adjustable suspension so would be seriously fun on the road and on the track.
  18. Just seen this on Pistonheads http://www.pistonheads.com/roadtests/doc.asp?c=47&i=24061 and I REALLY want one now! Looks like a properly track focussed road car. Quite pretty as well.
  19. I don't think there's any particular reason to go for Cosworth parts. From looking on my350z.com Wiseco Pistons and Eagle Rods seem to be a popular combo, but again, Abbey Motorsport will be able to advise what components will best suit your needs.
  20. If the engine's already out then headers would be a good choice. Could even go for forged rods and pistons as well as cams. All depends on your budget I suppose. If you're going for performance then I would ditch the induction kit and go back to a stock air box though. Abbey Motorsport are the guys to speak to about this as they will have the knowledge to advise what's best for your goals and budget
  21. Could we also add Alcantara Gear Gaiter in the interior section please?
  22. Got myself booked for a track day at Anglesey on Friday 2nd September so I thought I'd see if anyone else is going? It'll be the second time I've been there but the first time in the Zed. Got an instructor for the day so should be fun!
