Chesterfield replied to Ekona's topic in Forum IT Issues & Bug Reporting
The searches should now be back to normal and the mark forums read link should be present on both forms of the searches now. Let me know if the problem persists. -

You are correct, it's still there on view including off topic, and it's including off topic results too. Will fix shortly thanks for letting us know -

The link to mark forum read is still present for me. It's either top left or top right depending on whether it's a forum or subforum. -
There is a slight delay, however it also depends on how often whichever application you are working with refreshes is source. The one shown for the iphone, you have to do a manual refresh on. Others for different platforms will refresh automatically. Hope that helps

Just follow the steps above and see how you get on

Yes it can support multiple skins, looking at a mobile skin is one of the ongoing projects. The RSS/ATOM Feeds, are just a way of keeping up to date - if you wish to reply, just click the "safari" button on the bottom right (if using the iphone) and it will take you to the web page to reply Proper mobile skin as an option is being looked at though

Weve made an addition to the site that should prove very useful for many of our members. RSS feeds. These "feeds" allow you to keep up to date with the forum using news tickers, especially useful for those who wish to keep up to date with350z-uk.com while on the move using your mobile devices. These same feeds can be useful for those who dont want to use an internet browser window open to the site all day long. If you can have a news ticker on your pc while going about your day to day work, you need never miss a new post or important announcement on 350z-uk.com again. Below are instructions for setting up access to these feeds on your Iphone. Im using a free RSS reader in this example, but feel fre to use your own. Firstly, download and install the free RSS reader for the Iphone: Once installed and running you will see the screen below. Tap the + button at the top left, and you are ready to add feeds from this site.. To add a feed from 350z-uk.com, rather than add the direct feed link, we can browse to the site to pick from a number of feeds - enter the forum URL into the box as below: Tap done, and you will be taken to the forum index, which will show a message stating that 3 feeds are found, click the + button (top right to add one) When you click that + button, you will be taken to a page listing three feeds at the bottom: 350z-uk.com, News, and All topics. The function of each of these is as follows: 350z-uk.com: This will show the last 20 posts on the site regardless of topic. News: This will show the last 15 announcements (look here for the latest shows and discounts) All Topics: This will show the last 15 topics created and the first post of each. In this example I've chosen All topics and it has been added to my index page as below: I can now see the last 15 topics posted by clicking the 350z-uk.com item in my list - and here they are displayed on the iphone: When you read an item, it displays very clearly on the screen too: If you want to read further than the first post, click the "view website" link at the bottom left - then simply, "back" to get back to the list. For those wanting the direct RSS links to use on desktop applications, they are: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/feed.php = last 20 posts http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/feed.php?mode=news = last 15 announcements http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/feed.php?mode=topics = last 15 topics created

the new addition should be announced soon with a description on how to use it, and no prizes for spotting it beforehand.. It will mainly benefit mobile users though, and those who read the forum at work, but may be concious of having the board open all the time. In a while there will be another major update which will be of use and hopefully fun for all

iphone should now be back to normal - changes to the trader scrolling banner reverted for now.
-
Yup - as posted in the thread discussing the active topics search, the site is fubar on the iphone at the moment - its due to the changes being made on the traders scrolling banner. it is being worked on in return the iphone users should be able t make good use of the new update coming soon...

for the winking smiley it must have been loaded while the forum cache was being flushed. Try opening the image itself in a page and doing a CTRL F5 on that. Open this in a new browser window.. images/smilies/wink.gif

Heres an update. We have updated the forum software. This has fixed a few errors, and allows us to bring further updates to the site, including a large one which will require the forum being closed for a period of time at some point in the future. One of the errors tht was fixed was a bug which meant a setting stating whether to include a section in the "active topics" or not was being ignored. The latest version fixed this error - however all forums were as a default set to "no". This had never been noticed before as the bug was ignoring the setting. We are now reverting the forums to display their posts within the active topics, so you should notice the active topics search coming back to normal soon. More on the updates which affect/improve how the site can be used coming as soon as we have fixed this minor hiccup :thumbs With regard to the traders banner, we have been trying to make changes to this to ensure all traders are given equal priority on the list and the images are rotated at random every time the page is displayed, however while we can get this to display on PC browsers just fine, it is screwing up on mobile browsers including the iphone. Its current state of "knackered" is an interim state while we try getting it working on all browsers.

Dumped almost everything as watching the markets was taking too much time away from work. Still have a small ammount on banking stock. (spreadbet). Took out bets on RBS & LLOY a while back when there was the possibilitity of nationalisation, average buy for RBS was 16.5.
