  1. cheers for the info guys I'll probably get a recharge kit the filter is just a bit dirty, and not having cleaned one before I was just thinking about popping on a replacement and cleaning the other one when I get time, then i'm not stuck waiting for it to dry etc. Chilli Red - how much is the replacement filter please?
  2. Does anyone sell a replacement filter cone for the pop charger?
  3. if you can, go back and check for any signs that may have been obscured by bushes etc, and takes photos, also isnt the distance between streetlights meant to indicate its a 30 zone?

  6. I think someone was selling the set of three dials a while ago? my aircon keeps turning itself on, which is really annoying, so I'm looking to replace the switch, I guess it might come as a whole unit? anyone got one?

    braking noise

Thanks for the replies. I think its coming from the front but I can't be entirely sure, will need to do more listening (without the radio on!) I think I take the advice and remove, check and clean the pads when I next get the chance. I dont even know what pads are fitted. I've done about 12k mostly motorway miles since buying it last august, and its only on 31k now. Could be original pads and disks maybe? What would cause the rear pads to break up, just age? cheers

    braking noise

this sounds strange, but under medium braking force from a decent speed, say 50 or 60 mph or so, I hear a noise, sort of like a 'WOOOOooooo' . It goes away once I take my foot off the brake pedal. Can't really think of a way to describe the noise! There's no vibration or any problem I can make out, and the brakes were checked about 2k miles ago at the service. Not sure if this is normal, only noticed it cos I didn't have the radio on! Any ideas? Cheers Mike
  14. Hope you at least put a kids seat on your passenger seat I don't need one, the kids go in the boot!
  15. I park in the parent and child spaces, as they are much bigger than the normal spaces, and usually right next to the shop entrance!
  16. as above, just after 5pm I think it was
  17. They should put speed limits UP on motorways, think how much time we'd save and how much better off the economy would be if we all could get where we were going sooner!
  18. Cool, i'm interested to see what you think of it
  19. Ian what software / lead do you use to read the codes? I have VCDS from my old SEAT and wondered if this will read generic OBD2 codes on the Z?

    laser star

so have the cops 'tested' it for you yet? and out of interest, does it actually work well as a parking sensor? It works as a parking sensor.. pretty poor one though... but then again it's adjustible! I don't know what you mean by the cops testing it? By testing it, I mean have they zapped you with a laser gun when you were speeding, but they never stopped / fined you?

  22. has anyone used one of the laser star 'parking sensor' jammers? The idea that you have to turn it off once you've been targetted and slowed down, so that the cops can get a reading of you doing the speed limit seems a bit dodgy to me... surely if they can't get a reading the first time they try, then they'll pull you over, find the 'parking sensor' and throw the book at you?
