  1. HI all, quite hard writing this but I have been offered a property over in the US for a VERY good price, its something I have always wanted to do and was aiming to do it later next year, but this does seem like a good opportunity as it is in the area where I wanted to buy (they do not come up for sale very often). For me to do this though I will unfortunately have to sell my 370z roadster to free up some cash . Very gutting, especially as the nice weather is with us at the moment. I am in the mindset where I can always buy another one in the future once this second property is sorted. I've been looking on the trader and ebay etc for prices and it seems very difficult to put a benchmark price on it. its currently vinyl wrapped which may put people off (although all of the other wrapped cars I have had have sold straight away!). I can always remove the wrap, it's immaculate underneath! So, what sort of money is it worth? She's a 10 plate with 19700 miles on it, has the satnav, the hard drive thing (never used it!) and its that black rose colour. Everything works as it should. I havent owned it for very long which is the annoying bit but the previous owner had had it from new. Full Nissan history, new tyres all round etc etc..... Ive fitted the Injen cai's but the original airboxes can go back on! HPi clear etc and there is no finance on it! Would £18500 /£19000 be around the right figure? Any advise would be great Cheers Chris
  2. Yeah they were never cheap and they still aren't! I think I paid £16k for mine and sold it a bit later after 6 months of hard driving (and oddly enough reliable driving!!) for £18k!!
  3. Blimey long gone are the days of cheap insurance, I was fortunate enough to buy an Escort Cosworth when I was 18, stg3, 350hp, insurance with mods declated was £950 fully comp with my 6 points!! Sold it for an Evo and I got some money back!!! Madness, was 14 years back!! Now pay £320 fully comp on my 370z roadster! I found that limited mileage policies worked the best for me, tell em 5000 miles or so a year and so long as you dont use it as a daily I imagine you won't hit that.
  4. Nup pressure washing is fine, I've already washed it with my jetwash a few times already (bugs on the front!!) and not had a problem. Around the edges, things like wheel arches etc I imagine if you held the jetwash an inch from it it could catch an edge but so long as you're sensible its fine!
  5. haha I'll let you both fight it out, just decide and let me know who wants it!!
  6. Found this in the cupboard whilst having a sort out, bought it ages and ages ago when I had my azure 350, don't think I even used it!!! Not sure what its worth, fiver delivered?
  7. RTbiscuit - I think I am getting confused with the 2!! Is teh plasti one where you apply quite a lot of coats to get the finish, fairly slow process but very cheap and effective? csscallum - overall I reckon I could do another one in about 2 1/2 days! One of the easiest cars i've done if being honest! Dayy - yes mate standard front bumper but the middle bit is normally the same colour as the rest!
  8. Yeah that could be an idea but gold is very 'subaru', especially in Essex where I live!! A friend round the corner does plastidipping and manufacturers the tanks for it, interesting concept but not really for me!
  9. Cheers chaps - Will370z - the mirrors will be going white unfortunately, in real life they look as if they are missing being black!!! parello9 - got into it through interest really, had a signwriting company for years and years now on the side and fancied doing something different to signing vans and shop fronts!! Trying my hand at canvas and acrylic printing now which is a little different!! 4REleather - I was going to do the wheels black but I like it as it is now! Plus if I want to put it back to standard it would odd with black wheels ddcboyle - its only practice mate
  10. Well bit of an update, had three weeks in the USA but spent the afternoon on Sunday to keep myself awake finishing the car off!! Pretty much all done now bar the mirrors. I might gloss black the lower rear valance and front valance as it looks a bit odd being with purpley metallic!! Very pleased with the result, really brightens the car up and with the metallic in the vinyl gives it a nice sparkle in the sun! Thought I would try a square plate on the back, not 100% sure yet if I like it, it is growing on me but we'll see!
  11. Where did you buy that from mate? I bought it from the states mate, managed to squeeze the kit in my suitcase!! Drove it yesterday properly for the first time and definitely noticeable on performance, and the stereo was low pretty much the whole 100 mile journey, noise is great!!
  12. Ive just fitted an Injen short ram CAI and its great, noise is great and it feels quicker (although could be in the mind!). Only took 15 mins to fit them both! Chris
  13. Youtube is your best friend for that but I will get round to doing a write up after me holiday!!
  14. Just a quick update, busy all day so no wrapping for me! Made a smaller numberplate but not tooo small! Also stuck the Nissan badge back on!
  15. haha yup, less vinyl to use!! In all seriousness the tailgate on a 350Z is a bit of a pig to do! I carbon wrapped my old 350 a few years back and remember it being a mare!!
  16. Its all practice mate and a lot of patience. Not blowing my own trumpet but its not as easy as it looks, when I first started it took me ages to get it right!! Trade for the vinyl depends on brand, color, size/amount needed etc... £500/£600 is on the top end of cost....
  17. lol yeah I pasted them in the wrong order!!!! superstu - wash it as per any other car except no car washes! I just jet wash and either leather or dry with a towel! Vinyl is meant to last 5-8 years but all depends on how well its looked after, driven in what conditions etc. I've had a car wrapped well over a year and driven it all conditions and was still like new when I sold it on!
  18. Spent the best part of today wrapping the car, made some great progress, all that is left is the rear bumper and the hood cover thing!
  19. Cool cheers, I had an Injen filter on an MR2 turbo years ago and was great! Jay - I would love the Stillens but they are big bucks and to be honest i'm only buying them for the noise!! Worth the punt then for this price then?!
  20. HI all, looking at buying these Injen filters whilst I am over in the US next week, would they be literally a bolt on jobby? I presume I don't need to bother with any remaps or any of the like? http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-private-classifieds/70709-injen-sri-v3-carb-approved.html Cheers!
  21. Yeah I might get a few sets and stick em on ebay!!
  22. Ill try and do a writeup at some point, it really is like someone asking to do a writeup on plastering, or plumbing etc... Something i've learnt over the years with trial and error, key things though a patience (a lot!) and learning the vinyl, how it works, moves, activates etc....
  23. Harryjax- yup they are the ones mate, in the US they are only $142.00 though!!!!
  24. 14N - in answer to your question mate I've done a few cars over the last 3 or 4 years wrapping (only as a hobby not full time job), so far done 2 Audi S4's, 350Z, SL500, Range Rover Sport, Mk2 Focus RS, Beetle, VW Polo, Audi A3, Escort Cosworth, couple of vans etc... around 20 in total I think! Been signwriting for about 13 years now (again alongside my full time job!) so have a bit of experience.... Chris
