  1. I have a standard set that I can clean up and sell onto you if you like the rear pads are pretty new fronts has some go still in them discs or caliper need a good clean. Can post photos and stuff if you like... postage will be a killer though..... I know someone coming over from UK this weekend so could tell him to take them in his car back though, would need to know pretty soon then.
  2. FWD should have better tyres rear because: No power train rear so need all the traction with free wheel? No weight rear as the engine is front so need all the traction rear? It's what I said about the toy car test... Not really sure why but know I've heard about it before. Only scary thing about crappy fronts is when you give power delivery (fwd) and the just keep going to the outer side of the corner... at least with a RWD you can adjust the behaviour a bit more easily then a FWD.... I'll see what I can dig up!
  3. Thinner wheels for the win! It's all about getting the water away from the rubber underneath as quick as possible! I wouldn't like it though, been in wet on the bike and it ain't nice. Btw, 70Mph? thats pretty fast for floods! Give us your thread pattern so we can dimiss your tyres as sh*t now
  4. my sheds will put yours to the shame...

    Forum brake test.

post it so Then again I've been told that your driving style kills anything
  6. +1 that would be wear and tear, sad to say those warranties don't account for much. Same if your brake pads was shot after 2 months the would not cover that, not sure if they even do that if the pads brake down taking her around the corner from the dealers... Shame that you didn't get it in writing from them that they WOULD pay before you carried out the repair works, since you'd be able to get aftermarket parts and fitting for less then that. Wish you well!
  7. LIke how they used Suzuki to develope a v8 :-) wonder how often they need an engine rebuild since they most likely used a 1300 hayabusa engine changed the stroke and bore and glued them together... would love one! Need a new one every 20k
  8. Not necessarily. If it were me I'd put them on the fronts, simply because I would want more grip on the wheels moving the car as well as doing the steering. You may end up with a safer car your way as it would understeer with greater aplomb, but there's no real need to do it that way. Think there was a test done somewhere that they had a dummy car (little toy car) going down a hill with crap front tires and was 'braking' the car would eventually stop but when the crap tyres was rear the car would swing around during braking. Not sure now but think that was the gist of it...
* ha samma lastförmåga Above is what they state in Sweden so same there thats its not legal to have different type on different axle, also the MOT place can decide to fail abit whatever way the want if the tyres arent whats supossed to be on the car...
  10. That would be silly. A fwd car lethal in the wet? You either can't drive or your are making a mountain out of a mole hill. turbo fwd in wet with @*!# tyres is lethal wheel spin and torque steer, can drive and don't build mountains...
  11. Was going to ask how those are in the wet... my good year f1s are class! Less width wins :-)
  12. Should be illegal to mix at all full 4 corners! Was looking at a mates new fwd car new tyres front... no name @*!# and continetals rear... this is from a dealer... car feels like a fart to drive in the dry and lethal in the wet!
  13. 239£ pricey... No recession buster prices over there, suposse it's a proper track
  14. Are you a complete idiot? Do you have no comprehension on how tyres work? Sorry to sound harsh, but that's just the most stupid piece of advice I've heard on here in a long time. If mixing tyres front and rear is bad, then just how suicidal do you have to be to have three different makes of tyre on one car?
  15. I'm trying out a place that's cheaper then them at the moment, they couldnt beat the price I gave them What Captain is talking about is this > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6J8hfNJeyw (him doing a twirl )
