  1. Little bit of progress tonight, almost finished the front bumper, took about 1 1/2 hrs to do, little trickier than expected but went on well!! Havent put the washer jet covers back on and will be putting a slightly smaller plate on the front and losing the plinth thing! Few pics during fitting....
  2. Jay - as said in first post mate I was on a budget with buying a 370z and didn't think I could even afford a convertible. Thankfully one came up at a pretty decent price so managed to scrape a bit more together and went for it! If i'd have bought a white one i'd probably end up wrapping it another colour!! My SL500 I sold a few months back was black, then went matt white then matt met/grey! Theheff – Not sure how much you would need exactly as this was a roll from another car I was going to do. I would say 13metres would be ample (it is 1524mm wide). Supplier wise I buy from my usual supplier called William Smith, not sure if you need to be a trader to buy from there, if not happy to get it for you and send on….
  3. I am worried about the back bumper but I think the front will be ok I think, i am leaving the middle bit black which makes life a lot easier! The tailgate looks a challenge as well!!!!! Done quite a few cars now so 'fairly' confident - famous last words!!!!
  4. Had a few people ask me about my 370z wrapping so thought I would post some pics of progress. Only started yesterday afternoon allbeit with a stinking hangover! So far so good, bonnet is bigger than it looks but all went down ok, will be doing the front bumper this evening if I can leave work on time! Colour I have gone for is Arlon UPP Metallic Gloss White, first time I have used this brand but so far its just as easy as using 3M, Hexis etc. I originally wanted to buy a white roadster but couldnt find one in my budget, so opted to get a black rose one. I like the black but a pig to keep clean! (oddly enough I find white ok!). Few pics before I garaged it for the colour change! The vinyl is VERY bright, my garage lighting it quite dull so it's hard to see the metallic in the vinyl! All prepped and ready for the bonnet to be done Vinyl cut to size! Laid! Done! Just about see the metallic in the vinyl... Managed to do the front wing whilst dinner was cooking! Will get some more pics up soon! Chris
  5. As above does anyone know if illuminated kick plates are available to buy in the UK? Reason being I quite fancy a set and off to America next week so will pick some up from there if not! Cheers
  6. Yup they are the same colour (Black Rose / Black Cherry), the yanks call it Cherry!
  7. I will do indeed, will hopefully make a start this weekend, just got to finish a customers car then im all mine!!!!
  8. You are best off contacting a print company who can print onto vinyl for you, give them the pantone code of the colour and they should be able to recreate it. If its a flat surface it doesnt have to be wrap vinyl, just a decent quality cast vinyl will be fine (and cheaper!). As above matt orange colours are very limited.
  9. On the subject of black rose here are a few of mine! last few pics before the wrap begins!! Chris
  10. Off to Miami for 5 days then up to Orlando for a further 2 1/2 weeks, doing the usual Disney stuff and also a bit of property hunting !!
  11. Yeah not fussed about getting them delivered, most of the time I am staying at a friends place so can get stuff ordered prior, its just knowing what!!! Are things like CAI's etc cheaper over there?
  12. Off on my hols to the USA in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there is anything that's worth buying for my 370 whilst I am over there to bring back?!! Any ideas? Would love an exhaust but a bit big to lug back!!!!! Cheers
  13. Alongide my full time job (global event manager for a major investment bank) I have a signwriting business. Had it for about 14 years now, anything from van signwriting to shop fronts, digital print, stickers, number plates etc. Been wrapping cars for about 4 years now as well. Also do t-shirt embroidery and recently started doing canvas printing (and testing acrylic art as well!). Keeps me busy, I never advertise anywhere and can pretty much choose the work I do around my perm.job (travel a fair bit so sometimes awkward!! I'd go insane if I was sat in front of the tv every night!!
  14. I've only had my 370z for a week and in love with it!! I've come from 2 350's which I both thought were fantastic cars. Had a few differnet motors in between but wanted something newer and a convertible and it ticked all the boxes. Positives over the 350.... the 370 gearbox is bloody awesome, the S Mode is fantastic and makes a hell of a difference, interior is a lot nicer and a much more pleasant place to be, I love the cooled seats - i'm a fan of leather but the material in the middle makes a nice bit of difference. Only negative I have found so far are hte wing mirrors are bloody huge!!!! I cant see over the top of them!!! All in all very happy changing to a 370.
  15. Haha I know its bloody awful, the only thing I dont like about the car to be honest!! I presume the S2000 stubby doesnt fit?
  16. Yup did that before I bought it and has been done Chris
  17. Few pics here ! http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71002-my-new-370z-gt-convertible/
  18. As above at long last decided to bite the bullet and purchased my first 370. Had a couple of 350Z's over the years then moved over to a mercedes sl500, then 335i bmw convertible etc.. .Loved the merc but had it for a couple of years which is a long time for me, then looked into the 370s. Was going to buy a coupe but then a convertible caught my eye. Needless to say the day after looking at it decided to buy it and picked it up this mornign! Completely standard although may wrap is metallic gloss white as I've got a feeling the black rose colour will be a bitch to keep clean (surprisingly white isnt!!). Few pics the missus took this morning! Chris
  19. haha im in two minds with the white. Thing is it will only take me a few days to wrap it so not all lost, and worst case if I dont like it I can just take it off?! Can be a black rose in disguise! Where are the meets, used to attend the old RS Owners meets years ago in my cosworth days but havent really been to another since then!! I'm in Essex....
  20. yeah exhaust would be nice but i kind of stretched myself to buying this so maybe a while! I have a roll of gorgeous deep metallic white vinyl at home so need to convince myself whether to wrap it or not! I love the black rose, looks great but got a feeling keeping it clean is going to be a real bitch! Oddly enough white will be easier, plus it will protect the paintwork! Had the roof down earlier though, sooooo much nicer than my old 335i with regards to roof down experience..... I dont keep cars for long normally but think this one might be a keeper!! What is the price of an aftermarket exhaust these days as a matter of interest?
  21. Yeah just realised it could be agg! It seems that 4Gb is the biggest usb stick the car supports? Tried an 8Gb and it says unreadable file?!
  22. Well happy days picked it up this morning, VERY happy with it, car is spotless, full history which was confirmed by NIssan in Tunbridge!! Shame it has been a bit wet this morning so the roof had to stay up! Just got to figure out how to use all the stereo functions! With the USB I presume its a case of chucking mp3's onto a stick then plugging it in. Will it support WMA as well? It also has music box whatever that is, I think its a hard drive of some sort, any ideas how to put music/films onto it?! What is the price of an exhaust these days? Chris
  23. im with Esure and was quoted that, paying the same for my just sold 2008 335i m sport convertible. Have heard good and bad things about esure so pinkies crossed I dont have a prang! Will- thanks mate, if all goes to plan and I can escape the office a little earlier I am going to view tonight!
  24. haha!! Sorry had a loooong weekend working and just got home! (well, taking clients to see Liverpool play if thats called working!!!). Ok cool i'll wait for them to call and give them a gentle reminder tomorrow afternoon. Can't believe how cheap the insruance is on them, £322 full comp for me! (33 no points, full no claims!)! Chris
  25. Is Colin the best person to talk to then? Is he in service?! Cheers
