    Nismo Exaust

How much Chilli ? Plus cost of same make wheels (I think) that Dominic (spelling ?) had on her GM Zed at JTS ? 18" with nice off-sets wearing 255 on the back. Also want goodridge pipe or similar from master clutch cylinder to slave. (PM is fine if you don't post here
  3. Thanks for comments chaps (and no worries Mark it was good to have you alongside). The total weight of the Caterham is ~500kg (with fuel). I have to have 20kg of lead bolted in to meet the minimum weight limit of 605kg I think a Zed is ~1500kg - still a great driving experience though. (CS - thanks again for rapid delivery of Ferodo pads prior to Silverstone
  4. Gents - thought I'd share a picture of the Caterham we discussed at JTS
  5. at leasts they have a nice (toyo/yoko) tread pattern...
  6. About to purchase tickets for this event - has anyone got a discount promotional code via their company, sponsor etc ? If yes much appreciated
  7. thanks Mr L - good feedback on the 'V2' - I'm nearer 53cm (small). Yes lid is for comp use, but there is a rumour (and I think in place by some track organisers from my source) that SA2005 will soon be a trackday requirement due to fireproof lining - so anyone thinking of buying now, may as well get this spec.
  8. My thanks to Rob as well for organising this - always a lot more effort than any one would believe... My highlight was taking Zed on track at a very resonable price. Not having owned car very long this was a very quick way to find [somewhere near] it's limits. It took one session to get some confidence, as the [stock] car is naturally quite 'soft' for circuit use, but once you get used to this it really is a superb 'out of the box' track car. With far more grip, sensitivity and control first impressions give (this is all relative I know but I'm comparing with a much lighter/tighter track car that hasn't got air con !!). My last of three sessions was really great fun, with less cars on the track. I'm glad I put on at least two essential track mods the day before; nismo accelerator pedal and Ferodo front pads. The latter were smoking with the weight of the Zed - but no fade at all. Thanks to Richie and Louis for your excellent company, plus Keith and Mark (my track buddy).... and the cake also went down very well. (Richie - the low price Snell SA2005 helmet is a 'V2' details from IKON at 01832 293 771 or info@ikon racing.com - cost is £139.00 + £2.50 carriage !!! but you really need to try one on, it probably wont be as comfy as an Arai but it is £350 cheaper than Arais cheapest SA2005 lid - I'll be trying one soon).
  9. I should make South Mimms at 7 (I guess you'll be near restaurant entrance ? or parking up elsewhere ?)
  10. What's optimum tyre pressure people have found for track day antics ? I'll just be doing one or two 15 minute sessions at Silverstone on Sunday. I'm thinking of dropping a couple of pounds all round - any recommendation from the trackers (I haven't tracked the Z before and if only one/two short sessions it's not much time to play with different settings). Thanks.

    ESP

so glad it's fixed can you be a bit more precise on the fix please, as my ESP is a bit nervous on the front - causing front wheel to brake prematurely - mostly nearside on fast/tight right hand bends. Is 'front steering sensor' correct description - or is this the ESP sensor on one or both front wheels ? - if yes did they change both or one side you were having a particular problem with ? thanks in advance
  12. sorry H5 - it's me checked outbox email and couldn't see the message I sent - just resent address (must have been operator error).
  13. I'm missed from the posted list (let me know if address not received - I did email last week thanks....
  14. great news Staurt (?) after seeing your wales pictures myself, and I know of one other 350z that will be in the 1540-1555 track session (I may book another slot as well if still available - I'll let you know if this is the case). PS. if you can get to M25/M1 route i could give you a lift as will be travelling alone.
  15. I'll also be taking the M25, M1 route..... (from north essex - this is faster than cross country)
  16. Cancel that - ordered mine direct from Adam - nice easy and fast transaction and just fitted. My first mod !! (will have to change profile now
  17. but you only ever see one at a time
  18. Good to hear how well a stock Zed performed on track - as I'll be tracking mine 1st time later this month. Plus stock exhaust sounds great - and even girlfriend couldn't miss cathing the sound
  19. I've done a couple of these days a few years back (when we had a petrol head supplier). HIGHLY recommended, especially as it's the only place I know where instructors will push you to your limits - no silly rev limits etc like similar events at Brands. My favourite car on both occassions may surprise you..... the clio cup sport something or other... these really scream and fly with the sequential box, plus the instructor has a brake and throttle, so if you want some fun (once you've set your own good time) he will ask you to keep the power on why he sets it up sideways (brake/throttle input) and you can drive/appear like a god looking out of the side window whilst going round corners... it's a real shame I'm not involved with same supplier today If you want to go quick just let instructor know - they will usually ask want you want from each event - just reply "the fastest time of the day"

    100,000 miles

I really don't think an owner/driver with 130k Zed miles should be labelled as a 'Z Hopeful' 350doc should be awarded his own title (and any others hitting this limit)... eg. Zed Journeyman Miles of Zed others ?
  21. Adam - I've emailed asking for individual UK shipping costs (and in separate email the same query for a NISMO 380RS Gas Pedal) - need the latter asap.
  22. Another willing purchaser of pedal here if any individuals have a change of mind
  23. some Newbie advice to another Mike.... just search on 'ipod' and you'll find pages of data
